Love Is Blind Star Danielle Ruhl in Two-Piece Workout Gear Tries a "Body Muscle Stimulator"

Ruhl reveals her balanced approach to mental and physical health.

Danielle Ruhl, star of Love Is Blind, has captivated her social media audience with her open approach to self-care and wellness. Recently, she shared a video of herself using a body muscle stimulator, captioning it, "After leaving my sessions, my muscles literally felt like I just left a workout. You can actually see results immediately. I did 4 sessions for optimal results." From hiking in the mountains to taking steps toward better mental health and improving her sleep, Ruhl is on a journey to live her best life. Here's a look at her wellness habits that keep her grounded and growing.

1

She Hikes

Danielle Ruhl likes to go hiking to keep herself in shape. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself on a hike in Vail, Colorado. Ruhl captioned the post, "I climbed my first mountain and it was COOL." Hiking has a lot of benefits. Harvard Health states, "Navigating a winding, wooded trail can help your body build endurance, strength, and coordination, says Dr. Edward Phillips, assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. Hiking over uneven terrain requires more energy than walking on a level surface, so it burns more calories. If you are hiking uphill, your body has to work even harder, he says. A rigorous hike may offer many of the same physical benefits as interval training, which alternates low- and high-intensity exercise to increase cardiovascular fitness. During a hike, your heart rate goes up as you move up an incline and drops when you head downhill."

She Tries To Improve Her Sleep

Ruhl is working on improving her sleep. She talked about this in this Instagram post's caption. "I was having a really hard time falling asleep. I tried OTC methods but found it hard to find things that helped that didn't make me groggy. This month I have been trying out different methods and am sharing some of my favs! I have been falling asleep more quickly and sleeping throughout the night." Ruhl also revealed in the caption that some of the methods she is using are drinking tart cherry juice, taking baths, and using essential oils.

She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health

Ruhl shared some of her wellness secrets in the caption of this Instagram post. One thing she is working on is taking care of her mental health. Ruhl captioned the post, "In 2023, I experienced depression that decreased my desire to be active, go outside, drink enough water, socialize as much, take my vitamins, keep my apartment clean, etc and also resulted in over eating and drinking. I stopped wearing my apple watch because I knew I didn't want to see my activity. As a result, I was completely honest with my therapists on how to better cope and achieve my goals in baby steps. I am focusing more on my strides than setbacks. I am optimistic about 2024 because I have the tools needed to move forward in a healthier way."

She's Comfortable With Herself

Ruhl is all about being comfortable with herself and her body. She also talked about this in the caption of the previous Instagram post. "One thing I am proud of, is my constant growth in not letting my weight dictate my life. I weighed myself for the first time in months and realized I had gained 30 lbs. In a past life, this would be debilitating. I would isolate myself from friends, wouldn't partake in activities that exposed my body, and would obsess over it. I went to Mexico and instead of avoiding a pool, only wearing a cover up, and avoiding activities where I was unable to wear a cover up, I had SO much fun and didn't think about walking from pool to pool, assuming everyone around me was judging me."

She's Valuing Her Health

Ruhl also revealed in the previous Instagram post's caption that she is valuing her overall health, and shared some specific things she is doing. "I am wearing my apple watch to ensure I am on my feet enough. I bought a smart water bottle to track the amount of water I consume. I have a set schedule for deep cleaning my apartment. I am tracking my vitamin intake. I am calling friends and family vs binge eating or drinking when bored. I have cut off alcohol unless there are weekend plans. I have gotten back into my skincare routine. I am cooking vs eating out."
