Kirsten Dunst played Peggy Blumquist in season two. In an interview with Variety, she recalled times where she was asked to lose weight for roles, and when a teacher told her that she had to accept fat girl roles. Dunst said that these moments helped her to accept herself. “So what I always feel in these moments is that any young woman who has ever been put down by a teacher, by a friend, by even a parent, just don’t listen to any of it, because that’s what I did — I kept on going and I overcame my fears and got over my insecurities.”

2. Jesse Plemons

Jesse Plemons played Ed Blumquist in season two. He talked about his weight loss in an interview with Interview Magazine. “Something clicked in my head and I got tired of carrying all that extra weight around. I got asked to do a scene in this movie and I was playing a soldier, and I was like, 'I don’t know many soldiers that are my size.' So like everyone else, I started doing intermittent fasting, cut carbs, all that stuff. It’s easy if you just actually do it."

3. Jean Smart

80th Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsJon Kopaloff/Getty Images

Jean Smart played Floyd Gerhardt on season two. She tells EatingWell that she believes in eating a balanced diet. “My mantra at my house with my kids always is, ‘Did you eat anything green today,” Smart said. “I don't really care what you ate for lunch at school, but did you eat anything green? And if you didn't, please have something green with your dinner. That's basically my only requirement, not to go nuts with the sugar and try to eat something green.”

4. Jon Hamm

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,14:,Jon,Hamm,At,The,29thShutterstock

Jon Hamm played Sheriff Roy Tillman on season five. He talked about the importance of eating healthy to Bon Appetit. “Most of the food that we are presented with has been processed to within an inch of its life, so it's not exactly the most healthy thing you can eat. So I try to eat as fresh as I can, and try to stay away from as much of the cheap stuff as I can, too. I'm not above eating a packet of potato chips or something every now and again, but I do try to make those occasions more of a stand-alone rather than habitual.”

5. Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Los,Angeles,,Ca,-,October,15,,2011:,Mary,Elizabeth,WinsteadShutterstock

Mary Elizabeth Winstead played Nikki Swango in season three. She shared her skincare secrets with Into The Gloss. “I’ve been mixing it up lately and I try not to always wash my face in the morning. I have these Bioderma Crealine and Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water that I use in the morning because my skin gets more dry in the winter. All my stuff is from my facialist, Renée Rouleau, so she has a system that’s specific to my skin. Most of my stuff is from her and I’ve been working with her for years. She has these great Toning Cloths that she makes, that work really well to get makeup off. And I have really bad allergies and so in the morning, it’s really nice to use to wipe my eyes because they can be really red and itchy when I wake up.”

6. Jennifer Jason Leigh

FX's "Fargo" Year 5 Premiere - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Jennifer Jason Leigh played Lorraine Lyon in season five. She talked about what she enjoys about doing TV to AARP.org. “There's something very immersive about watching something scary from your own living room that's different than watching it in a theater with a lot of other people,” she says. “It feels more personal in a way. It feels like it's in your house."

7. Lamorne Morris

Lamorne Morris played Witt Farr in season five. To prepare for his role in Bloodshot, he worked with trainer, Eddie Baruta. Morris shared what Baruta made him cut out of his diet to Men’s Journal. “I knew that the hamburgers and the fried chicken were going to go. But I had no idea how much fat were in cashews! I had been eating like a bag a day thinking I was being healthy.”

8. Juno Temple

Juno Temple played Dot Lyon/Nadine Tillman in season five. In an interview with Gotham Magazine, she talked about what roles she wants to take on. “I just love playing different women—I love learning about as many aspects of us as possible,” she says. “It’s an honor, the different shoes I’ve already gotten to walk in, and it’s taught me a lot. My dream is to keep playing women that teach me things.”

9. Carrie Coon

Carrie Coon played Gloria Burgle in season three. She opened up about why she prefers theater to TV to Backstage.com. “In TV and film I’m just a woman who’s going to age out of my job. That’s a terribly toxic place to be psychologically, and I don’t want to spend my time constantly in that world. The theater is more forgiving of age. It’s a place where I will always be welcome even if I get old—which I will! And the theater community in the Midwest, in particular, doesn’t put that kind of emphasis on my looks.”

