Courtney Stodden in Bikini Is “Sunburnt and 6 Days Sober”

Here is what to know about their diet and fitness habits

Courtney Stodden is celebrating sobriety in a bikini. In a new social media post, the star shows off their fit figure in a skimpy swimsuit, discussing their sobriety journey. “Sunburnt and 6 days sober,” the 30-year-old captioned the post. The next day, they added “1 week no alcohol! 🥹🩵 Week 2… I’m coming for you 💪🏻 #healing.” How does Stodden approach health and wellness? Here is their top diet and fitness habits.

1

Sobriety

Stodden used to be a big wine drinker, but now maintains a sober lifestyle. “Alcohol, I’m breaking up with you. It’s been a toxic relationship for years. Something I used to cope, to escape, to survive. But it’s hurt me more than it’s ever helped me—publicly and privately. Last night was the last time. I’m done letting it control me. I’m done feeling sick and ashamed. I want to be fully present in my life. I want to face my past, my trauma, and my current reality with clear eyes and real strength. To those who understand this battle—thank you. Please respect my space as I walk this new path. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary,” Stodden captioned a July 15 post.

Running

Courtney loves to run “My little @wagsandwalks rescue Fendi really enjoyed our morning run 😍 🐶 #happy #staymotivated #rescuedog,” they wrote about one post. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is excellent for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.

Meditation

Courtney meditates. “Meditating in a beautiful cemetery… seriously find peace in graveyards,” she captioned a since-deleted post. “Sounds weird but hey… whatever works #meditation.” “When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Yoga

Courtney also enjoys yoga. “Around 11 AM, my yoga instructor comes over for a private session,” they told Vice. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”

Hiking

Courtney is also a hiker. “Take a hike,” they captioned another post. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues.
