A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman Shares Swimsuit Photo to "Relax"

Here’s how she stays in shape.

Jasmine Harman recently enjoyed a vacation with her family. She shared a photo and talked about the experience in a recent post on Instagram. "I've been so incredibly busy and stressed over the last few weeks, almost to the point where I was thinking we'd have to cancel our family holiday, but we didn't, we're here and I'm going to try my best to switch off and relax; 😎 something I find hard to do at times! I realised that even though I didn't have time for it, and going on holiday was almost feeling like an additional stress, that's when you need it the most. Nothing is more precious than spending time with family. Now we're off for a siesta!!!" How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jasmine Harman stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1

She's Vegan

Harman shared some of her diet and exercise secrets with Your Healthy Living. She says that she is a vegan. "I first thought about going vegan when I became a mum. I was vegetarian anyway and I had toyed with the idea of going vegan, but I didn't ever think that I could live without cheese. Then, when I began to do some research into the dairy industry, what I found out was horrific."

She Takes Fitness Classes

Harman tells Your Healthy Living that she loves to take exercise classes. "I used to be a fitness instructor, and so I've always loved exercise classes. I really enjoy things like dance, step, boxercise and body combat. But since lockdown happened, I've struggled to get motivated. I really like the social aspect of doing group exercise classes, and I love having a routine to learn as that gives your brain a workout too. I can't wait till I can get back and do my classes again."

3

She Meditates

Harman is a big fan of practicing meditation. "I have a couple of meditation apps on my phone that I've found to be so beneficial," she told Your Healthy Living. "When we went into the first lockdown and the kids were home all the time I felt like I was busier than ever and it was quite stressful. It was a bit overwhelming just not being able to do simple things like take the kids to the park. So, listening to meditation really helped me to switch my brain off and just stop for a minute. It also really helped with my sleep."

She Loves Herself

Harman tells Your Healthy Living that she's all about self-love, and that she thinks it helps her stay healthy. "My top tip for healthy living would be to love yourself. We all go through times when we are motivated to eat healthily and exercise, then go through other times when we have different priorities in life. Stressing over being healthy will not make you healthy. I would also recommend mindful eating. Ask yourself whether you are really hungry or maybe just thirsty? Savour each bite and eat food that will satisfy your cravings, not just momentarily."

5

She Cooks

One thing Harman does to eat healthy? Cooks her own meals. She tells Your Healthy Living, "I love cooking when I'm at home. I really enjoy veganising classic dishes like some of those mentioned above. We enjoy our food at home and like hearty meals that leave you feeling satisfied but not stuffed. We eat lots and lots of vegetables, so vegan fajitas with homemade salsa, guacamole and vegan soured cream always goes down well, or for real comfort food, my vegan shepherd's pie is a hit every time."
