"Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is the most fleet-footed Star Trek spin-off in forever, thanks to its sparkling cast. Anson Mount, inspired by his father's journey from hardship to success, values clear purpose and hard work. Ethan Peck, portraying Spock, learns confidence and efficient thinking. Jess Bush transitions from modeling to acting, overcoming fear. Christina Chong focuses on healthy living. Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Adrian Holmes, and Dan Jeannotte share insights from their roles and personal philosophies. Paul Wesley advocates for animal empathy, while Gia Sandhu, Melanie Scrofano, and Lindy Booth discuss their unique experiences and wellness approaches. Read on.

1. Rebecca Romijn

Santa,Monica,,Ca,Usa,-,Jan,19,2020:,Rebecca,RomijnShutterstock

Rebecca Romijn plays Number One on the show. She tells People that she is embracing whatever life throws at her. “I think life is a whole game of acceptance,” she says. “I think when you, especially as you get older, you just have to accept certain things and accepting your looks to a certain extent is part of that, just growing up, maturity.”

2. Anson Mount

London,,England,,Uk,-,June,22,,2023:,Anson,Mount,AttendsShutterstock

Anson Mount plays Chris Pike on the show. He talked about the important lessons he’s learned to the Huffington Post. “My father taught me by example. He grew up a poor child in rural Tennessee during the Depression and became an executive for one of the biggest magazines in the country and a very respected journalist -- doing exactly what he wanted to do. He taught me ‘know exactly what it is you want to do. Figure out what the bullseye is, and the bullseye should be whatever it is you were willing to do for free. Work your ass off at it and someone will eventually be paying you.’”

3. Ethan Peck

Beverly,Hils,,Ca,Usa,-,March,9,,2023:,Ethan,PeckShutterstock

Ethan Peck plays Spock on the show. He talked about what its like to play the iconic character to Esquire. “He challenges me to be more confident. To have more useful thoughts. I found that I spent a lot of time thinking about ways in which I wasn't worthy or good enough, and that wasn’t useful. Spock would never have these thoughts—he would never think about something that doesn't have great utility. That rubbed off on me in the best way, though I’m still on that journey of weeding out toxic and circuitous thinking. I see Spock as a monument in motion, because he’s so pure and pristine in his decision-making, his actions, and his philosophy. As an artist and a person, that feels like a very worthy pursuit, to be in search of Spock.”

4. Jess Bush

Jess Bush Outright International Hosts 27th Annual Courage Awards And GalaSantiago Felipe/Getty Images

Before playing Christine Chapel, Jess Bush was a model. She talked about her journey to start acting to Coveteur. “I always wanted to try acting, but there was something holding me back from it. I think partly there was a fear of exposure. I also told myself that I should focus on my art, but there was always an inkling that [acting] was something that would be for me. I think I was 21 [years old] or so, and dating an actor and there were other actors around me, so I listened to that and tried it out when I was 21, and of course loved it. I haven't looked back since then.”

5. Christina Chong

Christina Chong Del Core Opens London Flagship Store On New Bond StreetDave Benett/Getty Images

Christina Chong plays La’an Noonien-Singh on the show. She talked about her diet in an interview with The Standard. Chong likes to eat healthy and try new diets. “I am experimenting with vegan raw stuff and eating healthily,” she revealed. “Not a lot of cooking, lots of chopping.”

6. Celia Rose Gooding

Celia Rose Gooding Outright International Hosts 27th Annual Courage Awards And GalaSantiago Felipe/Getty Images

Celia Rose Gooding plays Nyota Uhura. She talked about working on the show to BlackGirlNerds.com. “It’s never lost on me the opportunity that I have. To play that in a room of people who are also at the top of their game and to also feel incredibly supported by a group of people who may not share her same lived experience is incredibly refreshing and so pleasurable. It’s great to do, and it’s exciting, really exciting, to be a part of the kind of representation I’m craving to see in the world.”

7. Melissa Navia

Melissa Navia Outright International Hosts 27th Annual Courage Awards And GalaSantiago Felipe/Getty Images

Melissa Navia plays Erica Ortegas on the show. She talked about the impact the show has had to HollywoodLife. “There’s just a lot of dark things happening in our world every single day that, especially those of us with platforms we really need to be aware of and we need to speak on, but there’s just so much happening that is just so dark and so real and so part of our everyday lives. It’s wonderful to be able to be a part of this thing that people can be like, ‘I had a bad week and can’t wait to watch a new episode of Strange New Worlds.’ People are watching episodes multiple times, which is the best compliment you can get. It means you’ve done something right. It’s why we tell stories so that people can keep enjoying them over and over in new ways.”

