Anne Hathaway in Workout Top Lifts Weights
Anne Hathaway is pumping iron in her workout top. In a new social media shared by Interview Magazine, the Academy Award winning actress shows off her incredibly fit figure while lifting weights. "What's a rest day?" the magazine captioned the post. How does the actress approach health and wellness? Celebwell has all the details about her top lifestyle habits.
Nourishing Foods
Anne used to be a vegan. However, when she was forced to wear a 40-pound spacesuit in Interstellar, she changed her eating habits. "I just didn't feel good or healthy," she confessed to Harper's Bazaar, adding that she felt "not strong." She ate a fresh piece of fish while in Iceland "from a stream I could see from where I was sitting," and maintains that she "just felt better" and soon incorporated animal products back in her diet. "With eating, my number-one thing is trying to buy food that doesn't come in packaging," she added to Shape about her diet. "Beyond that, I try not to eat red meat, and I try not to eat pork."
No Alcohol
"'My issue is I just love it. So. Much," she told Tatler about why she quit drinking alcohol. "But the way I do it makes me unavailable for my son. My last hangover lasted for five days. I'd earned it: it was a day drinking session with friends that went into an evening birthday party with one of my drinking buddies. I will never be that person who can nurse a glass of wine throughout an entire evening."
No Diets
While Anne famously dropped 25 pounds to play Fantine in Les Miserables, she later revealed to PeopleTV's The Jess Cagle Interview that the weight loss put her in such a bad place couldn't enjoy the Oscar she won for the role. "I was just not in a grounded place in my life," she said. "I never wanted to go on and on about it, but that weight loss was not a long-term good thing for my health, and it took a really long time to come back from it. In order to do the transformation to play Fantine, I'd lost a lot of weight in about two weeks. I lost an unhealthy amount of weight in a short amount of time, and I was still really sick because of it."
Yoga and HIIT Workouts
"I'm not a natural wellness warrior," Anne confessed to Shape. "I have friends who go to longevity conventions. They take crystal baths. For me, I try to make it to yoga three or four times a week. It's a different story when I'm working on a film, though. I work out with a trainer, and I do a lot of strength training and HIIT when I need to do that."
Balance
Anne has a "low-key" approach to wellness – and it's all about moderation. "The balancing [of my approach to keeping in shape] is important to me. My go-to for a lot of my life was to feel bad about myself, and I just don't want to do that anymore," she told Shape.
