Vanessa Lachey In Workout Gear Reflects On NCIS: Hawai'i Cancellation
Vanessa Lachey is mourning the unexpected cancellation of her show NCIS: Hawai'i. Lachey, 43, shared a video of herself wearing black shorts and a sports bra, perched on a rock overlooking the ocean. "I'm wishing for my crew and my cast that we all remember the beauty of what we had… we will spread this Aloha in every direction we go. I wish we had more time, I'm sorry we don't. I wish we had a proper good-bye, I'm sorry we didn't. I know we ALL are connected deeper than any TV show. I will go to the ends of the earth for my cast & crew! If you come across ANY of them… hire them! You won't be disappointed. Salt of the earth people!" she captioned the post. Here's how Lachey stays fit and happy.
Family Breakfast
Lachey eats the same breakfast every day with her family. "I'm a creature of habit," she told Carrots 'N' Cake. "I wish I had a personal chef to create either a healthy start to my day with a personalized smoothie or a gluttonous feast with 10 sides! Haha! But instead, I do a scrambled egg and toast with butter. If I'm feeling frisky I'll do a cheese omelet and toast with butter. It's nice because we make eggs and toast… with fruit most days, so we eat breakfast as a family."
Me Time At the Gym
Lachey treats her workouts life self-care. "I have found that I need motivation to work out, so I go to a trainer, Gregg Miele at Heart & Hustle here in Los Angeles, when I have time," she told New Beauty. Although some days it doesn't work out perfectly, and I just remind myself that I need 'me' time because that is equally important."
Working Out With Nick
Lachey and husband Nick spend their quality time together at the gym. "We just are so tired by the end of the day that we want to stay at home and have dinner and watch our favorite Netflix show," she told Carrots 'N' Cake. "So, we started doing 'day-dates' two days a week. We go to the gym together. We do a personal session at Heart & Hustle Gym in LA, then have lunch before we head home."
Constant Communication
Lachey says constant communication is the key to a happy marriage. "If people really turn towards each other and communicate, you will find that a lot of misunderstandings will get resolved," she told PEOPLE. "You will find that nobody's a mind reader and you can actually really hear your partner out and understand where they're coming from and maybe help cater to that."
Postpartum Journey
Lachey has two children, and was gentle with her postpartum health after each one. "There are no tricks!" she told New Beauty. "Every woman is different. For me, the key was embracing my new body and loving how I am as a mother. I tried to surround myself with positive, loving people, and that helped. Also, just taking everything in baby steps, no pun intended. It took your body nine months to get there, and it's not going to go back overnight."