8. Adrian Holmes

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,09:,Adrian,Holmes,Arrives,For,PeacockísShutterstock

Adrian Holmes plays Robert April on the show. Prior to acting, Holmes studied nursing, and talked about this to BlackGirlNerds.com. “Nursing humbles you and puts things into perspective. I don’t complain about anything. I realize every day how blessed and how fortunate I am to be able to take care of myself. To wake up in the morning and brush my own teeth, put my clothes on, make food, have dexterity in my hands — I am grateful for all those little things. I cared for regular people who had car accidents or recreational injuries. It could be any one of us anytime. So that puts things in perspective for me to just be present, to be in the moment and enjoy life and enjoy everything that we have in the here and now — to be more grounded, present, and grateful for my life. I put that energy into my work as an actor for sure.”

9. Dan Jeannotte

Dan Jeannotte Celebrities Visit Hallmark's "Home & Family"Paul Archuleta/Getty Images

Dan Jeannotte plays Sam Kirk on the show. He also starred in the Hallmark film, Sweeter Than Chocolate, which is about a lot of different couples. Jeannotte tells Digital Journal that he loves the diverse stories in the film, and hopes Hallmark keeps going forward. “There gets to be a great diversity of love stories, we have older people falling in love and same-sex couples. There is a nice diversity and that means a lot to me.”

10. Paul Wesley

Paul,Wesley,Attends,Comic-con,International,San,Diego,2018,Cbs,All Paul Wesley attends Comic-Con International San Diego 2018 CBS All Access "Tell me a story" Press Room, San Diego, California on July 19, 2018Shutterstock

Paul Wesley plays James T. Kirk on the show. Wesley is a vegan, and explained why to InStyle. “There's a purity to animals. They don't lie, there's nothing manipulative [about them]. They have no agenda, specifically dogs, they just love you. They're so selfless. Frankly, animals don't have a voice, they can't communicate how they feel, so it's our responsibility to put ourselves in their position. I just have a tremendous amount of empathy for animals.”

11. Gia Sandhu

Toronto,,Canada,-,September,15,,2015:,Actress,Gia,Sandhu,FromShutterstock

Gia Sandhu plays T’Pring on the show. She talked about what it’s like to be on set to The Hollywood Reporter. “Everyone is really easy to get along with, really kind, and all very welcoming. When I first got cast, Anson had everyone get together at a skating rink for his birthday, and he invited me. That was the first time I got to meet everybody, when we went for a skate in Toronto.”

12. Melanie Scrofano

Los,Angeles,,Ca.,November,11,,2018:,Melanie,Scrofano,At,TheShutterstock

Melanie Scrofano not only plays Marie Batel, she also played the title character on Wynonna Earp. Scrofano was pregnant when working on the show at a time, and refused to let it get in the way of her work. “I would be sitting down and people wanted to help me stand up,” Scrofano says to The Calgary Herald. “I got a bit irritated with that. The whole point is I’m trying to show people what we can do. People’s hearts were in the right place and they wanted to look out for me. But it got a bit frustrating. I was like, if you think I can’t even stand up on my own, you aren’t going to let me do anything.”

13. Lindy Booth

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,09:,Lindy,Booth,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Lindy Booth plays Alora on the show. She shared her wellness secrets in an interview with SELF. “My diet was super healthy when I was filming -- lots of salads, nuts and roasted soybeans. I'd treat myself with dark chocolate or cherry-flavored licorice. I'm obsessed with cardio barre classes, so I brought a ballet barre and hand weights with me on location. I can practically do a class from memory now!”

Who's ready for a game of Parrises Squares? Trim, athletic, and quick on their feet, the stars of Star Trek: The Next Generation look young and spry on reruns of the show, available on Paramount+. And the cast remains in shape even today, 30 years since the show went off the air. LeVar Burton keeps his skin hydrated. Patrick Stewart stays strong doing pushups. And Gates McFadden stays gluten-free. What other foods would they order in the replicator, and which actor orders tea—ginger, not Earl Grey—to satisfy her cravings? Read on.

