Emma Stone played Gwen Stacy in the Amazing Spider-Man films. She talked about her struggles with mental health to The Talks. “I’m not so hard on myself — a lot of it was the pressure that I would put on myself. I’ve learned that anxiety in its essence is fear. And what is the major fear? Fear of death. There is nothing else to be afraid of. So utilizing the positive side of that, there is this excitement for life, you know, they say anxiety is excitement without breath. So if you breathe through it, it becomes excitement.”

2. Andrew Garfield

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,15:,Andrew,Garfield,At,The,28thShutterstock

Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man films. He talked about losing weight for the film Silence to People. “It was really great to know that experience of fasting, starvation, it was really an amazing opportunity to know that,” he shares. “What it revealed to me, because not only were we in this losing weight and trying to – just because the reality of the characters is such, there’s no food on the island and the villagers are rationed anyway and eat even less than we do. Even on the journey over to Macau it would have been rife with dysentery and all kinds of sickness and hardly any food, so that hunger was really important.”

3. Denis Leary

Denis Leary 2022 A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson'sBryan Bedder/Getty Images

Denis Leary played George Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man. He talked about playing dramatic roles to Variety. “There’s no other way to deal with the emotional side of drama — for me anyways, as an actor — than to carry some of that emotion around. It was tough. I loved the show, but once I came out, I was like [long, shaky sigh]. You know what I mean? To go back to TV — not that I wouldn’t go back to do a drama at some point. But I certainly didn’t want to go back and do a drama right away.”

4. Paul Giamatti

Paul Giamatti SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations Presents Career Retrospective With Paul GiamattiAraya Doheny/Getty Images

Paul Giamatti played Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He spoke out against billionaires in an interview with GQ. “I don't have much fondness for either side of the thing. I probably have less fondness for the billionaires. I think I'm more forgiving of the politicians, in some ways I probably shouldn’t be. The federal attorneys … a lot of those guys really work hard, and they don't make any money, and they're trying to do the right thing, a lot of those guys. The money guys, I don't know. I just don't have a whole lot of fondness for those guys.”

5. Topher Grace

Hollywood-,Nov,04:,Topher,Grace,Arrives,For,The,Eighth,AnnualShutterstock

Topher Grace, who played Venom in Spider-Man 3, talked about the impact fatherhood has had on him to GQ. “Before I had kids, I hated listening to actors talk about how their kids changed everything for them. And I didn’t do it for my kids. I don’t like when actors say they did a movie, like an animated movie or something, because they wanted something for their kids to like. Why don’t you just do it for you? But I did this one for me. I actually feel like the character is going through something very similar to what I'm going through. I don't have twins. But I understood that underwater feeling you have when the kids are really young, and you're trying to live out creative passions. My character happens to be a novelist, but he wants to make time for that but even when the series starts, the first thing you see, I'm just at a desk and writing. And then you see like there's one crib next to the desk and you see there's another crib and the other kid comes at you and yeah, that's how it feels if you're really trying to balance those two things.”

What I eat and how I connect with my body feed my external. Right before the press tour, I went to Greece for a few weeks because I was at a stressful point in my personal life. I got really relaxed, which really helped [me]! In terms of brass tacks, I try to eat seasonal, local, and organic foods as much as possible, almost all the time. Moving meditation, like dance meditation, makes me feel at home in my skin; it helps me on a spiritual, mental, and, ultimately, physical level. It’s just about slowly finding what feels good and what feels rewarding.”

5. Tessa Thompson

2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - ArrivalsJemal Countess/Getty Images

Tessa Thomspon talked about getting in shape to play Valkyrie to Comic Book Resources. “I gained about 15 pounds of muscle mass, which yeah, it was a lot for me,” she said. Thompson also said that she wanted to do this to change how people perceive women in movies. “I like sort of bucking this conventional idea of a woman is beautiful or sexy if she’s sort of thin. She’s felt, but you can’t really see her strength. I like the idea that she can just be ripped, like Valkyrie is in the comics. Yeah, I found that sort of essential, that not really caring about how I looked, but caring more about how I felt. I felt so strong, and in my skin."

I’ve also cut out gluten, dairy and fish for the most part, and I’ve felt so much healthier and better since. Jessica Jones was an eight-month shoot so I needed the energy and my health to be on point. Also, with this. I increased my clean proteins with the working out.”

