Millie Bobby Brown Is Obsessed with This Classic Drink—and We Get It

Millie Bobby Brown has been in the news a ton recently while promoting her latest sci-fi film on Netflix, The Electric State, alongside Chris Pratt. During the press tour, the actress rocked the coolest '90s-inspired outfits, including a Giorgio Armani 1998 Dress she borrowed from Gwyneth Paltrow and Paris Hilton's shimmery pink halter dress.
The celeb shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast, "The Electric State is based in the '90s. So I was like, 'I want everything I wear on this press tour to be '90s archive.'"
Millie Bobby Brown absolutely has her own creative sense of style and taste—including when it comes to her beverage of choice. She recently shared some of her favorite recipes in a Vogue interview, and we are all ears.
Millie Bobby Brown Loves a Nostalgic Drink: The Shirley Temple
On a night out, some of the popular choices of today include an extra dirty martini, an espresso martini, or an Aperol spritz. Millie, however, prefers to keep things extra-classic with a refreshing Shirley Temple.
The nostalgic, non-alcoholic beverage is named after childhood actress Shirley Temple and came into play in the 1930s. It's typically made with ginger ale, grenadine, and topped off with a maraschino cherry. Not only is it tasty; it's what we would describe as an aesthetically pleasing beverage.
Millie revealed to Vogue that she's been a fan of Shirley Temples ever since she was young, and this has lasted into adulthood. "I grew up in the industry always going to fancy dinners and meeting fancy people, and to feel fancy myself, I would order a Shirley Temple. And now growing up and being 21, my preference is always going to be a Shirley Temple."

Now, if you want to whip up a Shirley Temple exactly how Millie likes hers, here's how it's done.
Grab yourself a tall glass and fill it with ice. Next, add "a splash" of grenadine. Then, squeeze the fresh juice from a lime wedge. Millie prefers using Sprite instead of the traditional ginger ale route, so fill your glass with Sprite. Garnish your beverage with the squeezed lime wedge—and don't forget your maraschino cherry! Millie mixes up her drink and then gives it a taste.
If you want to get a little fancy, you can replace the lime with an orange wedge or slice on your glass. Another way to dress up your drink is to add an extra pop of color with a sprig of fresh mint to the top of your glass.
You can also get creative with your cherries and replace the maraschino with Italian Amarena cherries, which are soaked in a decadent syrup, or Montmorency cherries, which are more tart.
Be right back—we're heading out to whip up some Shirley Temples.