1. LeVar Burton

LeVar Burton played Lieutenant Geordi La Forge in the series. He makes sure to take care of his skin. Burton told NYMag that keeping his skin hydrated is important, and uses body oil. “Southern California, where I live, is a desert. The environment wreaks havoc on my skin as a person of color. From the crib, Black people learn how important moisturizing and hydrating and things like lotion and emollients are.”

2. Patrick Stewart

Los,Angeles,,Ca.,February,09,,2023:,Patrick,Stewart,At,TheShutterstock

Stewart makes sure to stay in shape, and shared his secrets in an Entertainment Tonight interview. “Pushups,” he said. “It’s that simple. Until I had my shoulder surgery two months ago, so I’m not doing pushups at the moment. An old war wound from location work.”

3. Gates McFadden

Los,Angeles,,Ca.,February,09,,2023:,Gates,Mcfadden,At,TheShutterstock

Gates McFadden played the role of Doctor Beverly Crusher. McFadden makes sure to eat healthy, and shared her diet secrets on Twitter. “My diet does not include dairy or gluten. I can’t diet, because it sets the madness off again. As soon as I start counting calories, I start becoming obsessive about it. So I don’t count calories, nor do I weigh myself. I haven’t weighed in years.”

5. Wil Wheaton

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,9:,Wil,Wheaton,At,The,PremiereShutterstock

Wil Wheaton played Wesley Crusher on the first four seasons. In a post on his blog, Wheaton revealed he is working on his health. One thing he is doing is limiting and cutting out alcohol. “The very best part of drinking less and then not drinking at all is how I have had more productivity in my life in all areas. I’ve lost all the weight I wanted to lose, and my overall quality of life is vastly improved. There is also this profound clarity in my life that I never would have found if I hadn’t made a decision to quit drinking entirely, and face things that made me feel unhappy, or overwhelmed, or just some version of not good. I’ve talked with professionals and concluded that I never had a drinking problem like people who go to meetings to get sober, and I may decide that I can have a beer or a cocktail every now and then at some point in my future. But right now, I honestly don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.”

6. Michelle Forbes

Michelle Forbes played the recurring role of Ro Laren. She revealed some of her favorite foods in an interview with SELF. "I've been a vegetarian for 31 years now and have crossed over into being a full and happy vegan this past year," says Forbes. "I'm still scratching my head about what took me so long! A plant-based diet has actually simplified my life in so many ways. For breakfast, I try to get my first serving of fruits and nuts for fuel. I'm completely addicted to coconut water for the electrolytes and hydration. I like to juice whatever feels right on the day, in this case, beet/apple/kale/ginger/carrot/lemon. And, of course, a warm cup of ginger tea that gets the senses right and alert. Can't get enough ginger!”

7. Ashley Judd

Ashley Judd had a recurring role of Robin Lefler. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Judd revealed that she does Zumba to stay in shape. "Zumba is a gas. It's really fun. It's shaking your butt and pretending you're good at it. It's dancing! It's embarrassing old school aerobics. I actually started because I wanted the cross-brain experience. I wanted to use my non-dominant side, and then I just realized I liked to wiggle."

8. Rosalind Chao

Rosalind Chao played Keiko O’Brien on the show. She shared her advice for aspiring actors with Backstage.com. “I really do believe every time you’re on a set, you have to be easy to work with. It’s like the restaurant business: If you get a delicious meal, you will go back to that restaurant. Some of my work has come about that way. Other than that, it’s been the normal channels of auditioning and throwing that spaghetti against the wall until it sticks.”

9. Whoopi Goldberg

Star Trek stars have captivated audiences with their compelling performances and memorable characters (and pointy ears). Beyond the starships and interstellar adventures, these actors also share their personal journeys toward physical and emotional well-being. From Chris Pine's insights on healthy prepping for roles to Zachary Quinto's reflections on the evolving landscape for LGBTQ+ individuals, this article delves into the multifaceted lives of these talented individuals. Join us as we explore how actors like Karl Urban, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Michelle Yeoh strike a balance between maintaining incredible bodies, supporting charitable causes, and embracing their authentic selves in the ever-evolving realm of showbiz.

1. Chris Pine

Ralph Lauren SS23 Runway ShowAmy Sussman/Getty Images

Chris Pine opened up about his career in an interview with Men’s Journal. In it, he says that he avoids those calorie rich diets when prepping for roles. “You’ve got Thor, you’ve got Captain America. These guys are eating 5,000, 7,000 calories, waking up just to eat food, eating 15 meals a day. For your liver, I don’t think that’s healthy.”