10. Ewan McGregor

Los,Angeles,,Usa.,October,30,,2019:,Ewan,Mcgregor,At,TheShutterstock

Ewan McGregor played Emmit and Ray Stussy in season three. He works with trainer, Tony Horton, to help him stay fit. Horton shared this photo of himself and McGregor on Instagram. He captioned it, “It seems that this Scottish fellow is starting to lean up and slim down. He hasn’t missed a day, and his diet has been spot on. This was day 16.”

11. Colin Hanks

Colin Hanks played Gus Grimly in season one. He also appeared in the Godfather inspired miniseries, The Offer. Hanks talked about making that show to Men’s Journal. “Making anything creative, especially films, requires a large number of miracles to happen. If you've got a good idea, it's a miracle. If you're able to write the script, it's a miracle. If anyone else wants to make it, if it doesn’t rain on Day 38 of shooting, and so on, it’s a miracle. This series really does highlight that and shows that even on a film we all now know as one of the greatest, there were numerous hurdles—and it almost didn't get made. Everybody looks at it now and just thinks: 'Oh, well, it's genius. So that was a given.' And the truth is it wasn't. Making The Godfather wasn't a given at all, and was significantly harder than any of us knew.”

I get asked a lot, ‘Who would you be or who would you play if you were a superhero?’ I don’t know how to answer those because I never saw myself playing anybody. Maybe I don’t know the universe too well, but I never saw myself in anybody, so once I learned about Hawkman’s soul and where he came from in Egypt and Prince Khufu, I felt for once, ‘There is a reason I’m here.’ Maybe he’s Carter Hall, but his soul is from the Middle East, and that’s what I can provide.”

But with palm oil, you have destruction of rainforest and great ape habitat, so we try to be careful of how we source, and we do it from coconuts. I use it in my coffee to keep my fats high. Sink your teeth into the fitness secrets and healthy habits of the supernatural stars of "True Blood." From Sookie Stackhouse's enchanting workouts to Jason Stackhouse's resilient spirit, this article reveals how the cast of this vampiric saga maintained their amazing bodies. Anna Paquin's on-the-road workouts, Anna Camp's snack-hoarding strategies, and Joe Manganiello's 80/20 diet plan will leave you thirsting for more. Rutina Wesley's agile dance-based regimen and Jurnee Smollett's jump rope prowess prove that vampires aren't the only ones with killer moves. Whether they're riding horses in the wild west like Luke Grimes or juggling auditions like Denis O'Hare, these actors have secrets to staying in shape.

1. Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin played lead character Sookie Stackhouse on the show. She shared some of her fitness secrets in a 2010 interview with SELF. "I had this really amazing trainer in New York, who I worked out with for years," she said. "He got me in amazing shape and taught me how to work out by myself and on the road. Half the time, I'd be in a hotel room somewhere and there would be a gym - if you could call it that - with not much more than a treadmill and some weights. He would write out workouts for me that I could do anywhere."

2. Anna Camp

Anna Camp played Sarah Newlin on seasons two, six, and seven. She tells People that she takes healthy snack options with her when she’s working. “I’m on the run a lot in L.A. Whether I’m hiking with my dog Rocky or driving from meetings to sets, having good snacks on hand is a top priority. I always carry almonds, fruit and water with me to fight the afternoon crash.”

3. Joe Manganiello

Joe Manganiello played Alcide Hervaux from season three on. His trainer, Ron Matthews, told Men’s Health that he has the actor on an 80/20 plan. “We never do less than 80 percent of full capacity with the diet and the workouts. But that means he can still have a cheat meal and enjoy life the other 20 percent.”

4. Rutina Wesley

Rutina Wesley played Tara Thornton on all seven seasons of the show. She shared some of her favorite workouts with Fitness Magazine. “I do a mix of cardio and strength — the elliptical machine and weight lifting — three times weekly. But a lot of my agility comes from being a dancer; I trained at Juilliard. I also do yoga. It helps me relax and let go of the crazy character I play.”