Our showrunner is an Asian-American woman, and our two lead females are Asian-American women. 90% of stunts and the ass-kicking and the saving on the show are from the women. I don’t think it’s talked about enough! We’ve quietly been breaking new ground.”

10. Jessica Henwick

EE BAFTA Film Awards 2023 – Red Carpet ArrivalsJoe Maher/Getty Images

Jessica Henwick opened up about her acting career and her wishes for the industry in an interview with Glamour. “It's not important to me that I become anything,” she admits. “But it's important to me that we keep pushing forward and it's shocking to me that I was the first, considering it was 2009 and how long British television has existed. When I was growing up, I would've loved to have seen someone who looked like me on screen. All I got was stunning English roses. So I absorbed that and thought that was the ideal way to look. When I was a kid, I totally wanted to look like that. I was like, why can't I be blonde and have really pink cheeks and have curly hair? It would've been healthy for my self-image if I had been able to look at someone else and think, I could also look like me. So it’s definitely important. But it’s also just more interesting. I'm bored of seeing the same story told over and over again. I want to hear from new creators, something that I've never seen before. There are woman rejuvenating the industry by sharing their own stories: Michaela Coel, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Brit Marling. These are the women who inspire me and, uh, who I would love to be like one day when I grow up.”

13. Natalia Cordova-Buckley

Premiere Of Disney And Marvel's "Black Panther" - ArrivalsJon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

14. Carrie-Anne Moss

"The Matrix Resurrections" Red Carpet U.S. Premiere Screening - Red CarpetSteve Jennings/Facebook

Carrie-Anne Moss talked to The New York Times about reprising her role in The Matrix. “It was important to me that I let go of any construct in my mind that I needed to look like I did when I was 30,” she said. “I find that thinking makes desperation as a woman, and I didn’t want any desperation. I knew I wanted to look good, but I didn’t want to do a juice cleanse, I didn’t want to do all these extreme things. I laugh because at times I would just feel so cool, I got this.”

She shared some of her skincare tips with Glamour. “The products that I use have evolved over the years as new technologies have been made available. But there is one product that has been a part of my skin care regime for as long as I can remember, and that is a serum with vitamin C. It brightens our skin, it keeps us from getting splotches. If you get a pimple, they go away a lot faster without leaving any marks. So a serum with vitamin C is key.”

2. Rosamund Pike

To prepare for her role in Gone Girl, Pike worked with MMA fighter Holly Lawson. “What I did was employ a lot of the stuff I learned from fighting into the training with Rosamund,” Lawson said to Healthista. “I know how far you can push the body and I knew how to bulk her up with water weight and later strip it out.”

4. Minnie Driver

Beverly,Hills,,Ca.,March,12,,2023:,Minnie,Driver,At,TheShutterstock

Minnie Driver played Irina in GoldenEye. She revealed in an interview with The Telegraph that she has moved to a beach home. “I’m happier by the sea,” Driver explained. “We all are. Every day I swim. I surf. I decided we should just live there. I can rent out my place in the Hills and just be more in nature.”

Obviously it costs $75,000 and I made it last for years."

6. Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig is the current James Bond. His trainer, Simon Waterson, broke down his workout to Men’s Health. 7. Eva Green

8. Mads Mikkelsen

London,,United,Kingdom,-,June,26,,2023:,Mads,Mikkelsen,AttendsShutterstock

Mads Mikkelsen played Le Chiffre in 2006’s Casino Royale. He shared how he approaches his career in an interview with Vulture. “My approach to what I do in my job — and it might even be the approach to my life — is that everything I do is the most important thing I do. Whether it’s a play or the next film. It is the most important thing. I know it’s not going to be the most important thing, and it might not be close to being the best, but I have to make it the most important thing. That means I will be ambitious with my job and not with my career. That’s a very big difference, because if I’m ambitious with my career, everything I do now is just stepping-stones leading to something — a goal I might never reach, and so everything will be disappointing. But if I make everything important, then eventually it will become a career. Big or small, we don’t know. But at least everything was important.”