2. Karl Urban

Variety Studio at SXSW 2022 - Day 2Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images

Karl Urban opened up about how he got in shape for his role in The Boys to Men’s Journal. “I made sure I was consistently putting work in the gym. I wanted to make sure I was meeting the requirements of what people had in their heads when they thought of him. There's also an importance on staying healthy when you're coming up on a big shoot like The Boys, because it can take a lot out of you. I put a program together based on a few other regimes I had built for other film projects and it worked. The goal was to add mass to all of the muscle groups, and hit them all. I wanted something that was just as much about fitness as it was about aesthetic.”

3. Zachary Quinto

2019 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - ArrivalsJon Kopaloff/WireImage

In an interview with Time, Zachary Quinto opened up about growing up as a gay man. “I feel grateful to have grown up at a time when all my experiences as a kid in learning to perform and growing up was based on the people that came before me. I spent a lot of time charting the journeys of the people who weren't allowed to be openly gay and had to live their lives in terrible self-oppression and torture and lies just to succeed. Kids today don't have to think about that, because so many of those people died. Now you can do what you want to do. That came at a cost. Honoring that cost is the only thing we owe each other.”

4. Chris Hemsworth

Men in Black: International London PhotocallJeff Spicer/Getty Images

Chris Hemsworth’s stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton, opened up about the way he and the actor get in shape for roles to Page Six. “Chris says to me, ‘We want to be the strongest, healthiest versions of ourselves for this next “Thor.” We want to take it to the next level.’ As you know, every single ‘Thor’ and ‘Avengers,’ he’s always in incredible shape. For him to want to take it to that next level, it was another huge challenge.”

5. Jason Isaacs

2022 White House Correspondents' Association DinnerPaul Morigi/Getty Images

Jason Isaacs shares his fitness secrets with GQ. "I have one of the many seven-minute workout apps. It’s star jumps; wall-sits; squats; crunches; push-ups with rotation; step-ups; planks; side planks as well. All the other actors and various crew members were initially interested, and one by all they’ve all dropped off. There’s a couple of die-hards that still do it with me but I am so much better at exercising when I’ve got a workout partner.”

6. Sonequa Martin-Green

27th Annual Critics Choice Awards - Red CarpetKevin Mazur/Getty Images

Sonequa Martin Green is open about supporting cancer charities. “What appealed to me about Stand Up To Cancer was the unity,” she told WebMD. “There is something so powerful about community, to know there are so many people from so many different disciplines in science coming together, shedding their egos, and combining their research. They’re world-changers and they’re doing it all as one, and I’m so honored to support this work.”

7. Michelle Yeoh

80th Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsKevin Mazur/Getty Images

Michelle Yeoh’s trainer, Andy Le, talked about working with her in an interview with GQ. “Her extensive background in martial arts films definitely had a great impact on how we worked together. Michelle brings a presence when the cameras are on her. You can take anyone else and teach them the same choreography and they would never be able to do it like her, she brings an X factor to her performance.”

8. Terry Farrell

Paramount+'s "Star Trek Day" CelebrationDavid Livingston/Getty Images

Terry Farrell opened up about working on Star Trek and what she’s learned in a 2015 interview with Woman At Warp. “I think that living in the moment is important – for myself, I strive to live in the moment, challenge myself to be a better person, and challenge myself to be my authentic self. And hopefully, whenever I get the feeling that I’m a little scared to deal with something, that instead I think ‘that’s how being brave feels’ and that motivates me to deal with it and confront it. I’ve had a lot of practice this year.”

9. Gates McFadden

Gates McFadden opened up about her diet in this Tweet. “My diet does not include dairy or gluten. There are terrific crackers that are gf, most bread sucks so I bake biscuits that taste great. tofu salads, I occasionally eat fish, and am currently craving and scarfing down mochi that are made with coconut milk and are dairy & gf!”

10. Zoe Saldana

Paramount+ "Special Ops: Lioness" - European Launch ScreeningMike Marsland/WireImage

In 2016, Zoe Saldana talked to Coveteur about getting in shape for Star Trek: Beyond. “The physical side of [filming] wasn’t demanding at all for me—I asked if it was okay for me to not try to be a hero in this installment of the films. I have my sons who are six months old. But with that being said I still have a fighting scene, and I’m so happy about it. I was already in my process of slowly getting back to my normal routine with my body, so I just started doing some power yoga and a lot of floor work—breathing has been helping me a great deal. I just love it, so that’s what I was doing in my spare time.”

