Ex WWE Star Aliyah Shares Swimsuit Photo Doing Squats by the Pool
Aliyah is warming up in her bathing suit. In a new social media post the former WWE star, whose real name is Nhooph Al-Areebi, does a "warm up" by doing squats with Daryn Alexander, a fitness model, in her arms. How does the pro wrestler keep herself in such amazing shape? Celebwell rounded up her top health and lifestyle tips.
Learn Acrobatics
How did Aliyah start her wrestling training? "I decided to go to circus school because I wanted to be a wrestler," she told WWE. "I remember watching Tough Enough and seeing that they were doing rolls and stuff. I connected that with the circus, which was an option as an after-school program, so I chose that. I learned a lot of skills there, like acrobatics, that transferred over to wrestling… [Circus training] is very physically demanding. You have to have a certain athleticism. You have to be able to jump. Your body has to be able to move a certain way. It takes a lot of flexibility. There's a lot of physicality in wrestling, too. You have to be athletic."
Lift Weights
Aliyah spends a lot of time in the gym lifting weights. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
Enjoy the Gym
If you want to exercise regularly, fall in love with it. "I enjoy … everything. I really can't think of just one thing. I love the in-ring training, I love how we have a full gym and get to work on our physiques. I love the whole facility. It's like Disneyland to me!" she said.
Ride Horses
Aliyah is an experienced equestrian. "Ain't nothing new under the sun 😘 #horsegirl," she captioned a post of herself on horseback. According to the American Heart Association, riding horses is great for your health. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.
Train Hard
If you want a body like Aliyah, train hard. "I would go to the gym every day," she says about how she prepped for her WWE tryout. "I would go to wrestling training five times a week. I was eating the cleanest I've ever eaten in my life. I'd practice interviews in the mirror every day. I gave 110 percent to be ready for the tryout."
