Sunisa Lee In Workout Gear Is "The Gold Standard"
Olympic gymnast Sunisa Lee is celebrating her new partnership with Lululemon by sharing pictures of the exciting collaboration. Lee, 21, posted official snaps of herself on Instagram wearing two-piece dark blue workout gear, doing gymnastic poses and jumps. "The gold standard @lululemon !!!🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻" she captioned the post. "Been waiting for this one!!!" commented fellow Olympian Luisa Blanco. Here's how Lee stays fit, focused, and ready for the next challenge.
Training Routine
Lee trains for hours every day. "In college, you can only practice 20 hours a week, and for an elite level, I practice eight hours a day," she told Elite Daily. "I had to choose one, but college is always going to be there, and I know that I want to go back after. So after this Olympics, I'll probably go back and finish… I also go on hot girl walks."
Journaling For Mental Health
Lee journals and does therapy to protect her mental health. "I love journaling things down and writing how I feel because I'm a very shy person, so I'll never say things out loud," she told Well+Good. "Even therapy was hard for me at first because I always felt so shy about how I felt. Journaling and therapy has definitely been something that's changed the game for me because now I'm able to write down how I feel or tell someone how I feel and know where it stemmed from, rather than just going out there and kind of hoping I do well."
Getting Stronger
Lee is focused on getting stronger after being diagnosed with kidney disease in 2023. "The kidney disease took me out for a couple of months," she told E! News. "I just got a lot weaker because I wasn't in the gym training—I've been doing a lot of physical therapy and try to keep my body as healthy as possible and feeling good because it's gonna be a really long season."
Hype Routine
Lee has a specific pre-competition routine. "I take 2 1/2 hours to get ready," Lee tells POPSUGAR. "And while I'm getting ready, I always listen to the same playlist over and over and just pick my favorite songs. Because I don't want to listen to a song that I don't know before I'm competing — I gotta get myself hyped up."
Positive Affirmations
Lee keeps herself motivated with positive affirmations. "It will always end in a 'You got this,' 'You're amazing,' or 'You've overcome so much,' and that this isn't the end of the world," she told Well+Good. "I just focus on keywords and telling myself those words of affirmation or remembering my 'why.' I tell myself all the positive things because I am my biggest critic at the end of the day."
