Gladiators Star Fury, aka Jodie Ounsley, in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Training Days"

How training with family and strength training help maintain a fit lifestyle.

Jodie Ounsley is a true powerhouse, balancing multiple roles as a Gladiators star known as Fury, podcast host of Stronger Than You Think, and a former athlete. Ounsley regularly trains with her dad, sharing their workouts on social media. In a recent Instagram post, she posted a video of them running together on a track. "Dad n' daughter training days," she captioned, showcasing her love for fitness and family bonding. How does she stay fit and balanced with such a busy schedule? Here's everything you need to know about her approach to health and fitness.

1

She Runs

In her Instagram video, Ounsley is seen running. FloTrack states that running is a great way to stay in shape. "Running and jogging is an aerobic exercise, and you're working out both your heart and lungs while doing so. This will also lead to a lower resting heart rate, lower bad cholesterol in your blood and lower blood pressure. You don't need to run an obscene amount of miles every day to get these benefits, either. Those who just run a couple of minutes a day decrease their risk of cardiovascular death by 58 percent. If you have a hard time running, you can still give your heart a workout by jogging or walking."

She Strength Trains

Ounsley shared some of her favorite workouts in this Instagram video. In it, she is seen strength training. The Mayo Clinic states that strength training has a lot of benefits. "Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls."

As you can see from her Instagram video, Ounsley likes to workout with her dad. Better Health states that working out with a loved one has a lot of benefits. "Exercising with a friend or loved one can make it more fun, and increase your chances of sticking to your exercise plan. Exercising with a friend is a great way to keep you motivated. It's also a great way to meet new people. It can even save you money. Exercise with someone around the same fitness level as you so you can spur each other on. Ask a family member or a friend, or join a sporting club or group."

Prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, cancer and type 2 diabetes. Improve cardiovascular fitness. Strengthen your bones and muscles. Improve muscle endurance. Increase energy levels. Improve your mood, cognition, memory and sleep. Improve your balance and coordination. Strengthen immune system. Reduce stress and tension."

Ounsley is also seen using a rowing machine in the previous Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that using a rowing machine has a lot of health benefits. "You may not think about the way you carry yourself as a strength thing, but it is. Strong core and back muscles help maintain your posture and reduce pressure on your spinal column. And — while the brain is crucial to balance and coordination — so are our muscles. They help us react quickly and prevent falls."
