Lizzo has never been afraid to show off her body, no matter what it looks like. She has been open about her weight loss and health journey in recent years. According to a recent Instagram post, she’s seeing results. Lizzo posted a set of photos of herself on the beach and on a boat at sunset. In it, she wore a gold bikini. Lizzo captioned the post, “Mother of dragons.” How did she get her bikini body? Here are 5 of her secrets.

She Stopped Eating A Vegan Diet

Lizzo previously was a vegan. However, after having testing done, she realized that she needed to eat animal protein. “Someone suggested I try a Japanese diet,” she said in an Instagram video, as reported by E! News. “Because it’s one of the healthiest diets in the world, and it has some of my favorite foods. After tests and research, I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight, and helped with my mental fog.”

She’s Consistent

Lizzo makes sure to be consistent with her workouts. She encouraged others to do the same in a TikTok, as reported by E! News. “Changing your body does not always change your problems or solve them. But what I will say is everything gets better when you put a little bit of focus, a little bit of time, a little bit of intention and a lotta bit of love into it.”

She Works Out To Feel Better

Lizzo makes sure to have the right approach to working out. In a TikTok, as reported by People Magazine, she says that she doesn’t workout to lose weight. “Once I started working out for mental health, to have balanced mental health or endorphins, so that I don’t look at myself in the mirror and feel ashamed of myself, and feel disgusted with myself, exercise has helped me shift my mind, not my body. My body is gonna change, everyone’s bodies change. That’s life.”

She Jumps Rope

Lizzo shares a lot of her favorite workouts on social media. One thing she likes to do is jump rope. Lizzo shared this TikTok of herself doing a jump rope workout. She is also seen jumping rope in this video on her Instagram. According to Piedmont, jumping rope has a lot of benefits. “It’s an amazing total body exercise that engages all of the major muscle groups,” says Clinton Maclin, ACSM CEP-CPO, an exercise physiologist and safety coach at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center.  “You can use it to warm up or as a stand-alone exercise, and it incorporates cardiovascular exercise and resistance training.”

She Drinks Lemon Water

Lizzo makes sure to eat a healthy diet. She shared what she typically eats in a day in this Instagram video. Lizzo likes to start the day off by drinking lemon water. According to The Cleveland Clinic, drinking lemon water first thing in the morning has a lot of benefits. “It’s a good way to work vitamin C and antioxidants into your everyday diet. And lemon juice is a natural flavor for your drinks, instead of depending on sugar or flavorings. Lemon water is low in calories and high in vitamins and nutrients.”
