Survivor Star Lindsay Dolashewich in Workout Gear Visits Costa Rica Rainforest
Lindsay Dolashewich is best known for appearing on the 42nd season of Survivor. She reached the final episode and finished in fifth place. Dolashewich recently went to Costa Rica for some hiking. She shared some highlights on Instagram, captioning the post, "Costa Rica rainforest has been on my bucket list forever- and it was amazeballs!" How does she stay so fit? She Snowboards
Dolashewich loves to snowboard. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself on the slopes. She shared these photos of herself and some friends in Whistler. Dolashewich captioned the post, "Whistler snowboarding trip dump!" She also shared this reel of herself snowboarding on the same trip, captioning it, "We were getting nuts on the slopes last weekend."
She Strength Trains
Dolashewich shared this video of herself working out on Instagram. In it, she is seen weightlifting, which is a strength training exercise. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength training has a lot of benefits. "Strength training can reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression and diabetes."
She Jumps Rope
Dolashewich is seen jumping rope in the previous Instagram post. Piedmont states that jumping rope has a lot of health benefits. "It's an amazing total body exercise that engages all of the major muscle groups," says Clinton Maclin, ACSM CEP-CPO, an exercise physiologist and safety coach at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center. "You can use it to warm up or as a stand-alone exercise, and it incorporates cardiovascular exercise and resistance training. You are guaranteed to burn more calories jumping rope for five minutes than you would walking on a treadmill for five minutes."
She Eats Enough Carbs Before A Workout
Dolashewich is a registered dietician. She shares a lot of her tips on Instagram. In the caption of the previous Instagram post, Dolashewich talked about the importance of eating carbs before working out. "❌Fasting cardio is a no, no❌Working out on an empty stomach results in your body taking glycogen from your muscles and converting to glucose for energy. Basically eating away your muscles to fuel your workout. Carbs = energy. Fuel up with carbs before your workout to give you all the energy needed to power through your workout!"
She Hikes
As you can see from her recent post, Dolashewich likes to hike. Piedmont states that hiking has a lot of health benefits. "Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout. Like most cardio exercises, hiking helps reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers. Hiking is a weight-bearing exercise, which builds muscle mass and helps prevent osteoporosis."