9. Naomie Harris

Los,Angeles,-,Apr,4:,Naomie,Harris,At,The,"rampage"Shutterstock

Naomie Harris played Eve Moneypenny in Skyfall. She opened up about her diet in an interview with Shape Magazine. "I'm a really healthy eater. I believe that only through trial and error do you find what works for you, and my diet is based on what I've discovered from years of experimenting and listening to my body. For one thing, I incorporate Ayurvedic principles. That means plenty of warm, nourishing foods like stews and soups, even for breakfast. I have a really fast metabolism, so if I don't eat something filling in the morning, I'll be hungry again in five minutes.”

10. Javier Bardem

London,,United,Kingdom,-,May,15,,2023:,Javier,Bardem,AttendsShutterstock

Javier Bardem played Raoul Silva in Skyfall. He talked about his career to GQ, and says that he takes jobs that he feels passionate about. “The way I see this is, I take jobs because I believe in them,” he says. “Yes, I can do something for money, because we all have to pay our rent, but my objective is to try to do something that is worth it to watch. And for that, I need good material and belief in what I'm doing. When here it was like, ‘It's your moment. You're hot. You're hot. Do it.’”

11. Dave Bautista

Los,Angeles,-,Apr,23:,Dave,Bautista,Arrives,To,TheShutterstock

Dave Bautista played Mr. Hinx in Spectre. He shared some of his favorite workouts and his diet with Men’s Health. “I eat as clean as possible. I was eating mostly vegan, except for eggs because I couldn’t give them up for breakfast. I play with my diet a lot. During the day, I am all protein and fats. And then at night, I’ll usually have one very low-carb meal.”

12. Stephanie Sigman

Los,Angeles,-,Dec,12:,Stephanie,Sigman,Arrives,To,'aquaman'Shutterstock

Stephanie Sigman played Estrella in Spectre. She talked about being a Bond Girl to News.au. “To be honest, there’s a lot of expectation and sometimes that’s stressing,” Sigman admits. “But I try not to think about the expectations of other people because there’s always going to be expectations. Some people are going to like what you’re going to do some aren’t going to like it. That’s the way art is. Films are a very personal experience — just like a martini — so I try to think about what I like, what projects I like to be in, and make sure I feel proud about it because at the end, I’m the only one that’s going to look back, and feel proud or not about what I was doing.”

13. Famke Janssen

Shutterstock

1. Amandla Stenberg

Los,Angeles-,Oct,21:,Amandla,Stenberg,Arrives,For,5th,AnnualShutterstock

Amandla Stenberg talked about playing a queer character in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies to them. “It’s such a relief to be able to express that part of my identity authentically through a character and not have to conform to a different expression that is not authentic to me. What was so fun as an actor, and also as a producer, was being able to explore all the nuances of queer relationships through these characters — and being able to use my own experience and my understanding. The minutiae that I feel like we have experienced as queer people could be hilarious or meaningful. It was such a joy.”

2. Maika Monroe

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,21:,Maika,Monroe,At,The,24thShutterstock

Maika Monroe has starred in several horror movies, notably, It Follows and The Guest. She talked about how she handles those roles in an interview with IndieWire. “I’ve learned that for me, for my mental health, I have to be able to let go of it at the end of the day. A lot of the movies that I do are very dark and very intense, and it doesn’t do me any good to live in that space for longer than I needed to. For these movies, I want the characters to be grounded as possible, so to do that, [I have] to pull from my own traumas and my own experiences and that obviously is very overwhelming. But, for me, it is very important to be able to let go.”

3. Elizabeth Lail

Los,Angeles,-,Sep,10:,Elizabeth,Lail,At,The,2018Shutterstock

Elizabeth Lail has starred in Countdown and You. She shared some of her skincare secrets with Byrdie. “I’m trying to introduce more clean beauty into my routine. But more than anything I want something that works. So I also really love Murad. Their eye cream is amazing. As far as makeup, I feel like a clown when I have too much on so I like to keep it simple. I just spot correct with Clé de Peau concealer. And then I use a lot of Beautycounter because it’s a clean beauty brand. I have their mascara, brow gel, and sunscreen stick, which is great on the go. I’m just constantly on Instagram buying the next thing I see… for better or for worse.”

4. Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh is known for roles in horror films like Midsommar and Don’t Worry Darling. She tells ELLE that she doesn’t believe in losing weight for roles. 5. Jessica Rothe

Jessica,Roth,Attends,The,World,Premiere,Of,"poms",At,RegalShutterstock

Jessica Rothe is known for her role in the Happy Death Day series. She tells The Hollywood Reporter that she loves to cook. “One of my favorite recipes that I made a million times during quarantine is Instant Pot zucchini bolognese. It’s a spin on the one that Meghan Markle made famous, but it has Italian sausage in it. I think it’s Italian sausage, zucchini, onion and garlic. It’s so easy and it’s so delicious. But I get it. It’s a weird, very moist, squishy vegetable. I think you just have to make sure you prepare it right.”

7. Bailee Madison

New,York,,Ny,-,February,5,,2020:,Bailee,Madison,WearingShutterstock

Don’t Be Afraid of The Dark star Bailee Madison opened up about her skincare to Byrdie. “I am a big believer in no makeup as much as I can. Set makeup is the worst because you're caked in as much powder as possible. My hair is the longest it's ever been because it's usually so damaged, but it hasn't had that much heat on it these days, and I do hair masks. And for my skin, I try to give it skin breathers. I'm old school like that from my mom. It's not that fancy, y'all! But I do love a good jade roller, though."

8. Emma Roberts

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,12:,Emma,Roberts,Arrives,For,Baby2babyShutterstock

She talked about her workout routine to InStyle. “I started working out regularly when I was living in New Orleans shooting American Horror Story: Coven several years ago,” she said. “I really fell in love with the food there. Los,Angeles,-,Feb,06:,Jane,Levy,Jane,Levy,ArrivesShutterstock

There is an oil I use as face wash from Living Libations, the frankincense smell. And then after, I use the Weleda cleansing milk, which you can get at a natural food store. If I’m not wearing makeup, I usually only wash it with one or the other, but if I’m wearing makeup, I use the oil first to break down the makeup, and then the Weleda.”

10. Samara Weaving

Shutterstock

Samara Weaving is best known for her roles in Ready or Not and The Babysitter. She shared her diet secrets with Marie Claire. “As cliché as it sounds, you’ve got to listen to your body. If I go for three days of just having fruit and vegetables, I’ll make a salad and a rice bowl for dinner and have lighter meals. The next three days I’ll have pasta and more carbs and eggs benedict for breakfast. I listen to my body and what am I really craving? As soon as you go, ‘I’m going to diet for two weeks,’ what you’re craving is what you set out not to have.”

11. Olivia Cooke

London,,United,Kingdom,-,March,19,,2018:,Olivia,Cooke,AttendsShutterstock

Ouija and The Quiet Ones star Olivia Cooke talked about her fitness routine to Byrdie. “I wish it wasn’t the case, but exercise feels like I’m shoveling serotonin and dopamine directly into my brain. It’s just a pain in the arse to force myself to do it. I can be slobbish and put it off for a few days or a week if I’m working, but then I really start to feel the effects of that mentally. Sometimes I'll do a half-hour to 45-minute blast, either following a video from Madfit on YouTube or a guided yoga class on Glo. Or, if I’m not in the mood to be told what to do, I’ll make it up as I go along listening to the radio.”

Then I take a shower, shove myself in an ice bath, and then I am miserable while I'm doing that. But then I get out and sleep like a goddamn baby."

13. Haley Lu Richardson

Los,Angeles,-,Mar,4:,Haley,Lu,Richardson,At,TheShutterstock

I love Eminence Organics and use a face wash and exfoliator from the brand. I also use Derma-E's hyaluronic acid serum ($30). I love Starface pimple patches ($15), and then there's this brand called Squish that makes these gorgeous little floral patches with rhinestones at the center ($14). Fun pimple stickers are the best invention since sliced bread. I wish they existed when I was a teen because they make having acne fun.”

14. Sofia Boutella

Los,Angeles,-,Oct,20:,Sofia,Boutella,At,The,GoShutterstock

One of Sofia Boutella’s best known roles is for the horror film Climax. She shared her leg exercises in an interview with Coach Web. “The leg work I do is about performing one movement over and over again for long enough until the muscle goes numb – that’s when I know it’s working. It takes me around half an hour so I put on some music and repeat the exercise until I can’t feel myself doing it any more. It’s hardcore, but it’s worth it. The feeling of being able to kick with greater strength each day is empowering.”

