Lucifer Star Lesley-Ann Brandt in Two-Workout Gear Does "6 Minute Plunge"

She shares her top tips for staying fit, healthy, and energized.

Lesley-Ann Brandt, known for her role in Lucifer, takes her fitness and self-care routine seriously. In a recent Instagram post, she gave fans a glimpse of her toned abs as she embraced a cold plunge after a sauna session, captioning it, "Mornings 🥵 🥶 130 to 39 #6minplunge." From a rigorous workout schedule to a plant-based diet, Lesley-Ann has found a balanced approach that keeps her feeling strong and energized. Here's a look at her top diet, fitness, and self-care tips to help you stay fit and healthy like her.

1

Train Almost Every Day

If you want to shape up like Lesley-Ann, plan on spending a lot of time at the gym. She trains five days with Paolo Mascitti. "The reason why Paolo and I work so well together is that fitness is just a part of our lives — almost like another limb," she told Shape. "He also understands what every woman's body is different. I'm turning 40 this year, and he understands where I'm at with my metabolism and what my body needs to maintain muscle mass and strength so I can continue doing what I love."

2

Do Strength Training and HIIT

During their hour-long sessions they focus on overall strength, flexibility, agility, and endurance, Mascitti told Shape. "We do a lot of plyometric exercises combined with strength training to accommodate her need to move quickly and for long periods of time while she's shooting," she added. "To mix things up, we usually focus two or three sessions on resistance training, and two to three sessions of high-intensity interval training," he added. There is lots of research backing up the benefits of HIIT workouts, including body fat reduction, improved cardiovascular function, and mental health. It is also time effective.

Maintain a Plant-Based Diet

Brandt endorses a plant-based diet. "I always have a fridge full of vegetables," she says. She sticks to whole foods like quinoa, lentils, and beans and tries to avoid fake meats for the most part. "I'll be honest, I do love an Impossible Burger, but I honestly just fell in love with trying different cuisines, new recipes, and finding new ways to fuel my body and keep me energized," she said.

4

Exercise for Sleep

Lesley-Ann works out for her mind not just her body. "I've never viewed fitness as a job. In fact, I feel bad when I'm not moving because I know what the benefits are, not just physically, but mentally. Sometimes, when I've had a really busy, stressful day and have worked 15-17 hours, I still make time to work out because I want the endorphins and want to sleep better at night, too," she told Shape.

5

Take a Sauna and Do Cold Plunges

In her recent post, Lesley-Ann reveals that she is a fan of saunas and cold plunges. What are the health benefits of a sauna? While some claim the health benefits of saunas are plentiful, including detoxification, increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, antiaging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation, there isn't a lot of research backing up the claims. As for cold plunges or ice baths, there is limited research supporting the benefits as well. Some may include easing sore muscles, bringing body temperature down, increased focus, improved sleep, and decreased inflammation, per the Cleveland Clinic. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes basic post-sport recovery.
