Drink Coffee
Amber's caffeinated drink of choice? A"skinny vanilla latte with almond milk please," she captioned a recent post. Should you drink coffee on a regular basis? Yes, says a 2022 study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, which found that drinking two to three cups a day of most types of coffee – especially a mild to moderate intake of ground, instant, and decaffeinated coffee – may protect you from cardiovascular disease and an early death.
Exercise
Amber lifts weights as a form of exercise. "Feeling fresh," she captioned a mirror selfie from the gym. How often should you get your body moving? Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans
Eat Protein, Greens, Low Fat Dairy, and Whole Grains
Amber reveals all her diet secrets on her Active with Amber Instagram account. She drinks veggie smoothies with spinach, celery, apple, nonfat Greek yogurt, water, and vanilla whey protein and other juices and eats smoothie bowls. Most of her lunches and dinners consist of protein and lots of veggies. When she does eat carbs, she focuses on whole grains instead of those made with white flour.
Soak in the Hot Tub
Amber enjoys heat therapy in the form of a hot tub soak. How can hot water do your mind good? Baths have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.
Get Your Steps In
Amber gets her steps in with the help of her dog. "Little wholesome trip to Scotland with my boys so Oliver could go on lots of fun walks + explore! Swipe for a before & after," she captioned a post of herself walking with her pooch while on a vacation. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
