Maria Menounos Shows Off Abs & Says “Summer’s Here”

The TV host posed in front of a wall of flowers on Instagram.

Maria Menounos is a woman of many talents. She’s a TV host. She’s a podcast host. And she’s a wellness expert. Her tips clearly work, as she’s never been afraid to show off her impressive figure on social media. Maria recently flashed her abs on Instagram. In a post, she stood in front of a wall of flowers wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. Maria captioned the post, “Jasmine’s poppin, summer is here, and life is GOOD! 🌸❤️☀️” How did Maria Menounos get those abs? Here are 5 of her diet and exercise secrets, and the photos that prove they work.

1

She Walks

One way Maria keeps herself in shape is by going on walks. “A good walk with a loved one or friend is amazing,” she said in an interview with Women Fitness. “When I wrote The EveryGirl’s Guide to Diet and Fitness, I learned that the cultures that lived the longest all had something in common – they walked a lot! I’ll do a few minutes on the treadmill, too.”

2

She Follows The 80/20 Rule

When it comes to her diet, Maria uses the 80/20 rule. “Currently, I’m leaning toward a paleo diet of mostly greens, fish and red meat, but I still splurge,” she told Women Fitness. “As I said in The EveryGirl’s Guide to Diet and Fitness and The EveryGirl’s Guide to Cooking, I hold to an 80-20 plan. 80% of all the foods I intake are healthy with 20% less so. And I try eating things pulled from the ground. I am by no means strict with my diet. I love nachos and potato skins and the rest. I just try to limit portions.”

She Cooks

Maria is a great cook, and even has her own cookbook, The EveryGirl’s Guide To Cooking. She revealed to Prevention that all the recipes in her book are meals that helped her lose weight. “I wanted to make a cookbook that was simple, fast, and easy, so women could take control of their diet. That’s how I lost 40 pounds—I took control of my diet, and I started cooking my own food.”

4

She Uses Leg Weights

Maria likes to wear weights on her legs to get a workout in while going about her day. “What I’ve always tried to do is incorporate workouts into my other tasks to make it more manageable to have an easy daily workout routine,” she explained in this post on her website. “I recently discovered these amazing leg weights called ‘Bala bangles’ and I’m in love. They are basically updated, cuter leg weights. Throughout my day to burn some extra calories I wear my Bala Bangles and push myself to take the stairs, fit in my calf-raises or even do tricep pushes off my counter while I am cooking dinner. I know it sounds too easy or kinda silly, but hey – I’m still moving!”

5

She Loves Almonds

One of Maria’s favorite healthy foods is almonds. “I keep almonds in my purse, my car — it’s the best snack because they don’t go bad and can’t melt,” she told People Magazine. “And if you’re prepared, you won’t make bad choices, like going through the drive through. I’ll eat a handful of almonds to get me through the hour I’m in traffic before I can eat a meal.”
