Ashton Lansdell

Ashton Lansdell talked about how she got into baseball in an interview with MLB.com. “I grew up with all the kids on the team, so I played travel baseball with them, summer baseball, rec ball, anything. It just felt like home, like just playing another day with all my guys. It was a lot of fun.”
Kelsie Whitmore

Kelsie Whitmore was the first woman since 1994 to play for an MLB affiliated team. She shared with The Guardian that she wanted other women to have similar opportunities and that the lack of women playing was what drove her. “There just weren’t any women playing. All my inspirations were men. It just made me want it more. My thing isn’t about trying to be the first. It’s about trying to do something I love.”
Laura Espinoza-Watson
Laura Espinoza-Watson is sharing her baseball skills with others as a coach for Amphi. “It really isn’t about winning or losing, it’s about providing these young ladies an opportunity to play a game that they have seen that they would like to try,” Laura said to All Sports Tuscon. “I invite the entire school out whether the kids have played or not and we have so many kids in the program that have never played. I will never refuse them the opportunity to play this game.”
Malaika Underwood

Mailaika Underwood shared why she took a position at Sandlot to Sports Business Journal. “It was such a unique perspective on business,” she said. “That came into my decision to take this job. I wanted to be in that position again, because I really enjoyed that perspective and that opportunity to have that impact on the on a business.”
Meggie Meidlinger

Meggie Meidlinger talked about how her career has changed in an interview with DHS Press. “I think, for me, I was honestly at a point in my career where I was a little burned out. [I decided that] I wanted to go to a bigger school as opposed to a smaller school. I’ll admit, I stepped onto campus. And after the first day, I missed sports. That’s why I played club basketball. And I loved it. I had great teammates, we traveled and competed.”
Sarah Hudek

Sarah Hudek is all about proving herself and working hard on the baseball field. She talked about this to The Dallas Morning News. “I’m out to prove myself every time I step out on the field, regardless if I’m on the mound or in the field or in the batter’s box,” Sarah said. “That’s my mindset every time I got on the field. That’s the same mindset that I have to this day.”
