Abbey Lee Swears By These 5 Tips for Her Beach Body: "Trip Looks Amazing"

Learn how she uses natural products like coconut oil and olive oil to prioritize her health and skincare routine.

Abbey Lee Swears By These 5 Tips for Her Beach Body: "Trip Looks Amazing"
Abbey Lee / Instagram

Abbey Lee doesn’t just bring effortless beauty to the beach—she swears by a holistic approach to staying in top shape. From nourishing her skin with natural products to keeping her wellness in check no matter where she is, the model-turned-actress has mastered the art of looking and feeling her best. Whether she’s jet-setting for a photoshoot or indulging in a self-care day, her routine is all about balance, hydration, and a little bit of luxury. If you’re looking for simple but effective ways to elevate your beauty and wellness game, Abbey’s go-to tips are worth stealing.

She Uses Natural Products

Lee shared her wellness secrets in an interview with Russh. She says that she likes to use natural products on her skin. “When it comes to beauty, I always avoid products with unnatural chemicals whenever possible. I like simple, earthy stuff. The skin is the largest organ of the body and people can forget that and be reckless about what they smother it in.”

She Prioritizes Her Health

Lee makes sure to prioritize her health. She tells Russh that her dad advised her to have this attitude. “My dad has always reminded me that above all, health comes first. And he means all forms. Mental health, physical health, emotional health, etc. So, he always encouraged me to invest in my health and try to heal pain so I could cope with the other parts of life.”

She Loves Coconut Oil & Olive Oil

Lee shared her favorite body skincare products with ELLE. “I use coconut oil in the shower. I have dry skin so I lather it on while I’m in the shower and the hot water and towel dry gets rid of the excess but leaves enough to let sink in. I can’t get enough of the summer smell! I also love hot baths. I pour about a cup of olive oil in there—it’s heavenly! You come out feeling super silky and smelling like Italy!”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Lee shared her skincare routine in an interview with ELLE. “I always change things up with my skin routine, but at the moment I use an Aesop Facial Scrub a few times a week, Witch Hazel as a toner, and a gorgeous moisturizer from Lush,” she says. “On the days that I don’t exfoliate, I use an Aesop face cleanser—trying to keep it all as natural as I can. Most of the time, I don’t wash my face more than once a day.”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin While Traveling

Lee makes sure to stay consistent with skincare. Even while she’s traveling. Lee shared her tips for skincare while traveling in her ELLE interview. “I’m a sucker for a facial and try to have one every now and then with extractions. I don’t even have a usual place, I just look for somewhere that looks decent in whatever city I’m in. My in-flight routine is pretty simple, I drink a ton of water and moisturize my face before I board. After a big shoot with a lot of makeup I just wash it off before I go to bed. Very simple!”

Luann de Lesseps is a Real Housewife and keeps it very real when it comes to her fitness. The 57-year-old looks years younger thanks to a focus on health and wellness. (It also helps her stamina at work, starring in “Countess and Friends.”) How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Luann de Lesseps stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Does Yoga

Luann is one of the countless celebs who does yoga and for good reason. Try “Ashtanga. This type is highly structured, with specific poses taught in six rounds with increasing difficulty. It is a vigorous and faster paced yoga with one pose flowing into the next, and may include a spiritual component. Music is not typically used and a class can last from 90 minutes to two hours. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace but to also challenge themselves,” says Harvard Health.

2. She Works Out Her "Arms, Leg Lifts and Abs”

Global Strays 4th Annual BenefitPatrick McMullan/PMC via Getty Images

Abs are a key ingredient of any workout. “Your core — which includes back, side, pelvic, and buttock muscles — forms a sturdy central link between your upper and lower body. Much like the trunk of a tree, core muscles need to be strong, yet flexible. A weak or inflexible core impairs how well your arms and legs function, draining power from many of the moves you make. For these reasons, core fitness should be part of every exercise program,” says Harvard Health.

