Demi Moore Is a True Trailblazer for Women in Film

Confident and oh-so-savvy, Demi Moore is on fire—and her flame's not burning out anytime soon. The 62-year old actress was recently named one of the world's "most influential people" by Time Magazine, and she truly is. It all began in the era of St. Elmo's Fire—and Demi's spark has only grown stronger. The celeb recently starred in Taylor Sheridan's Landman and horror film The Substance, the latter of which she received a Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and an Academy Award nomination.
Demi Moore's Legendary Career Moves
Not only has Demi Moore aced her career in front of the camera; she's made great strides behind the camera as well. The icon posed nude for the cover of Vanity Fair in 1991 while seven months pregnant. Demi's cover made waves—not just for how spectacular she looked, but for the bold statement it made. Pregnancy wasn't slowing her down. In fact, she was just getting started.
Demi rose to become Hollywood's top-earning actress after negotiating a $12.5 million deal—a salary comparable to her male counterparts—for her role in Striptease in 1996, according to Time. (This was a truly bad*ss move!)
"I think the interesting piece is that when I became the highest-paid actress—why is it that, at that moment, the choice was to bring me down? I don't take this personally. I think anyone who had been in the position that was the first to get that kind of equality of pay would probably have taken a hit. But because I did a film that was dealing with the world of stripping and the body, I was extremely shamed," the actress shared on The New York Times' "The Interview" podcast during her promotion of The Substance.
These days, $12.5 million per movie is a drop in the bucket for Demi. Gwyneth Paltrow, one of Demi's close friends, told Time, "There are women now who have broken a $20 million-per-movie salary, and it's not on the front page of anything. They always say when you're first through the thicket, you get all the scratches. She was that person."

The Actress's Take on Aging
The fact that Demi has entered the 60s club isn't slowing her down one bit. After all, age is only a number. The superstar explained it best to Time.
"There is a really interesting aspect to redefining how we see women in their 60s—what that really means, and the limitations that have been imposed upon us societally, but even more importantly, what we've imposed on ourselves," Demi shared. "In fact, this is an incredibly powerful, exciting, and alive time."

What She's up to Now
What's she up to now? More recently, Demi has been involved in the filming of Landman Season 2. The celeb also recently filmed a sci-fi adventure comedy, I Love Boosters.
So what's next? Future possibilities are endless for Demi Moore, who looks like the boss she is sitting on Time's cover in high heel pumps and tuxedo cuffs, titled, "The World's Most Influential People DEMI MOORE" That's what's next!
"I'm always careful about not projecting too much into the future. That doesn't mean that I'm excluding having goals or desires. It's just to keep me staying present," she told the outlet, adding her desire to do an action film with with actresses Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo, and Gwendoline Christie.