5. Ryan Kwanten

Ryan Kwanten played Jason Stackhouse on all seven seasons. He revealed in an interview with FOX News that he’s developed a lot of resilience, which has helped with his career. "I have that sporting background where I want to be the best, I want to be the champion. If I'm knocked down, you're damn sure I'm getting back up again. A lot of actors who may very well be more talented than me don't have that kind of tenacity in the face of rejection. That resilience gives me a distinct advantage."

6. Christopher Meloni

New,York,,Ny,-,December,12,,2021:,Christopher,Meloni,AttendsShutterstock

Christopher Meloni played Roman Zimojic in season five. He shared his approach to eating with Men’s Health. “I have to juggle the correct kinds of foods, but I have to ingest enough calories to push the weight that I need to push in order to kind of maintain…whatever this thing is. I really eat everything. My philosophy—well, my diet—is I’m basically horse-trading all day. I like to pick and choose where I’m going to ingest my cholesterol or my heavy fats or starches.”

7. Denis O’Hare

Denis O’Hare played Russell Edgington on seasons three and five. He shared how he approaches an audition with Backstage.com. “I try, when I go in, to not let the director talk to me. I don’t want them putting any ideas in my head before I’ve done what I’m doing. Afterward, it’s fine. And I don’t tend to banter—I don’t tend to chat. I don’t try to make friends. I just come in, do my job, and leave. And I also don’t hang around. Once I’m done, I get out of there so fast. I don’t want anybody to see me. I don’t want to have another conversation. I don’t want to have a second audition. I just leave.”

8. Jurnee Smollett

Jurnee Smollett played Nicole Wright on the final two seasons. She shared some of her favorite exercises with SELF. Smollett says that she makes sure to workout when traveling. “If I have a jump rope and a resistance band, I can work out anywhere. Even without a jump rope. If you do 200 jumping jacks, then drop and do some crunches, and then do some squats, you’re good.”

9. Luke Grimes

Luke Grimes played James Kent in season six. He also appears on the hit series, Yellowstone, and revealed to Monsters & Critics that he did a lot of riding to prepare for the role. “When we got to Utah, where we filmed the first season, a lot of us went on a cowboy camp where we went on a pack trip that went out for three nights. Taking these horses up mountains, jumping creeks, and doing a lot of stuff that a lot of us had never done before just to try to get us into the feel of the place and of the world.”

10. Lizzy Caplan

West,Hollywood,,Ca,Usa,-,April,24,,2023:,Lizzy,CaplanShutterstock

Lizzy Caplan played Amy Burley on season one of the series. She opened up about finding fulfillment in her career to Variety. “It seems rare to know, for me, what a whole year is going to look like,” she says. “I keep it moving, jumping from lily pad to lily pad. As fans of Harlan Coben know, Fool Me Once was a British thriller miniseries that aired on Netflix earlier this month. The hit show, often in the nation's top 10 most watched, is about Maya Stern, a recent widow, who gets a nanny cam to watch over her daughter. However, she ends up seeing her late husband on the camera. Meanwhile, Maya’s niece and nephew investigate their mother’s death. How do the stars of this nail-biting thriller stay so fit? Read on to hear from Natalie Anderson, Michelle Keegan and more.

1. Natalie Anderson

Natalie Anderson played Claire Walker on the show. She opened up about her diet secrets to Express. Anderson says that she loves making juices, and that her husband, James Shepherd, makes a lot of their meals. “I’ve made juices now and then, but never had them without eating. James does all the cooking, from scratch. Other than pizza on Saturdays, we don’t eat processed food.”

2. Michelle Keegan

Michelle Keegan played Maya Stern on the show. She opened up about her approach to exercise with MailOnline. “I think it's important to do everything in moderation," she explained. If I really, really don't want to go to the gym, I don't go. I just don't punish myself; it's not my life to go the gym. If I can go to the gym I will, if I can't, I can't. If I can go four or five times a week, great. If I can only go twice, or once, at least I've been."

3. Jade Anouka

Jade Anouka played Nicole Butler on the series. She revealed in an interview with The Financial Times that she finds happiness when she goes on walks. “There are woods that I love walking in — there’s a calmness.” Better Health states that walking has a lot of health benefits. “Walking for 30 minutes a day or more on most days of the week is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. If you can’t manage 30 minutes a day, remember even short walks more frequently can be beneficial.”