3. She Uses a Treadmill

The Blonds - Front Row & Backstage - September 2022 New York Fashion Week: The ShowsJamie McCarthy/Getty Images

Luann uses a treadmill for cardio or to warm up before a workout. “Money can’t buy you abs. Working out and staying healthy! 🏃🏻‍♀️,” she captioned a post while jogging on one. “Everybody’s always asking about my workout routine. I start with running for about 15 minutes to get the blood flow going,” she said.

4. She Had Tried the Mediterranean Diet

“Switch from whatever fats you use now to extra virgin olive oil. Start by using olive oil in cooking, and then try some new salad dressings with olive oil as the base. Finally, use olive oil in place of butter on your crusty bread,” says Harvard Health. “Choose lean poultry in moderate, 3- to 4-ounce portions. Save red meat for occasional consumption or use meat as a condiment, accompanied by lots of vegetables, as in stews, stir-fries, and soups. Eat more fish, aiming for two to three servings a week. Both canned and fresh fish are fine.”

5. She Once Gave Up Drinking

Luann once went dry. “First of all, I’m happy. Second of all, I’m not drinking so that makes me even happier and keeps the weight off, I gotta say.” She said she was “[j]ust being healthy and taking care of myself.” “If you don't drink alcohol, don't start because of potential health benefits. However, if you drink a light to moderate amount and you're healthy, you can probably continue as long as you drink responsibly. Be sure to check with your doctor about what's right for your health and safety,” says the Mayo Clinic.

Abbey Clancy, the presenter of Britain's Next Top Model, onetime contestant on the show itself and mother of four kids (with her husband, onetime footballer Peter Crouch), seems too busy to slip in workouts and have fun. But that’s just what she’s doing, as she shared photos from a vacation in Dubai. “Surfboard, surfboard,” she captioned two photos of her in a swimsuit, next to boards that say "Life is better at the beach." How does she stay so fit while keeping so busy? Read on to see 5 ways Abbey Clancy stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Drinks Green Juices

A smoothie made with kale or spinach can be full of belly-filling nutrients. When researchers at Columbia University crunched the numbers on six separate studies following dieters on either a smoothie-based plan (one or two smoothies a day) or a reduced-calorie plan, they found that both sets lost weight, but those on the smoothie-based plan experienced “significantly greater weight loss” at both the 3-month and 1-year marks. Just as important, after a year on the various plans, those who used the smoothie option had a significantly lower dropout rate.

2. She Works Her Core

The Global Awards 2018 - Arrivals - LondonIsabel Infantes/Getty Images

Clancy works her core hard. To work your core, try a Side Plank: 30 seconds each side. Lie on your left side resting your left forearm on the floor for support. Raise your hips up so your body forms a straight line and brace your abs—your weight should be on your left forearm and the edge of your left foot. Hold this position for 30 seconds, then lower your body and repeat on the right side. Focus on not only pressing up with the side of our obliques that are closest to the floor, but also draw your navel into your spine. If 30 seconds is too long, go until exhaustion and then switch sides; you will be able to increase your time with each workout as you get stronger at these.

3. She Does Pilates

The BRIT Awards 2020 - Red Carpet ArrivalsGareth Cattermole/Getty Images

The Cleveland Clinic spoke with lead yoga therapist Judi Bar who says: “Everything’s attached." “Pilates focuses more on muscle tone than building muscles and it specifically focuses on your core. While most people might consider just your abdomen to be the core of your body, Bar points out, it extends well beyond that,” says the Clinic. "With the core, besides the stomach area, you’re also talking about your sides, your back and your hips. What happens in your core affects the rest of your body.”

4. She Works Out to Get a Charge

"I like to workout when I feel tired or sluggish because it's not a weight maintenance thing as I'm lucky genetically,” she once told Radio One. There is science behind this. “Winded by grocery shopping or household chores? Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy to tackle daily chores.”

5. She Believes in Moderation

“I generally eat what I want to in moderation,” she has said. Consider moderating foods that your body tells you it doesn't want. “Many people experience bloating from dairy, and find that their stomachs become leaner after cutting down on the stuff,” says personal trainer Mark Langowski, in his book Eat This, Not That! For Abs. “While yogurt tends to be low in lactose, the natural sugar that causes bloating, milk and other non-fermented dairy products have higher levels. So consider eating dairy in moderation, focusing on the full-fat varieties.”

