Ali Wong In Workout Gear Does Squats With a Resistance Band
Ali Wong is preparing for her practically sold-out tour in Australia and New Zealand in July by making sure she is as fit as possible. Wong, 42, shared a video of herself wearing black joggers and a matching tank top, doing squats with a green resistance band. "AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND! Getting ready to come perform for you for the first time. Tix are moving fast so get yours before they sell out!" she captioned the post. Wong works incredibly hard to juggle her family and career—here's what some of her beauty and wellness habits look like.
Stretching Sessions
Wong made time for self-care while filming Beef with stretching sessions. She also hits the elliptical when she has time. "I had a giant yellow yoga mat that was swag from Big Mouth in my trailer, and whenever I had 15 minutes to spare, I would try to squeeze in a stretching session," she told Variety. "I mostly tried to sleep when I could. For most of Beef I didn't sleep. When I look at that show, I just see a really not healthy woman when I see myself. Even though we shot in L.A., it was hard because I didn't get to see my kids as much as I would have liked to. I think that really helped me identify with Amy because I'm always busy working."
Water and Wipes
Wong doesn't leave her home without water and wipes. "I panic if I don't have water with me. I carry a Tokidoki x ZoLi bottle," she told Us Weekly. "It's meant for kids. Jessica Alba was really sweet and sent me a huge Honest box, and it's like the gift that keeps on giving. I've had the wipes in my bag forever, and I always use them. Somehow, they just never run out."
Personal Style
Wong's first priority with fashion is comfort and freedom. "Women do look really glamorous when they wear a heel, but it just doesn't work for me," she told Into the Gloss. "I wear checkered slip-on Vans, and I like wearing a dress that's above the knee so I can move freely. It's interesting, now that I'm not pregnant, in that I don't want to wear anything super tight. I felt more comfortable wearing those things when I was pregnant—you can just stick out your gut and that's your silhouette."
Skincare and Sunscreen
Wong keeps her skincare routine simple with a focus on sun protection. "I wake up and wash my face with CeraVe Facial Foaming Cleanser," she told Into the Gloss. "If I'm strapped for time, I'll just wet Swisspers cotton rounds from Costco with micellar water from Caudalie and wipe my face. Sometimes I'll put Tatcha Violet C Brightening Serum on my face and neck, but most of the time I just use my Dermalogica Skin Recovery SPF 50 sunscreen."
Running and Yoga
Wong had a c-section with both her children, and says exercise made her feel like herself again. "I don't have the discipline to follow up with scar creams," she told Into the Gloss. "I just try to be grateful that I had two healthy daughters. The scar is much lower than you think it is—it's lower than a low back tattoo, but on the front—so the only person who can really see it is me. I do yoga and hike now, but when I was finally able to run three months after I gave birth for the second time, I would run for miles in Stanley Park in Vancouver. That's when I felt like myself again. I loved it so much."
