Padma Lakshmi In Two-Piece Loungewear Does AMA About Cookbook

The TV host answered some questions on Instagram

Padma Lakshmi knows food. She hosted Top Chef for years and she currently hosts Taste The Nation. Padma is also a renoud cookbook author. Her newest book is called Padma’s All American, and she recently promoted it on Instagram. Padma did an AMA where she revealed things like her favorite recipe in the book and her approach to cooking. She captioned the post, “In case you missed it! We had an AMA (that stands for “ask me anything”—yet another term #littlehands had to explain to me) about my new cookbook, Padma’s All American. Here are a few of your questions. Feel free to leave more in the comments 🌹” Here are 5 of Padma Lakshmi’s diet and exercise secrets.

1

She Eats A Lot Of Plant-Based Foods

While Padma will eat anything when she’s filming one of her shows, her typical diet is vastly different. “I’m mostly plant-based at home,” she revealed in an interview with People. “I’m not saying I’m a total vegetarian, but I tend not to eat that much red meat anyway in my personal life.”

2

She Boxes

One thing Padma does to keep herself in shape is box. “I’ve been boxing for over 20 years on and off when my joints permit,” she said to People. “I love boxing. I mean, as much as boxing has helped me physically, it’s done way more for me mentally. And I highly recommend it for anyone who’s looking to feel more grounded, more focused and more in their body, as well as have more clarity.”

3

She Cooks

Padma shared some of her favorite foods in an interview with EatingWell. She says that she likes to cook a healthy meal for her daughter each day. “We cook one fresh meal a day, every day. Right now, we cook like five different dishes throughout the day because I’m testing recipes for a new book that I’m working on, so there’s lots of food to choose from.

4

She Loves Fruit & Nuts As Snacks

Padma shared her favorite healthy snacks in her EatingWell interview. “I will often just slice up an apple and have it with some peanut butter, that’s a great snack for me. I love just a handful of almonds—I think anything we can do to have nuts and fruits, those good fats and natural sugars that we may crave are better than eating things we can’t pronounce.”

5

She Loves Squash

Padma loves squash, and shared one of her favorite recipes with EatingWell. “I know everybody is into toasts, like avocado toast, but I’ve done a variation of one with butternut squash, and it’s amazing. Squash is great this time of year, and so I’ve been cooking up a lot of butternut squash and honeynut squash.”
