Big Sky Star Jesse James Keitel Shares Swimsuit Photo Saying "Hey Fam"
Jesse James Keitel is heating up social media in their swimsuit. In a recent social media post, the Big Sky star shows off their amazingly fit figure in a swimsuit while soaking up the sun at the beach in Avalon, New Jersey. "Hey fam," they captioned the series of snaps. How does the 30-year-old approach health and fitness? Celebwell rounded up their top lifestyle habits.
Drag, "Saved" Their Life
"Drag not only saved my life, it gave me an acting career," they say. "I would not be a series regular on Big Sky if I hadn't started drag," the non-binary and transfeminine star told The Independent, recalling a specific day in early 2016."I wore an outfit that was completely duct-taped, stuck to my body. I wore antlers, the make-up looked terrible, but that night changed my life. There's something about allowing yourself the freedom to leave your comfort zone behind, and getting praised for it." Keitel maintains that it "gave me permission to explore my gender identity. It gave me permission to explore fashion and make-up. It gave me permission to be myself." As an actor, they were previously told by industry people to be "this really neutral version of myself" but also to be unique. All in all, they say, "it wasn't until I did drag that I actually discovered who I was at my core."
Hiking
On a trip to Northern California Jesse went on several hikes. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
Biking
Jesse loves to go biking, in cities and in nature. Here they are in San Francisco seeing the sights on wheels. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.
Skiing
Jesse is also a skier, captioning this photo from the mountain, "slope girl's afraid to leave the slope." Research has linked downhill skiing to a number of health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress and the occurrence of memory deficits declines.
Red Wine
Jesse is a red wine drinker. "Red wine, in moderation, has long been thought of as heart healthy," says the Mayo Clinic. "The alcohol and certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent coronary artery disease, the condition that leads to heart attacks."
