Jason Kelce might not be playing football anymore, but he's still keeping himself busy. He and his wife Kylie Kelce recently welcomed their fourth daughter, Finnley "Finn" Anne Kelce, the end of March. Jason and his brother Travis Kelce are continuing their successful sports podcast, New Heights. Plus, he's also changing his body up.

Jason Kelce has been open about his wellness journey. According to E! News, the celeb dropped 20 pounds since he retired from the NFL in 2024. In addition, he's participating in a weight-loss challenge "on who can lose the most body fat percentage but still gain muscle" with Beau Allen, a former teammate of his on the Eagles.

Here are the healthy habits Jason follows that are helping him lose weight and stay fit.

He Understands His Diet

The former Eagles star opened up about his approach to eating in an interview with Men's Health.

"You understand calories and diet and exercise more because you need to gain weight [for football]. You end up getting really good at knowing how to lose and gain weight, because you already had done that before," Jason told the outlet. "I can look at a plate of food and I can know if I've eaten more calories than I'm burning off or less, and if I've had the right amount of protein, or if I need more protein if I want to maintain muscle—you just get used to that process. And I think that's why I'm a big proponent of anybody that wants to lose weight or gain weight, of understanding macronutrients and understanding serving sizes."

He Chooses Exercises That Preserve His Joint Health

Jason Kelce is focusing on keeping his body functioning well. The former pro footballer told Men's Health that he focuses on preserving his joints when he works out.

"There's still a right amount of stressors that you want to put on your joints to preserve them. So now the real thing I'm trying to do, I still want to go out and run. I just want to do it the right way, where I want to run on grass as opposed to asphalt. Or I jump rope so I'm still getting my ankles to absorb impacts. I think that doing the right amount is the goal now. I guess I'd rather do that than all of a sudden go way too light, because I know a lot of guys have done that. Then all of a sudden, they almost end up losing the ability to even run."

He Mixes Up His Workouts

Jason includes variety in his workout regimen—specifically, he breaks his fitness up into different workout blocks.

He told Men's Health, "I could be doing a hypertrophy block for a month. Then there might be an explosive block, even though I might start doing them less, which would be your hang cleans and your Olympic movements, your box jumps. And then you might get to power, which is kind of your five-by-five type blocks, where you really are starting to push weight and get it up."

He Has A Goal Weight

Jason previously shared what his goal weight is in an interview with GQ Sports, telling the outlet, "I don't want to get too small. I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size. So for me, I feel like for some reason, 250 to 260 feels like I'll be still big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack. But I'll still be able to have that stature a little bit. Right now, I'm about 277. I'm almost 20 pounds down right now. It's hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children."