11. Alison Pill

US-ENTERTAINMENT-WOMEN IN HOLLYWOODLisa O'Connor/Getty Images

Alison Pill opened up about the impact of Star Trek: Picard to Inverse.com. “I think we definitely all understand that humans are social animals and many animals are social,” Pill says. “So how do we organize ourselves by these principles that don't put us in these individual black and white boxes and get stuck in the binary way of thinking? Of good vs. bad? Or with us or against us? How, how could we operate in society if those weren't the only options? That’s what our show is about.”

12. Rebecca Romijn

Rebecca Romijn is all about self-acceptance. She talked about this in an interview with People. “I think life is a whole game of acceptance. I think when you, especially as you get older, you just have to accept certain things and accepting your looks to a certain extent is part of that, just growing up, maturity.”

13. Anson Mount

"Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" Episode 2 UK Launch ScreeningJohn Phillips/Getty Images

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Anson Mount opened up about the impact of the Star Trek franchise, and honoring it in Strange New Worlds. “To me, it’s super important because I grew up watching the original series when it was in syndication. That is how I discovered Star Trek. And that was the only Star Trek I had until The Next Generation. So, for me, that’s everything. And that is what we really wanted to do, something that was a throwback and homage to the original series. And almost everything we do, that consideration goes into it.”

14. Jack Quaid

Premiere Of 20th Century Studios' "Prey" - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Jack Quaid opened up about his life and career to GQ. He says that he wants to respect the people he works with. “I very much have a sorry to bother you attitude in my life. I don’t want to involve anyone else. But whatever people's processes are, as long as you're not actively hurting anyone, I think it's okay.”

15. Ella Purnell

33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards - ArrivalsJC Olivera/Getty Images

Ella Purnell talked about how she plays characters in an interview with TheFace.com. “It doesn’t matter to me if the character is likeable or not likeable. What matters to me is compelling storytelling. And if you lose the audience at episode three or four because your character is annoying, they’re not going to give a shit if you [PLOT DETAIL REDACTED] in episode 10.”

16. Wil Wheaton

Los Angeles Premiere Of The Third And Final Season Of Paramount+'s Original Series "Star Trek: Picard"David Livingston/Getty Images

Wil Wheaton talked about the changes he was making to his diet in this 2016 post on his website. In it, he talked about how he was eating healthy and approaching food. “My only vice left is ice cream, and I have ice cream almost every night. I’m not going to feel bad or apologize for it, or make any excuses. All my other meals are really good, and we are cooking our own food at least three nights a week. I track my calories in and out, and I’m staying right around 1300 calories every day, which I guess is good for a guy my age and activity level and all that stuff.”

17. Christina Chong

Christina Chong revealed in this interview that she likes to meditate. According to the Mayo Clinic, meditation has a lot of benefits. “During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress. This process may result in enhanced physical and emotional well-being.”

Faith Hill

Faith Hill played Margaret Dutton on 1883. She talked about her wellness secrets in an interview with SELF. "Some days it's harder to get myself moving than others, but it has such a positive impact on my day. I have more energy throughout the day and feel better overall. I also try to drink 70 to 90 ounces of water a day. It is so good for you, inside and out."

Kylie Rogers

Kylie Rogers plays young Beth Dutton on Yellowstone. She talked about her love of acting in an interview with Schon Magazine. “I’m still so passionate about acting and my passion is still just the same as when I was a kid, when I was just like, ‘Let’s make movies!’ [Laughter] I’m genuinely so excited about everything every day. But, in terms of my process, I am now, obviously, more capable of understanding the characters, what they’re going through, and the emotions they’re feeling. I can understand more in-depth what’s going on there and why they’re like that. Whereas, when I was a kid, I would just try to and I’d be like, ‘Oh, she’s sad in this scene,’ you know what I mean? But, I wouldn’t fully understand why she was sad. I’ve definitely been able to grasp a good understanding of characters.

Hassie Harrison

Hassie Harrison plays Laramie on Yellowstone. She shared her wellness routine in an interview with Modeliste Magazine. “I take a lot of walks to exercise my body, spend time with friends and family to fill my heart, read and listen to audiobooks and podcasts to stay informed and make sure to get a lot of vitamin D! As an extra bonus, I also love a good facemask.”

