Salma Hayek may be 58, but she is still looking amazing. Recently, she made her debut in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. In it, Salma posed in a green bikini in the pool. Her impressive figure and skin were on display. How does Salma Hayek look so good? Here are 5 of her skincare, wellness, and workout secrets.

1

She Doesn’t Care How She Looks

For Salma, beauty isn’t something she stresses out about. “It’s funny; I think I was more desperate when I was younger, and I’m less desperate now that my face is starting to fall apart,” she said to Bustle. “However, I think it has to do with growing wiser with the years and becoming more comfortable in your skin. I’m a mother; I’m a wife. I want my kids not to feel that I am trying to become their age, and also that they can read my face in a room full of people. I want them to see the expression on my face when I’m proud of them or when I’m angry at them.”

Salma shares some of her skincare secrets in an interview with The Cut. In it, she revealed that she doesn’t believe in the popular trend of washing her face in the morning. “I never wash my face in the morning,” she said. “I think it’s bad for your skin. I just moisturize. I really wash my face at night.”

She Meditates

Salma shared some of her favorite self-care routines in an interview with Bustle. “Meditation,” she said. “Pretty much every day. I love it… I invented my own style, so it’s not boring. I can do it till they come and drag me out of my room. I can go for three hours. I just access energy, and I’m like tripping for hours.”

She Loves To Dance

One way Salma keeps herself in shape is by dancing. “My body moves sometimes during my meditations, so I guess that’s exercise,” she said in her Bustle interview. “I also love to dance. My daughter also loves to dance, so we dance a lot in my house. I had to take a break from makeup to dance this morning because they were playing a good song.” Salma also shared this video on Instagram of herself dancing with Eugenio Derbez.

She Listens To Her Skin

When it comes to skincare, Salma tells Bustle that she has to switch it up depending on the circumstance. “My skin has always been moody, and it has taught me to listen to it,” she said.  “Sometimes, the skin needs pleasure and connection through touch and your senses. There are days when just massaging my face with the right oil, with the right scent, it feels like my skin is revitalized. There is one oil, The Beauty Sandwich SS01 Secret Sauce, and it smells so good and helps to revive my skin. Sometimes I use a serum—I like the Joanna Vargas serum—and then, afterward, I put the oil. Sometimes I apply a serum, followed by a light cream, and then I wait 20 minutes before applying a heavy cream. I still like La Mer. But I don’t do the heavy night cream every night because your skin gets spoiled and used to it, and doesn’t work as hard at night. I go with the flow.”