She tells Women Fitness, “There have been times where my skin and hair haven’t been in the best condition and I believe it’s lifestyle and diet that cause and can fix that! When my hair was damaged from travelling I made a conscious effort to eat better: more fruit and veg and more iron. I’m lucky I’ve always had good skin but I preach that at least 2 liters of water a day will help to nourish your skin and hair. And I minimise dairy products and refined sugar. I also try and have as many red skinned fruits and veg in my diet as I believe it helps with healthy skin tone!”

1. She Loves Pilates

Back in the day Ambrosio would be "off to Pilates class, where I meet a friend and get in some girl time. It's important to break a sweat every day, and I love the way Pilates makes me feel long and lean." “As human beings, we are creatures of habit, We walk a certain way, we take the steps a certain way, we stand a certain way and we sit at our desk a certain way. So our muscles get imbalanced because of overuse and what Pilates does is help to counteract that,” says the Cleveland Clinic’s lead yoga therapist Judi Bar.

2. She’s Done the Tracy Anderson Method

"I am very focused and want to be in tip-top shape for the show, so I try to go [to the Tracy Anderson Method] almost every day of the week. Besides that, I [do] yoga, play volleyball on the beach, and take my kids swimming. I just love being outside," she told PopSugar.

3. She Uses Kettlebells

“In an ACE-sponsored study, researchers from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse concluded that, in addition to the predicted strength gains, kettlebell training improved core strength and dynamic balance, and increased aerobic capacity. With such a diverse increase in specific exercise markers, it’s no wonder kettlebell training continues to grow in popularity,’ says ACE.

4. This Has Been Her Daily Beauty Routine

“My daily routine is simple but effective. I cleanse my face, occasionally with exfoliator, and I love anti-aging serums that are packed full of vitamin C. BB creams with SPF are great too! How do you take care of your hair? About two or three times a week, after I've shampooed my hair, I apply an ultra-reparative mask from the tips to the lengths and leave it on for ten minutes. Every two months, I go to a salon for a deeply nourishing treatment that leaves my hair feeling fantastic,” she told Vogue France.

5. This is How She Slimmed Down

Back in the Victoria’s Secret days, “About a month before the show I cut out all carbs, and then the week before I stick to just vegetables, salads, fruit and a lot of protein,” she told Vogue. “Cruciferous veggies are loaded with water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins. Namely, they are packed with vitamin C, A, E, and K. Vitamin C assists in collagen formation, keeping your hair, skin, and nails growing healthily. Fat-soluble vitamins A, E, K work together to support our immune system and promote anti-aging. Eat a variety of these veggies and they will keep you looking and feeling healthy for years to come,” says our sister site Eat This, Not That!

Either way, you know that the actress, model, and TV host is stunning and has a gravity-defying body. How does she keep herself physically fit at 30? Here is everything you need to know about her diet, fitness, and self-care approach.

She Exercises For 30 Minutes Per Day

Antje the LennyLu x Puey Qui\u00f1ones Luxury Shoe Launch

Antje makes sure to move daily, but “Every day is different!” she told Women Fitness about her approach to exercise. “That’s my favorite part about my life. It keeps it interesting and keeps me on my feet. Some things I do keep in my everyday routine are my workouts. I make sure I hit the gym or do some type of physical activity every day, even if it’s just for 30 minutes.”

Strength Training

Sarah Morris/WireImage

Strength training is Antje’s go-to workout. “I lift weights 4 or 5 days a week. I focus on one or two muscle groups at a time and make sure to alternate them so they have time to recover throughout the week,” she says. “I lift for about an hour.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Walking on an Incline and Running Intervals

Antje Utgaard stops by the REVOLVE Festival

Vivien Killilea/Getty Images

Antje gets a lot of use out of the treadmill. “Before I lift I warm up by walking at an incline for 5-10 minutes,” she says. “And I always end my workout with running in intervals for 5-10 minutes.” Walking on an incline burns more calories than walking fast or even running on a flat surface, so many experts suggest upping your incline. A 2013 study even found that walking on a 2 to 7 percent incline increased heart rate by almost 10 percent compared to running on a flat surface.

