The WNBA star promoter her Nike shoe on Instagram.

A’ja Wilson is one of the best players in the WNBA. She has been MVP three times, won the championship twice, and has won two gold medals with Team USA. A’ja also has a shoe out with Nike, and promoted it in a recent Instagram post. In it, she held up the pink sneaker while in her uniform. A’ja captioned the post, “God has been working overtime.” Here are 5 of A’ja Wilson’s fitness secrets.

1

She Moisturizes Her Skin

A’ja makes sure to take care of her skin. She tells Bustle that one of her biggest tips is keeping it moisturized. “I always make sure that my face is moisturized, washed, exfoliated — the whole nine — when I wake up in the morning. I picked up the Tatcha line from Sephora. They have a rice wash and an exfoliating cleanser that I use night and day, and a moisturizer and toner. They really help my skin clear up when I get acne from sweating.”

2

She Uses Resistance Bands

A’ja has to do a lot of lower body workouts to help with her running and shooting. She tells Bustle that she likes to use resistance bands when she does so. “In the weight room, where I’ll do whatever our coach suggests to make sure my leg and upper body workouts stay balanced. I like working with resistance bands to tighten my glutes. I don’t like to sweat or use a lot of weight, so I go for bodyweight workouts like lunges, squats, and clamshells. When I add a band, I feel the burn instantly.”

She Stays Hydrated

A’ja shared her tips for staying hydrated during a game to Bustle. “I don’t carry a water bottle around, but I do drink a lot of water. I hydrate myself with Ladder, an electrolyte packet that you can mix in. Sometimes I get tired of just straight water when I’m rehydrating on the bench during a game, so I’ll add that for some flavor.”

4

She Eats A Healthy Breakfast Skillet

A’ja makes sure to eat a healthy diet. She shared one of her favorite breakfasts with SELF. “My chef usually cooks this breakfast skillet with hash browns, bacon, peppers, and sausage. I’m not an egg person, so it sounds a little dry, but it’s like a casserole. It’s delicious, and sometimes she puts it in panini bread, which I eat with some mild salsa. Give me some orange juice along with it, and I’m good.”

5

She Gets Massages

One way that A’ja likes to recover from games and training is having massages done. “I have a massage therapist who comes over to my house when I’m in Vegas,” she told Parade. “It’s probably the best thing that I’ve ever spent money on in that way. It’s great recovery wise. It relaxes me. I tend to keep myself busy but stopping and taking a moment to decompress with a massage is great.”
