Sarah Michelle Gellar In Workout Gear Celebrates "Throwback Thursday"

The actress took a Pilates class.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is best known for being Buffy Summers on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The show is getting a reboot, and she recently announced that her successor in the reboot will by Ryan K. Armstrong. Sarah recently shared a video on Instagram of herself and her friends taking a Pilates class. In it, she wore a black set of workout gear. Sarah captioned the post, "#throwbackthursday Throwing in back to my birthday, when all I wanted was to workout with @marymillermethod and my girls @benitalitt @kaylaewell (and not pictured @sophiejulia ) a perfect day if you ask me 🎂 🎉"

She Does Pilates

As you can see from her Instagram post, Pilates is one of Sarah's go-to workouts. According to research done by Better Health, Pilates has a lot of health benefits. "The health benefits of Pilates include: improved flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the 'core muscles' of your body), balanced muscular strength on both sides of your body."

She Thinks About The Food She Eats

When it comes to her diet, Sarah makes sure to eat healthy. One way she does so is by putting a lot of thought into her diet. "I always make sure to look at food holistically," she said to Parade. "It's not just about the food I ate today, but the food I ate this week or this month. Because as you get older, you realize it's about the whole picture."

She Strength Trains

Sarah likes to lift weights to keep herself in shape. She talked about how she first started lifting in her Parade interview. "I've added lifting into my life. That's something I've always avoided, especially as an actor. You play these characters and you can't be shredded, and you have to look a certain way. As you get older, you realize, as a female, you have to focus on bone density. I work with a trainer once or twice a week for real strength training."

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Sarah has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it regularly. She shared her routine in an interview with Shape. "It's about making sure that every night, I wash my face. And it's not just wash it and go to bed. I wash it, I rub it, I prep it, I give it minerals, you know, the same way you would treat the rest of your body."

She Does Streaming Workouts

When Sarah's on the road, she turns to online workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared her favorite in her Shape interview. "Yes, I'm biased, but I happen to love Amanda Kloots' subscription service, and I use it a lot. I feel like I'm in one of her classes, which makes me really happy. Sarah says that she typically puts the workouts on the TV in her hotel rooms.