Piper Parebo

Piper Perabo arrives to the premier of Season 5 of "Yellowstone."

Noam Galai/Getty Images

Piper Perabo plays Summer Higgins on Yellowstone. She talked about the importance of having confidence in an interview with Into The Gloss. “I think for myself, what shines through the best is when you feel good about yourself, you know what I mean? Confidence. It comes from a psychological place: how you feel about yourself and what you want to put out there initially, and then after that, I think it comes from a nutritional place—what you eat really affects how you look, and the better you are to your body, the better you feel, and the better you look, and the better you feel about how you look.”

Jennifer Landon

Jennifer Landon plays Teeter on Yellowstone. In an interview with Naluda Magazine, she says that learning to fail was the best advice she’s received. “I was someone who didn’t try very much because I had a high batting average and was very afraid of failure. This didn’t allow me to work and grow. Learning to fail is still very hard for me, and it’s been at times the most freeing thing on earth. If I were to give advice, I would say, fuck talent – just do what you want and then do it again, and again, and again. The people I know who tried and failed the most are the most successful. And successful in every way in my book.”

Lainey Wilson

Singer Lainey Wilson plays Abby on Yellowstone. In an interview with Delish, she talked about how meal prepping helps her eat better. “I will say I feel like I’m becoming a little bit more prepared than I used to be,” she said. “I really do enjoy meal prepping and having things handy, because I feel like when you don’t have those things handy, that’s when you mess up and that’s when you eat something that makes you feel bad.”

Luke Grimes

Luke Grimes plays Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone. In an interview with Men’s Health, he talked about the importance of working out. “Gyms, for me, are more about the mental aspect of it than making sure I look good with my shirt off or whatever,” Grimes explained. “I mean, of course, I’d like to look good with my shirt off, but we all would. If I go a couple weeks without working out, I start to get real dark. So I have to — I just have to. I’m 40 years old now, so I know I have to get it done.”

Cole Hauser

Cole Hauser plays Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone. On the show, he does a lot of horseback riding, and it’s helped keep him in shape. Hauser talked about riding in an interview with GQ. “I grew up in Oregon riding, so from four to seven years old, I was on a horse. Now, doing Yellowstone for six months at a time, you get in horse-shape.”

Wes Bentley

Wes Bentley stars as Jamie Dutton on Yellowstone. He is open about being sober and his past struggles with addiction. Bentley talked about how he got clean and his desire to help others who are struggling in an interview with Men’s Health. “The way I attacked it was by being positive—I’m just gonna go talk about it to everybody and try to help others and heal that shame by doing something.”

Tim McGraw

Tim McGraw played James Dillard Dutton in 1883. In an interview with Men’s Journal, McGraw talked about the impotence of fitness in his life. "In my early 40s, when I really started taking it seriously, I started running a lot. That’s the first thing I started doing, and I found that made a big difference for me. It just started my day out better. I just realized how much it raised the bar on everything that I did. It raised the bar on my career. It raised the bar on my relationships with my friends. It just made me feel better, gave me a better mental outlook on everything that I was doing."

Ryan Bingham

Ryan Bingham plays Walker on Yellowstone. He talked about the importance of following your dreams in an interview with Arizona Foothills Magazine. “I just know that for me it was about trusting my gut. When you’re young and you’re out on your own, you have no home, no family; there’s nothing left to lose. I was forced to do what I had to out of survival. Sometimes it wasn’t the safest bet. Many times it didn’t work out and I learned the hard way. But I figured out where to go and not go, do and not do.”

In the galaxy of the Clone Wars, the voices behind the beloved characters hold remarkable stories of their own. From advocating for mental health to embracing self-care, these actors and actresses bring depth to both their on-screen roles and personal lives. Join us on a journey through the lives of the Clone Wars stars, where they share their passions, experiences, and insights that extend far beyond the Star Wars universe. From Ashley Eckstein's mental health advocacy to James Arnold Taylor's lifelong dream of voice acting, each slide unveils a unique facet of these talented individuals who have left an indelible mark on the Star Wars saga.

