Boost Your Mood: Just 20 minutes of movement can release those feel-good hormones. 2. Build Strength: Every rep gets you closer to a stronger, healthier you. 3. Clear Your Mind: Sweat helps shake off the stress and bring in the clarity. 4. More Energy: Moving your body now will leave you feeling energized all day. 5. In her Instagram video, Diana is seen strength training. The Mayo Clinic states that doing exercises with weights has a lot of benefits. “Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.”

She Does Lunges

Diana is also seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that doing this has a lot of benefits for your body. “They’re a form of unilateral training, which means you’re working only one limb or side of the body at a time. And unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side. And with unilateral training, because it involves balance, you’re working your core muscles, too, according to the American Council on Exercise.”

She Does Step-Ups

Diana is seen doing step ups with a high knee and a weight in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic states that doing this exercise has a lot of benefits. “A step-up is a simple body resistance exercise that works muscles in the legs and buttocks. A step-up targets the quadriceps, here, and hamstrings, here, as well as the gluteal muscles in the buttocks. This is a good general lower body conditioning exercise.”

She’s Learned To Say No

Diana revealed in this Instagram post that she has learned to set boundaries and say no. “I used to struggle with this so much,” she wrote. “I’d be the one bending over backward. Making sure everyone around me was taken care of…Trying to keep everyone happy…Always thinking I had to be everything for everyone. And honestly, I thought that was the only way to be a ‘good’ friend, partner, or family member. But over time, I noticed something. Each ‘yes’ I gave out freely… Each time I overextended myself… I felt a little more depleted and a little more distant from who I was. I wasn’t just saying ‘yes’ to others, I was slowly saying ‘no’ to myself. No to my peace. No to my energy. No to my own needs and dreams. Learning to say ‘no’ was like a lightbulb moment.”