So I would hope to try and influence people to relook at the figures.”

Bianca Bustamante is revving up her engine in 2025 – in her workout gear. In a new social media post, the racecar driver reveals she is taking “the next major step” in her physical journey as a race driver “and I’ve set the target high!” she says in a new Instagram post, filled with video clips of herself lifting heavy weights at the gym. “Never been more motivated in my life, it’s not physically easy for a girl in this sport, but I’m super excited to take on this new challenge and the next big step on my racing journey,” she added. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Lifting Weights

Bianca spends hours at the gym where she focuses on strength training along with endurance, cardio, reaction time, and reflexes. “You know, to be a driver, it’s a complete package. It takes strength. It takes mental fortitude. It takes reflexes, smart thinking, and survival skills,” she told MEGA Active. “Sometimes it's for the body, sometimes it's for the mind. Nothing more peaceful than early sessions,” she captioned an Instagram post of one of her sessions.

Double Down On Training

In her recent post, Bianca reveals that she working extra hard at the gym. “I’ve been working hard over the years to build a solid foundation, but in 2025, I’ll be working with @j_w_90 and I’m doubling down on my training. Increasing to two workouts a day not just on lifts but aerobic endurance, as well as a better focus on nutrition and rest, in order to raise the bar to compete in the higher formulas,” she said.

Fueling Your Body With Protein

Bianca makes sure to eat enough protein in order to build more muscle and stay as lean as possible to meet the weight requirement. “It’s been a really cool journey seeing my body develop and transform into this whole different person I never knew I could become,” she said. In her new post she added that she is meal prepping. “I’m soooo all in that im even learning how to cook & meal prep better than ever before,” she writes.

Taking Cold Plunges

As for recovery, cold plunging is part of Bianca’s training regime. Limited research supports the benefits of cold plunges, which may include easing sore muscles, bringing body temperature down, increasing focus, improving sleep, and decreasing inflammation, per the Cleveland Clinic. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes post-sport recovery.

Working On Self-Esteem

Positive self-talk is also important. “Of course, I put a lot of pressure on myself, but in the end, I always tell myself that as long as I give my best and I learn from it, any mistake I make is valid,” Bianca explained. “I always try to repeat that to myself that I am valid. I’m here for a reason and there’s nothing I would rather do than be here.”

Brenda enjoys jogging. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.

Walking Her Dog

She also takes her dog on long walks. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Dancing

You can also find Brenda dancing to burn calories. Dancing is an excellent workout for many reasons. It builds strength and promotes flexibility, helps you lose weight, and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop or die from heart disease than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues

Swimming

Brenda spends a lot of time in her swimsuit so it isn’t surprising she loves to swim. According to the CDC, swimming is a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity. Just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses. In addition to the many physical benefits, multiple studies support the mental health benefits of swimming.

Hydration

Finally, Brenda hydrates, especially after a long workout or sun exposure. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Supports Animals

Romani has her own charity, Help Miami Cats. She talked about how she started this in the caption of this Instagram post. “❤️ Guys!!!! I have always loved cats and had many growing up. When I moved to Miami Beach I met a great calico named Chacha and learnt that cats were brought to the city by Mayor Lummus … against rodents. Cats rely on volunteers for their food and water and there’s a huge amount of them. There’s a city program to Spay and neuter with the wonderful @sobecats ladies and the feeding is made official by a City Sanctioned badge, yet new cats keep getting dumped daily sadly and there’s a never ending amount of work, emergencies and so on. I was on a feeding rotation but during the pandemic I was left alone caring for so many as people left town or couldn’t afford feeding anymore …I decided to start my own non profit @helpmiamicats . We feed close to 200 and when Batman got paralyzed took him and other special needs cats under my care … @stevensachs69 with the cat room and the amazing people involved devote their lives to these special souls … My life has changed a lot too … way less spare time, way more sweat and tears and lost the person I had by my side who had sadly other priorities … yet gained so much love from these lovely creatures !!! If you can please get involved in any way … follow @helpmiamicats , share, volunteer, adopt … donate … Only together we can make their world a better place !!! And yes … just me feeding the kitties and talking to them … 🤷🏻♀️👀😆❤️🙌”
