Wheel of Fortune Star Vanna White in Workout Gear—Well, a Sleeveless Dress—Does "Pre-Show Workout"

“Looks great for 67!!” added a fan.

Vanna White is sneaking in a workout – in a sleeveless dress. In a new social media post the Wheel of Fortune star – and her co-host Ryan Seacrest – lift some weights backstage. "Just a little pre-show workout!" she captioned the silly Instagram video. "Wow !!! Vanna nice biceps," commented one of her followers. "Looks great for 67!!" added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top workout tips.

1

Lift Weights

As can be demonstrated in her recent post, Vanna relies on strength training to keep her muscles toned. "I also do weights, pushups and sit-ups. My son had the pull-up bar in his room so I started doing pull-ups for upper-body strength," she told Huffington Post. "I keep 10-pound weights in my bathroom and do at least 50 reps of arm exercises every day," she added to Oprah Daily. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Vanna is "very regimented" when it comes to diet and exercise.I have to be because I have to try on sample-size dresses every two weeks and they have to fit—I've worn 8,000 dresses on-air so far," she confessed to Oprah Daily.

Invest in an At-Home Cardio Machine

Vanna doesn't need to go outside to get her cardio in. "Then I spin on my Peloton. I don't have a favorite instructor; I actually prefer the scenic routes. I hover just above the seat and do push-ups on the handlebars as I go. Exercise also boosts my confidence when I look tired. I get on that Peloton and go to town, and then I get off feeling energized and looking flushed and dewy, she told Oprah Daily.

4

Do Yoga

"I mix in a little yoga at times, but that's sporadic," Vanna revealed to Huffington Post about her zen practice which boasts tons of health benefits. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," explains Harvard Health. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."

Go for a Run

"Exercise is my main outlet; it kind of releases things. Even if I can't go running, I can just take a walk," Vanna added to Huffington Post. "I will run a couple days a week." If she has to work that day and she doesn't have time for her Peloton, "I'll do a quick couple mile run. It gives you such energy!" she says. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. "For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories," they say.

6

Take a Hike

Other forms of self-care for Vanna? "I also love hiking, listening to soothing music, meditating. Everyone deals with stress in different ways. For me, it's just relaxing and calming yourself down. Not thinking about bad things, just good things," she tells Huffington Post. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