SoulCycle

Another workout she loves? Cycling. “I also Soul Cycle 3 times a week, which is my new obsession,” she revealed. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is excellent for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

A "Laid Back" Diet and Hydration

“My diet is pretty laid back. If I have something big coming up I’ll obviously be more strict on myself but it’s also hard when you have my lifestyle and travel a lot. I try to eat as healthy as I can on a regular basis though. I always make sure to eat a lot of protein, mainly chicken and other lean meats. I also make sure to drink plenty of water!” she told Women Fitness. Why should you focus your meals around protein? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Sophie Turner’s Latest Photos Have Everyone Talking

Actress Sophie Turner is currently enjoying a vacation with friends in the beautiful Maldives. She recently shared a set of photos from the trip on Instagram. In them, Turner is seen snorkeling, bike riding, cooking, and spending time on the beach. She wore different swimsuits in the post, showing off her impressive figure, and got praise in the comments. Turner captioned the post, “Who knew that all it takes to be happy is tea tasting, perfume making, breathwork, sound therapy, spotting dolphins, watsu, cooking classes, turtle snorkeling, massages and getting burnt on the beach with your besties in the Maldives at @joalibeing.”

She Swims

Turner likes to swim to keep herself in shape. While on her Maldives vacation, she and her friends did some snorkeling. Swimming is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a 154-pound person who swims slow freestyle laps for 30 minutes burns 255 calories. But that amount varies depending on your weight, speed and stroke. Swim England reports that butterfly stroke burns the most calories, but because it can be so hard to learn and to maintain — especially for beginners — it’s not recommended as a weight loss go-to. Freestyle is the better option, and only after you’ve learned how to do it the right way.”

She Bikes

Sophie and a friend take a boardwalk cruise

Sophie Turner/Instagram

Turner is seen biking on the walkway by the beach in her Instagram post. Biking has a lot of health benefits. A Healthier Michigan states, “Biking is a calorie burner. All that work your body is doing by pedaling and balancing not only works muscles in your arms and core, but it counts as serious cardio exercise and burns calories with every spin of the wheels. By biking at a moderate pace, about 12 or 13 miles per hour, a person weighing 155 pounds burns nearly 300 calories in 30 minutes, according to statistics shared by Harvard University. Like to pedal faster? A person of that same weight doing a fast pace of 14 or 15 miles per hour burns more than 370 calories in 30 minutes.”

She Cooks

Sophie Turner sips on wine while cooking dinner

Sophie Turner/Instagram

Turner makes sure to eat a healthy diet. In her Instagram post, she is seen cooking a rice dish, and enjoying fresh vegetables. Cooking has a lot of health benefits. Harvard Health says it can help you eat better. “We already know that the more people cook at home, the healthier their diet, the fewer calories they consume, and the less likely they are to be obese or develop type 2 diabetes. A growing body of scientific evidence supports teaching patients how to cook meals at home as an effective medical intervention for improving diet quality, weight loss, and diabetes prevention.”

She Embraces Discomfort

Turner is open about her past struggles with an eating disorder. She revealed to British Vogue that she has learned to embrace her uncomfortable feelings to help her treat it. "I know when I'm in a bad headspace that the eating thing will always flare up. But now I regulate it by sitting in the discomfort and just getting used to that feeling of being full. It's all exposure therapy. I think life is exposure therapy."

She’s Comfortable With Her Body

Turner tells British Vogue that having her kids helped her be comfortable with her body. "I remember after I had my baby, my therapist asked me how I felt in my body. And of course I was like, 'Well, there's milk leaking from my breasts and I've been bleeding for a month.' Then she reminded me how amazing it is that our bodies can do this and how important it is to put all the nutrients in your body so that it can do that. I mean, it sounds so simple, but I never thought of my body in that way before."

She Strength Trains

In her Instagram post, Heward is seen doing exercises with weights. This has a lot of benefits. ACE Fitness states, “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Does Lunges
