11 Amazing Bodies of Longmire Stars
Longmire exited A&E over six years ago after a six season run. However, the popular western drama lives on, streaming on Netflix. While the plot surrounded main character Walt Longmire, a widowed sheriff in Absaroka County, Wyoming, over the years several stunning women appeared on the show. Celebwell rounded up 11 amazing bodies of Longmire stars and compiled a list of their best lifestyle habits.
Katee Sackhoff
Katee Sackoff, who stars as Victoria Moretti on the hit show, explained in a YouTube video with her trainer that she changes up her workout routine depending on the role. For example, while playing Lieutenant Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on Battlestar Galactica she had a more relaxed approach to diet and exercise. "Part of the reason I didn't want to change [Starbuck's] body from my own was because she and I were very similar in that sense. She drank a lot and smoked cigars. This is not a person who is like the epitome of staying in shape … She wasn't eating salad," she said.
Cassidy Freeman
Cassidy Freeman, who stars as Cady Longmire, loves to hike with her family. Her social media feed is filled with photos of her adventures on the trails. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
Ally Walker
Ally Walker, who played Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan, loves going on long bike rides. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.
Tamara Duarte
Yoga is "vital" for Tamara Duarte, aka Mandy. "My body needs at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day and my mind the opposite. The only way I know how to calm my mind down is if I allow my body to get movement out first," she told Asana. "I have a mat in my trunk, suitcase, apartment in LA, and home in Vegas. I know it's a lot of mats, but I practice when I can where I can. It is hard but I try my best."
Mary Wiseman
Mary Wiseman, who plays Meg Joyce, is outdoorsy. She loves walking and hiking in nature. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
Katherine LaNasa
Katherine LaNasa, who plays Lizzie Ambrose, has an active lifestyle of running, biking, yoga, and gyrotonics. She also maintains a gluten-free, organic diet sans dairy or meat. "You need to get yourself happy," she told Dolce "It's sort of by grace, I don't think by virtuosity, that we make each other better people. When that comes naturally in a relationship, then it's a good one."
Jessica Camacho
Jessica Camacho, Kiersten on the show, prioritizes rest and recharging. "I make sleep a priority. I truly need eight hours to function at my best. If I can't get that when I'm working a heavy schedule, I'll pamper myself with naps, which are just heaven to me," she told Parade. "Also, I try to dedicate myself to cultivating a meditation practice. Sometimes it's hard for me to include that in the chaos of a busy day, but when I do, I truly feel more balanced, at peace, and capable of handling stress. I'm working towards meditating on a daily basis."
Amber Midthunder
Amber Midthunder plays Lilly Stillwater on the show. In real life you can find her hiking and rock climbing. She captioned one post, "girl on a rock in the sky feeling thankful for ancestors and land and social distancing and loved ones."
Julia Jones
Dexter New Blood star Julia Jones appeared in 5 episodes of Longmire as Gabriella Langton. One of her favorite sports is skiing. Research has linked downhill skiing to a number of health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress and the occurrence of memory deficits declines.
Beau Garrett
Beau Garrett played Shawna Crawford on two episodes of the show. She stays active in a variety of ways, she explained in an interview with Christy Dawn. "I like to sweep my house. I like to put flowers in my space. Hike. Be with my pup. Cook dinner and have people in my home. I love to dance. I love to travel. I love yoga and music, sometimes at the same time. I love road trips and great books. Honestly, I just want to laugh these days so I surround myself with things and people that create that environment," she said.
Mädchen Amick
Mädchen Amick, who played Deena in 3 episodes of the show, has a few different workouts she loves. "I'm deeply into high-level Iyengar yoga, so we had beautiful yoga walls built at our home. And I'm grandfathered in at 24 Hour Fitness in West Hollywood, where I get to pay just $90 a year for a lifetime. I love that and embrace it! I do the weight circuit a couple times a week, and I'll jump into any spin class, anytime, anywhere," she told Socal Pulse.
