“Fitness is about consistency and dedication!"

Amanda Kloots is everywhere. She's a former Rockette. She's an actress. She's a TV host, best known for hosting CBS' The Talk. And according to a recent Instagram post, she's also a fitness maven. Kloots shared some of her favorite lower body workouts in the video. She captioned it, "Fitness is about consistency and dedication! So here are four moves you can do daily to strengthen your legs and glutes since it is swimsuit season 👙Each day is an opportunity to become a better version of yourself. Commit to working on your body and mind daily, and watch the results unfold."

1

She Works Her Legs

Kloots makes sure to work her lower body, as you can see from her Instagram post. According to Piedmont, doing leg exercises is very important. "Having strong glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles gives your body a strong foundation and can: Tone your lower body muscles. Boost your metabolism as you increase muscle mass. Give you a higher calorie burn as you train larger muscle groups. Improve your balance. Strengthen your bones."

Kloots shared her diet secrets in an interview with Fit For Broadway. "I became a vegetarian six months ago, so I don't eat meat," she said. "I have noticed changes in my body since doing that. I don't follow any specific diet otherwise, but I am a creature of habit so I tend to eat the same thing every day.  Lots of bananas, peanut butter, and sushi!"

She Jumps Rope

Kloots tells Well + Good that she likes to jump rope. "A lot of times, people think [jumping rope] is going to be easy because it's something they did when they were a kid," she says, "but it's actually a great workout. It takes stamina, it takes endurance, and it takes practice to get the coordination down. What I love about jump roping is that it's a challenge. So, start off slow and then work toward faster and longer jumping sessions over time. You'll begin to actually see yourself improving, which is always motivating in exercise."

She Does Dance Workouts

Being a dancer, Kloots naturally likes to do dance cardio. "I'm a fitness instructor at Body By Simone a boutique studio in Chelsea," she revealed to Fit For Broadway. "I train clients and teach classes sometimes up to three hours a day. The workout is dance based so it is very beneficial to keep my body in shape for dancing in the show each night. If I don't teach I love taking Nancy Bielski's ballet class at Steps."

She's Consistent

As Kloots revealed in her post's caption, she makes sure to be consistent with her fitness. She talked about this in an interview with Parade. "I think the best thing anybody can do is keep up a routine," Kloots said. "I try to think about exercise as something as routine as taking a shower or brushing my teeth. It's just part of my day. No matter how busy your day gets, if things come up during the holidays, it's already done because it's in your routine like taking a shower or brushing your teeth. So, that's my tip: Make it a part of your day, make it non-negotiable."
