Tatiana Calderón in Workout Gear Says "Train With Me"
Tatiana Calderón is a race car driver. Naturally, she has to be in good shape to do this. In one of her Instagram videos, she shared the exercises she does in order to brake correctly. Calderón is seen doing weighted lunges, weighted calf raises, and seated calf raises. She captioned the post, "Want to know how we train riders legs for hard braking in a race car? Here I leave my training try it and tell me." How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Tatiana Calderón stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
She Strength Trains
In her Instagram video, Calderón is seen using weights. According to The Mayo Clinic, strength training has a lot of health benefits. "Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass at any age. By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories."
She Does Lunges
Calderón is seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. Ace Fitness states that lunges are a great exercise to do. "They're a form of unilateral training, which means you're working only one limb or side of the body at a time. And unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side."
She Does Calf Raises
In her Instagram video, Calderón is seen doing different calf raises. The Mayo Clinic states that these are a great exercise. "The calf muscles are located in the back of the lower legs. Strengthening your calf muscles with the calf raise exercise will help protect your Achilles tendon and calf from injury."
She Does Yoga
Calderón likes to practice yoga to stay fit. She shared this video on Instagram of herself answering questions while in a handstand pose. The Mayo Clinic states that yoga has a lot of benefits. "When people think of yoga, most people think of the physical poses or stretching when in fact yoga has many tools to offer for healing body, mind and spirit. The tools of yoga include physical poses, breathing practices, meditation practices, hand gestures and a disciplined lifestyle of cultivating healthy habits. A general yoga class can ease your everyday aches and pains, and release stress. Yoga therapy goes further because a yoga therapist works with you to address your specific needs and goals while respecting any limitations you may be experiencing."
She Plays Tennis
According to this video she posted on Instagram, Calderón likes to play tennis. She captioned the post, "Ringing in the new year with racket in hand! 🎾💥Swinging into the new year with a racquet and a whole lot of fun!" The Columbia Association states that tennis has a lot of benefits. "Whatever your age or level of athleticism, tennis is an excellent full-body workout that releases feel-good endorphins to help you relax and relieve tension. Its low-impact nature also means your joints and bones will thank you. Because tennis includes short bursts of activity, it offers the same conditioning benefits of interval training, which has an unparalleled positive effect on the heart and lungs, slashing your risk of heart disease by 56% (!). Just an hour of play burns between 400 to 600 calories."
