7 Women Who Got Fit to be Victoria's Secret Models

Here’s how models get runway ready for the big fashion show.

Victoria's Secret has evolved into a body-inclusive brand in recent years. However, for decades the runway of the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show earned the reputation of showcasing only the fittest bodies in the world – stringent even by supermodel standards. For weeks and even months leading up to the big show, models busted their behinds to get in tip-top shape, some going to extreme measures in hopes of slipping into the coveted Fantasy Bra. Here are 7 women who got super fit for Victoria's Secret, and what they did to get ready for the big event.

At the age of 17, Kendall Jenner had Victoria's Secret aspirations, so she hired trainer Autumn Calabrese to get her ready for the show. "She was 17, so she had about six months until she could legally sign the Victoria's Secret contract, and she is very naturally lean, she is very tall, obviously beautiful," the trainer told Life & Style. "So, for her, it was more about just staying lean and toned. We focused on a lot of toning exercises for her legs, for her hips, for her abdominals, we did everything. We weight trained, but we didn't go super heavy on the weights — we kept it in higher reps, so it was a little bit lighter weights going for that definition even though girls can't really bulk up."

Martha Hunt has hit Victoria's Secret's catwalk multiple times, maintaining that she does various workouts to prep for it. "I do a mix of things, like Pilates and barre, high impact and low impact," she told E! News of training with Sculpt Society creator Megan Roup. "This year, I set a goal for myself to improve my squat form, which I've been able to accomplish and I'm really proud of that. I've been doing a lot of squats and overall stretching and strength conditioning with my trainer."

Elsa Hosk also does Sculpt Society. "I did something different this year," she told E! News. "I try to mix up every year, because I get bored with the same workouts. Last year, I did a lot of boxing. This year, I'm doing a lot of dance cardio with this girl Megan. She's really great with toning, keeping it fun and coming up with new moves every time we work out, so I think it's good to balance it and do it as much as you can, but just like mix it up."

Sara Sampaio

Sara Sampaio is all about five-day-a-week workouts. However, before the show, she tries to avoid carbs like pizza, bread, and pasta, but ahead of the lingerie fest, "I cut down on that," she dished to Us Weekly, "and eat a lot of chicken, fish, fruit and veggies."

Adriana Lima works out all year long. "But I kick it up a little bit leading up to the show," she told British Vogue. Her pre-show workout involves a mix of boxing and cardio and workouts at The Dogpound/ "People say that we train like Olympic athletes," she added, "and I think although obviously it's a much different goal, we do work very hard to achieve how we want to look and feel as we walk down the runway for millions of people."

Georgia Fowler dished to Women's Health that she amps up her produce intake. In fact, fruits and veggies make up 80 percent of her pre-show diet along with 10 percent fat and 10 percent protein. "I [have] an avo a day, lots of nuts, lots of fish," she said, "and then just fruit and veg. I limit dairy and excess carbs, basically. No processed food."
