Tackle Your Health Issues Head-On

Coco battled an eating disorder as a teen and speaks openly about it. At her worst, she was eating two egg whites and drinking one protein shake a day and going to sleep at 6 PM so she wouldn't eat any more. She would also spend three hours a day at the gym. "I was six stone, my period had stopped, my skin had grown hair on it to try and keep me warm, my body was shutting down," she told Johnny Seifert on the Secure The Insecure Podcast. After her parents intervened, she tackled her eating disorder and got on a healthier track.

Educating yourself about diet and nutrition is the key to healthy living, says Coco. "I was literally sugar free for three years, including sauces like ketchup. I wouldn't touch it," she said. But once she hired a personal trainer and nutritionist and educated herself, she incorporated a more moderate but healthy approach to diet. "Now I've done a whole 360. I know more about the gym, because I've been studying a PT course and training," she said.

Love and Accept Yourself

Self-love and acceptance are also important, says Coco. "'As I've got older I've accepted my body is never going to be like a supermodel…I just have to accept who I am. I'm happy with it now, but I wasn't when I was younger," she said.

One of the workouts that Coco loves is boxing. Harvard Health maintains that boxing a great way to build strength, improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance, and helps increase alertness.

5

Lift Weights

Coco spends a lot of time in the gym, lifting weights. In fact, she works out almost daily. "Back to training every day," she captioned this post from the gym. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