She Does Squats

Stankovic does squats to keep herself in shape, as you can see in her Instagram video. Piedmont says that this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Whether you’re hoping to tone your muscles, strengthen your core or just improve overall health, squats are one of the best exercises you can do. Although the movements appear relatively simple, squats can take time to master. Joel Hardwick, ACSM EP-C, EIM2, an exercise physiologist at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center, says practice will pay off…Hardwick explains that squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back.”

She Does Lunges

Stankovic is also seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic reports that lunges are very beneficial to do. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Cardio

Stankovic likes to do cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself doing fast box jumps in different directions on Instagram. Stankovic captioned it, “Morning cardio challenge.” Cardio exercises have a lot of benefits. The Cleveland Clinic says, “When you work your heart and other muscles of your body during cardio exercise, this increases oxygen supply to your whole body, allowing all muscles to work harder and more efficiently. Over time, regular cardio exercise allows your muscles to adapt to an increased workload, making regular activities seem easier.”

She Does Pilates

Stankovic shares a lot of her favorite workouts in an Instagram story highlight. In some of the stories, she is seen doing Pilates exercises on a reformer. Pilates is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “One of the reasons Pilates is such a good workout is that it specifically focuses on building core strength.”

She Strength Trains

Stankovic likes to strength train to keep herself in shape. She shared this Instagram story of herself using dumbbells. ACE Fitness says that strength training and using weights has a lot of health benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

Kim French in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Real Results" Workout

Learn how she sculpts her powerhouse physique with deadlifts, lunges, squats, and more.

Kim French is more than just a personal trainer—she’s a fitness coach who empowers thousands through her Believe App and Instagram workouts. Known for her structured, effective home training plans, she proves that you don’t need a gym full of heavy weights to build serious strength.

In a recent Instagram post, French shared a glimpse of her at-home training, reminding followers that smart training delivers "REAL results." Rocking a sleek two-piece workout set, she showcased some of her go-to exercises, emphasizing that with the right strategy, anyone can see progress.

So what’s in her routine? From deadlifts to hip thrusts, here’s how French sculpts her powerhouse physique.

She Does Deadlifts

French is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram post. This exercise has a lot of benefits. NASM says, “A Romanian deadlift is a hip-hinge pattern that works the hamstrings and glutes. It is a form of deadlift with noticeably less bend in the knee, leading to greater hamstring engagement than traditional deadlifts. The move was introduced to the masses in the 90s by Romanian weightlifter Nicu Vlad (an Olympic and World Weightlifting champion) and his coach Dragomir Cioroslan. The two invented the move to help Nicu strengthen his back for the clean and jerk. Today, RDLs are commonly used to strengthen the posterior chain, using the core muscles to stabilize and the hamstrings and glutes to drive the movement.”

She Does Lunges

Another exercise that French is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. NASM says that they are very beneficial. “The lunge is a versatile, simple and effective movement for lower body training. Various positions, planes of motion and speeds can all yield different training adaptations for the exerciser. Lunges are the gift that keeps on giving!”

She Does Squats

French is seen doing squats in her Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, squats are very beneficial. “Here’s a quick look at the many benefits of squats, also known as bodyweight squats or air squats: Works major muscle groups. Burns calories. Strengthens your core. Improves lower body strength. Enhances stability and balance. Betters your posture.”

She Does Hamstring Curls

French is seen doing hamstring curls in her Instagram post. According to The Mayo Clinic, hamstring curls are very beneficial. “The seated hamstring curl is an exercise you can do with a weight machine to work the muscles in the back of the thigh. As the name implies, the seated hamstring curl targets the hamstring muscles here in the back of the thigh. Strong hamstring muscles help to protect your ligaments in the knee.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

French shared this video on Instagram of herself doing hip thrusts. She captioned it, “Hip Thrusts are no doubt one of the best exercises for building your Glutes but of course with any exercise, the form has to be correct for you to see the maximum benefits…✖️ Feet too far forwards will engage your hamstrings more ✖️ Feet too close to you will engage your quads more ✔️ Feet placed so your calves are vertical will engage your glutes more.”