1. Ashley Eckstein

Hollywood,,California,/,Usa,-,December,16,,2019:,Actress,Ashley EcksteinShutterstock

Ashley Eckstein plays Ahsoka Tano. She is also an advocate for mental health. “I think the biggest misconception is that only certain people have mental health challenges or issues or effects that some people think, ‘Oh, that doesn’t affect me,’” she says to Better.net. “I realized that I wanted to be a voice and an advocate for mental health, because I was one of those people that said, ‘Oh, I’m good. I don’t have any mental health challenges.’”

2. Catherine Taber

Premiere Of Disney's "Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker" - ArrivalsRodin Eckenroth/WireImage

Catherine Taber played Padme Amidala in the series. She talked about her approach to the role with Comicbookmovie.com. “Sometimes a role matches up with you, and that's Padme for me. I love the character so much. It's been such an honor to play her and to get to do EK Johnston's books and all this stuff since then, where I get to continue her. But the best part about playing Padme is meeting all of these people throughout the world. Not only who cosplay as her, but there are also whole clubs and leagues of people who love her as much as I do. And that's the coolest thing cause she's such a great character to admire and idolize. We need some more Padme Amidala in the world, except, I always say, for her taste in men."

3. Anna Graves

gravypic_1511195424_1652349443573490633_54882302Anna Graves/Instagram

Anna Graves plays Duchess Satine Kryze on the show. She loves spending time outside with her family. Graves shared this set of photos of herself and her family hiking and playing with animals on Instagram. She captioned the post, “THANKFUL for finding @ranchogrande_ojai 🐪 🐐 🐶 🐖 🦆 This was a Thanksgiving our family and friends will always remember!”

4. Olivia d’Abo

Olivia,D'abo,At,The,Bafta,Los,Angeles,2013,Awards,SeasonShutterstock

Olivia d’Abo plays Luminara Unduli on the show. She tells the White Feather Foundation that she is an advocate for societal change. “I think societally in 2020 there’s been so much discomfort to contend with, you watch the news you get uncomfortable. It’s almost like psychologically we’re prone to accepting it because we have no choice. So, let’s get this in there while we’re all open to it! During the Me Too movement, my son was at college and told me that he didn’t look at girls the same way—he was shy and had a more cautious approach. But I think that’s good that there was discomfort because that’s how you affect change. If it doesn’t hurt enough, you don’t feel the deep-rooted feelings that need to be implemented. That’s how change happens in my opinion.”

5. Dawn-Lyen Gardner

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,23:,Dawn-lyen,Gardner,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

In addition to her role as Steela Gerrera, Dawn-Lyen Gardner also stars on Queen Sugar. She talked about working with Ava DuVernay and other female directors on that show on The Real. “Working with all women directors for five years of my life, it actually fully shifted just the definition of a director. Ava was the first woman director I ever worked with in television, and then it was sort of 34 women after that. It has really completely transformed what was possible even for myself, I think, on some level as an actor, just seeing who’s at the helm, seeing who’s in leadership — all of that informs, I guess, a permission that you give yourself to more fully embody yourself, to more fully embody the work, and your own dreams of perhaps one day doing that for yourself.”

6. Vanessa Marshall

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,18:,Vanessa,Marshall,At,The,GlobalShutterstock

Vanessa Marshall plays Hera Syndella, and she shared how she relates to the character with Star Wars News Net. “I’ve said before that I practice martial arts and I feel like I’ve had a physical transformation since learning how I’m not a violent person, but I will protect my friends and family. And I’m grateful that I have the capacity and the know-how, so when Hera is in those different situations, I feel that I have a physical awareness of exactly what that would necessitate, and so my own spiritual journey on the planet of self-empowerment has luckily complimented where Hera organically lives. I tend to be a little bit more silly. I’m good friends with Theresa, she can attest to the fact that I’m kind of goofy and Hera is not. So there are elements of my personality that do not exist. I’m sure Hera doesn’t eat as many brussels sprouts as I do. I really do have a thing for brussels sprouts but I don’t know, you never know what she has a thing for.”

7. Anthony Daniels

Hollywood,,California,/,Usa,-,December,16,,2019:,Actor,AnthonyShutterstock

Anthony Daniels has played C-3PO for decades. He talked about what it has been like with Everything Zoomer. “I think I learned that I have more tenacity than I realized, that I kind of had to stick with it because I agreed to do it and then I agreed to do it again out of choice, knowing what was involved. I guess I stuck through the difficult bits, like everybody does — I’m not the only person — in whatever role, whatever job. But what I did write about was my particular experience of something that millions of people have experienced from a different angle … I’m part of something that you’ve seen on screen for so many years that maybe it just fills in some of the cracks, some of the missing segments. So maybe you have a more rounded picture of what it’s like to be C-3PO from the inside.”

