Harvard Health maintains that boxing is a great way to build strength, improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance, and helps increase alertness.
Coffee
Chrissy loves coffee. "Cozy coffee moment," she captioned a post. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. "It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function," they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.
Two Workouts a Day
When Chrissy needs to shape up she will workout twice a day and drastically change her diet. "2 lite workouts a day, no gluten and mostly paleo diet has been my recent plan to help get my #thyroid health back in-order. Living with hashimotos doesn't have to be a deal breaker! Anyone have any hacks or tips? LMK! Seems the key is stress management, work/life balance, mostly paleo diet, no gluten and keeping vitamin D and folate levels in check," she wrote in one photo.
Hiking
Chrissy also enjoys hiking. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
High Intensity Interval Training
Chrissy is a fan of high intensity interval training, which she has done at Training Mate. There is lots of research backing up the benefits of HIIT workouts, including body fat reduction, improved cardiovascular function, and mental health. It is also time effective.
