How To Build a Body Like David Beckham—His Go-to Workouts & Protein Shake

Former English football star David Beckham has been a longtime fitness icon—and for good reason. The six-foot-tall, muscle-of-a-man has been very open when it comes to sharing his workouts, diet, and wellness habits. He recently chatted with Men's Health as the magazine's cover star and said that he "never missed a workout for two decades."
So if you're a fan of his physique, here's how to build a body like David Beckham.
David Beckham Trains With His Wife, Victoria Beckham
Beckham works out with his wife, Victoria, which makes his training fun rather than feeling like work.
"My wife keeps me motivated… and we enjoy it," the celeb told Men's Health.
Beckham also trains with one of his good friends and former Team GB judo, Bobby Rich.
"I've been trying to get Victoria to work out with Bob for years and she finally agreed," he said. "We now do five days a week, sometimes six, together. I love training with Victoria. We give each other plenty of grief. She's not very good at listening to Bobby… She does her own thing."

He Focuses on Conditioning and Strength Training
What exactly is his focus at the gym? Conditioning and strength training.
"These days… the leg strength is already there, and the body strength is something that I really focus on," Beckham pointed out. "I used to hate pull-ups with a passion. I could literally only do two or three. Now, we do them most days. I feel good."
He's always game for "any fitness challenge," and enjoys SoulCycle, boxing, and Barry's Bootcamp.
Outside of the gym, Beckham revealed, "I play padel three times a week and work out every day—especially when I'm in Miami."

He Feels Amazing at 49
What does being 49 and soon-to-turn-50 mean for Beckham? Well, he feels spectacular.
"Do you know what, my body's actually feeling better than it has done for a long time. People ask where I feel it the most—is it my knees or my ankles? My achilles was a bad injury towards the end of my playing career but it never troubles me now, despite rupturing it," he said.

Cooking Is a "Real Passion" for Beckham
With one look at his Instagram, Beckham seems to really enjoy flexing his chef skills. He can flip a mean pancake—that's for sure!
"Cooking is a real passion for me now. It's something I'm so proud of," he told Men's Health. "When we harvest the honey and I'm sat there in my kitchen looking at it all, I get quite emotional. I turn to my kids looking for respect and they're like, 'Yeah, whatever, Dad.' It's so satisfying for me, though."
Beckham's home in the Cotswolds features beehives, a chicken coop, and a vegetable garden.
As far as workout nutrition goes, Beckham usually whips up a protein shake, complete with coconut water, two bananas, almonds, creatine, and ice.
