Alex Morgan is one of the greatest women’s soccer players of all time. She has played on the US Women’s Team, and won several World Cups. Morgan’s professional season is starting, and she shared photos of herself and her teammates on the field on Instagram. She captioned the post, “It’s good to be back.” How does she stay so fit? 1. She Tracks Her Sleep

Morgan shared some of her wellness secrets with MindBodyGreen. In it, she shared how she gets enough sleep each night. “I like to track my sleep. So with that, I've found there's an optimal window that I should be going to sleep and waking up. It's good for you to have your routine—trying to go to sleep and waking up at the same time. So for me, I've found it's really important that I'm not going to bed too late, and I need to make sure I'm getting the same amount of sleep each night. For me that's about eight and a half to nine hours of sleep.”

2. She Takes Vitamins

Morgan tells MindBodyGreen that she makes sure to take vitamins. “I know I need to be taking my vitamins. I actually love doing that with my daughter as well because she is the best reminder for me to take my vitamins. It's a fun experience for her. She likes to open all the vitamin pill boxes and pass me the vitamins in the morning, and then in the evening she likes to remind me when she gets home from school. It's cute.”

3. She’s Vegetarian

Morgan is a vegetarian, and shared some of her favorite foods with MindBodyGreen. “I do follow a vegetarian diet. So it's important that I work with my nutritionist to come up with the best recipes and meals to make sure I'm getting the best nutrients for my body to recover. [I need to eat in a way so my body is] optimal and ready for my games and training. So I eat a lot of grain bowls with rice and chickpeas, black beans, or lentils. In the morning I usually have a yogurt or a protein smoothie.”

4. She Keeps Her Skin Hydrated

Morgan makes sure to take care of her skin. She says to Buzzfeed that she makes sure to keep her skin hydrated and moisturized. “I think all my toiletries are a big thing. I always make sure to bring enough lotion for my face and body, because we go to a lot of dry places, like Salt Lake City, St. Louis, and Arizona. Combine that with being in the sun all the time, and keeping my skin hydrated is essential. It’s important to find the right moisturizer, serums, and, of course, sunscreen to moisturize and protect my skin.”

5. She Meditates

Morgan tells POPSugar that she likes to meditate. "A lot of people think of meditation as like, 'Oh, 30 minutes, you have to sit still,' and this or that, no — it can be a few minutes of just breathwork. It can be box breath: in [for] four, hold for four, out for four, hold for four. Things like that can really just help slow your heart rate, [and help you] think about one or two things, not a million things at once."