8. Jaime King

The Hollywood Reporter 2022 Power 100 Women in Entertainment presented by Lifetime - Red Carpet ArrivalsMichael Kovac/Getty Images

Jaime King voices Aurra Sing in the series. In an interview with The Zoe Report, she says that self-care is something she values. “One thing that's really changed is that I'm much more intentional about self-care. Every morning, I literally ask myself, ‘How am I going to take care of myself today?’ I am a better human being and a better mother when I'm taking time for myself and when I ask for help—which is hard for me. I try to take it all on on my own because I have no family here, except for my spouse and my best friends (thank God!). Asking for backup so I can take an hour every day to do yoga—that's my thing— is so important. Every day, no matter what, I'm practicing.”

9. Rena Owen

Rena,Owen,Attends,"siren",Press,Room,At,The,Anaheim,ConventionShutterstock

One of Rena Owen’s many roles is as Taun We. She shared how she got into acting in an interview with Pop Culturist. “It happened during my childhood. Being creative is something that you’re born with. Every single one of us is born to be good at something. During our youth is when we discover what we like, what we’re made for, and what we don’t like. For me, personally, I was born to be dramatic. [laughs] I was hyperemotional and hypersensitive. Sensitivity is a quality you’ll find amongst most creators. That’s a quality you need in order to be a creative or an artist. That heightened sensitivity gives you empathy and insight.”

10. Matt Lanter

Los,Angeles,-,Dec,16:,Matt,Lanter,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Matt Lanter plays Anakin Skywalker in the series. He shared some of his wellness secrets in an interview with Bowflex.com. “Firstly, I always try to make water a priority. Staying hydrated is key, especially here in dry Southern California. I've been using my BowFlex Max Trainer at least 4 times a week and have been really happy. I may try to go out and hike or do some other type of outdoor cardio once or twice a week as well. Also, I'm lifting weights around 4 times a week. I would like to do better about incorporating some more yoga type exercise so my muscles can stretch and not just build from weights.”

11. Corey Burton

Return To Never Land PremiereJean-Paul Aussenard/WireImage

In an interview with Collider, Corey Burton shares how he found the right voice to play Count Dooku. “I think of voices with all of these layers and components that go into it. Now, when I'm performing, that's a little different. But analytically, it's always broken down in my brain to various elements. And I'm often called to match voices. So I'm thinking, let's see, texture, light texture, but there's a little bit of a creak to it. There's a fog in it, whatever. And then, as I learned in workshop, vocal placement. Because now playing Count Dooku is a Shakespearean placement. Placement is where you actually, where the voice comes from physically in your body.”

12. James Arnold Taylor

Hollywood,,California,/,Usa,-,December,16,,2019:,Actor,JamesShutterstock

James Arnold Taylor voices Obi-Wan Kanobi. He shared how he got into voice acting in an interview with LaughingPlace.com. “I have always wanted to be a voice actor. I started at the age of four years old realizing that there were people in little padded rooms talking on microphones, and I thought ‘I want to do that someday.’ So I’ve always had a desire to do it, and I pursued it throughout my career [and] my life. As a young kid I was looking to do stand-up comedy and get into radio because I knew that would lead me to a life of voice acting, which I’ve been very blessed that it has.”

13. Lacey Chabert

Los,Angeles,-,Jul,26:,Lacey,Chabert,At,The,HallmarkShutterstock

Lacey Chabert plays Aayla Secura. She shared how she stays motivated to workout in an interview with Thrive Global. “I typically am not excited to go work out. I think I, like most people, don’t actually like working out… until the workout is over. When it’s over, you have all the endorphins in your brain, and physically you just feel stronger and better. I just feel more focused, I feel more clear-headed, my anxiety is less. So even though I really dread getting to the gym or to the workout class, I drag myself there, I push myself to go and I feel so much better after. And I think when I start my day by putting on workout clothes, it feels like I’ve taken one step to getting to the workout.”

Over the past few years, Sydney Sweeney has become one of America’s sweethearts with celebrated roles in everything from hit HBO shows Euphoria and White Lotus to big-screen movies Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Anyone But You. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."
