She wore a green set of workout gear.

Sha'Carri Richardson is a successful track star. She first made waves in 2021. Richardson is also a spokeswoman for several brands. She recently appeared in an Instagram ad for Whoop. In it, she wore a green set of workout gear. Whoop captioned the post, "It's training szn." How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Sha'Carri Richardson stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1

She Runs

Running is naturally the main way Richardson stays in shape. Valley Oaks Health states that running has a lot of benefits.  "After going for a run, your body experiences a drop in the stress hormone cortisol. This reduction diminishes feelings of stress, allowing you to go about the rest of your day with less tension and anxiety. In addition to mitigating stress, running also invokes feelings of calmness. Following a run, your body releases chemicals called endocannabinoids. These chemicals flow through your bloodstream and into your brain, relaxing your mind and body."

She Strength Trains

In this advertisement for Nike, Richardson is seen using battle ropes, which is a strength training exercise. Strength training has a lot of benefits. The Mayo Clinic states, "Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age."

She's Making Up For Her Mistake

Richardson opened up about recovering from her positive drug test to Teen Vogue. "How I show myself forgiveness is honestly by acknowledging it first, acknowledging the situation for what it is, acknowledging my responsibilities in it, and talking about it to the people I feel like it impacted besides myself," she says. "When I had the entire situation of being banned from the Tokyo Games, the people who I talked to first were the people who I felt like were with me the most on the journey. I apologized to them first. I felt like they had to hold my shame as well, in a way — or my guilt, in a way. Acknowledging them made me feel like it was okay within myself…and [I] actually allowed myself to feel those emotions. That whole situation was a very big growing and touching experience for me and my community."

She Speaks Out

Richardson opened up about why she speaks about racism she's experienced to Teen Vogue. "When I'm off the track, I experience things just like … any other woman, any other Black person would experience. So, to me, not to acknowledge that would be part of the problem. I would be part of the reason why there's no change. The fact that I say that I'm Black before an athlete, I really stand on that."

She Has Support

Richardson has a lot of supportive people in her life. She talked about this in an interview. "Everybody has struggles and I understand that, but y'all see me on this track and y'all see the poker face I put on, but nobody but them and my coach know what I go through on a day-to-day basis. I'm highly grateful for them. Without them, there would be no me. Without my grandmother, there would be no Sha'Carri Richardson. My family is my everything, my everything until the day I'm done."
