In this post’s caption, she revealed that she makes sure she has proper technique before moving up a level. “Focus on technique before upping weight. Hitting a weight PB (personal best) is addictive and makes you feel amazing, but focus on building confidence in your technique before loading the bar up. It prevents injury and increases the speed at which you’ll progress with your strength goals.”

She Sticks With A Routine

In the same Instagram post’s caption, Sophie advocated for sticking with the same routine for a bit. “Follow the same program for 4-6 weeks,” she wrote. “Don’t change it up every week or second week, keep the same exercises, the same workouts, and the same structure for a minimum of 4 weeks. Look out for your strength fading and take that as a sign to change programs (ensure it’s a progression from the program you’ve just completed).”

She Eats For Maintenance

Sophie talked about her diet in the same Instagram post’s caption. “Eat for maintenance, not fat loss,” she wrote. “As a new trainer the window of time when you start exposing yourself to weights is a golden opportunity to build muscle easier and faster than further along in your lifting journey. What would make this process even more potent? Eating enough food to help your muscles grow instead of eating in a deficit to lose fat. Not only will you put yourself in a better position for muscle growth, but you’ll make fat loss easier when you come to it after 6-12 months of this.”

Sophie likes to spend time in saunas. She talked about the benefits of it in the caption of this Instagram post. “My wind down routine and being really real possibly the ✨best✨ post-work routine everrr 😮‍💨.I know having a sauna at home felt like not ‘a thing’ for me, but if you pay for regular saunas this is way more cost-effective & you can use it daily and the health benefits are 📈 especially for my chronic illness/ endo girlies 🤝.”

She Works Out On Vacation

Sophie makes sure she stays consistent with fitness. Even when she’s on vacation. She shared this video on Instagram of herself in the gym while on vacation. Sophie captioned it, “Training on holiday 🍝✈️🌴🌞 my thoughts: • It’s great to train/ exercise in some way when you’re away if this is important to you. • We were getting 20k daily steps in easy the first week but still wanted to hit the gym a minimum of 2 x per week while away. • Be ready to go off your usual program and do your best. • DB only workouts, changing machines, completely changing workouts based on what’s available – be flexible.”
