Los,Angeles,-,Apr,2:,Mandy,Moore,At,The,PaleyfestShutterstock

Mandy Moore played the lead role of Rebecca Pearson. She talked about some of her favorite foods in an interview with Bustle. “I’m always going to go with a scoop of almond butter in a smoothie. Everything’s better with it. I’m not super picky with salads, but I do love arugula. And maybe throwing in garbanzo beans — if it can be crunchy, all the better.”

2. Sterling K. Brown

Los,Angeles,-,Oct,15:,Sterling,K.,Brown,Arrives,ForShutterstock

Sterling K. Brown played Randall Pearson on the show. When it comes to fitness, he’s all about consistency. “It’s easier to maintain a level of fitness than it is to lose it and try to get it back,” Brown told Men’s Health. “You want to do enough that you feel like you’ve done something, but not so much that you don’t wanna do it again tomorrow. So it’s not about trying to kill yourself. It’s about trying to give yourself the inspiration to continue.”

3. Milo Ventimiglia

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,19:,Milo,Ventimiglia,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Milo Ventimiglia played the lead role of Jack Pearson on the show. He works with trainer, Jason Walsh, to help him stay in shape. “Milo has always been dedicated to his workouts,” Walsh told People. “Consistency is key. It’s the best method because as an actor, you don’t have to stress about taking your clothes off if that time comes. You just know you’re good to go.”

4. Chrissy Metz

Beverly,Hills,,Ca,Usa,-,Nov,17,2019:,Chrissy,MetzShutterstock

Chrissy Metz played Kate Pearson on the show. Like her character, Metz has struggled with her weight. She tells TVLine that she has found acceptance in herself. "Whether or not I lose weight or stay the same, it's purely a choice of mine for health. Not because I think that plus size, curvy, voluptuous, big bodies aren't attractive—because I think they're awesome and sexy."

5. Justin Hartley

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,12:,Justin,Hartley,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Justin Hartley plays Kevin Pearson on the show. He shared his diet secrets with People. “I’m not as strict and stringent as some people may think that I am, but I try to be reasonable. I try to avoid certain things or an abundance of certain things. And, if I’m aware of how bad certain things are, I won’t eat them as much. Basically I rely on guilt.”

6. Susan Kelechi Watson

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,27:,Susan,Kelechi,Watson,At,TheShutterstock

Susan Kelechi Watson played Beth Pearson on the show. She shared some of her skincare tips and products with Glamour. Watson makes sure to exfoliate her skin. “I'm not super picky about the exfoliant I use as long as it takes off that layer of dead skin. So I don't necessarily have anything fancy. My go-to has been Trader Joe's Nourish Microdermabrasion Scrub, and I use it about once a week, sometimes more if I need to.”

7. John Huertas

Jon HuertasMichael Tullberg/Getty Images

John Huertas played the role of Miguel Rivas. In addition to acting, Huertas is also a restaurateur and cook. “They weren’t big into cooking at my house,” he tells Variety. “I learned to cook for myself as a kid. My experience with having great food came when I moved to California.”

8. Alexandra Breckinridge

Los,Angeles,-,Jan,21:,Alexandra,Breckenridge,At,The,24thShutterstock

Alexandra Breckinridge played Sophie Inman on the show. In an interview with New Beauty, she talked about turning 40. “I am definitely doing a lot more now though to try to keep up with my skin, my fine lines and everything else—nothing crazy, but I want to keep my skin looking healthy and whatnot. I use the NuFace at home and I use it a lot while I’m working. I also have one of those LED lamps. I try to use that more frequently now. I’m basically just trying to take better care of my skin. I’m also very interested in lasers. I guess I’m looking forward to the point where I am not as concerned about aging, and I just kind of embrace it. I’m getting there; I don’t I have any other choice!”

9. Chris Geere

NBC's "This Is Us" Season 6 Red Carpet -Chris GeereJon Kopaloff/Getty Images

Chris Geere played Phillip on the show’s final two seasons. He talked about how he views his acting to Us Weekly. “There are things that I notice that I believe I could do better sometimes, but I think that’s what everyone does in any job anywhere. I’ve been very lucky enough to work with great writers and directors, so I learned quite a long time ago that I need to trust them implicitly. And by trusting them, you’re giving everything over to them. It’s out of my hands. So if what I do not see the day looks different after the edit in the screening, then I least I know I’ve done my best in that situation.”

10. Melanie Liburd

Los,Angeles,-,Oct,14:,Melanie,Liburd,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Melanie Liburd played Zoe Baker for three seasons of the show. She shared some of her favorite workouts with The Glass Magazine. “Moving to Los Angeles was great because it is quite outdoorsy and you find different things. I got a bike and I go on bike rides, which is so much fun and beautiful. And there are the hikes too. I need to get back to snowboarding because I haven’t been in couple of years now, and this is my favourite thing. There is just something about mountains that I love. There is a place outside of Los Angeles called Mammoth Mountain. You get in your car, it is literally five hours drive from the city and you get to a snow-covered mountain and it’s amazing.”

11. Janet Montgomery

New,York,,Ny,-,October,11,,2018:,Janet,Montgomery,WearingShutterstock

Janet Montgomery played Olivia Maine on the first season. She told The Bare Magazine that she has picked up boxing to stay in shape. “I started boxing a few months after I gave birth back in 2019. My husband and I started together and it was purely so I could get back in shape: after a few months my body was back to its usual size and I stopped. I started training again in April of this year but this time it had nothing to do with aesthetics and more to do with wanting to feel strong. I felt trampled on in certain areas of my life and weak. Honestly I was probably a little depressed and was struggling to see a way out of it. I hated that my daughter saw Daddy as the strong one so I started working with my trainer to build up my overall stamina and strength. Looking back now I think I was feeling powerless in so many areas of my life. I knew that if I started training again I could regain some of that power back.”

12. Chris Sullivan

Los,Angeles,-,Apr,2:,Chris,Sullivan,At,The,PaleyfestShutterstock

Chris Sullivan played Toby Damon on the show, which got him multiple Emmy nominations. He talked about the importance of addressing issues on the show to AwardsRadar.com. “When you have a 14-year-old African American girl struggling with her sexual identity, and you have a 40-year-old set of twins, and the other is adopted, and then to have one of them be African American and two are white, so you’re looking at what kind of conflict that creates. Those are such specific scenarios. For whatever reason, the more specific the show gets the more roads people have into connecting to it. It becomes broader the more specific it gets and that’s been really great to watch.”

13. Griffin Dunne

Los,Angeles,,Ca,-,October,24,,2019:,Griffin,Dunne,ArrivesShutterstock

Griffin Dunne played Nicky Pearson on the show. His character is a veteran struggling with PTSD, and talked about the impact he’s made with TODAY. “I’ve heard from Vietnam vets,” he said. “And I’ve heard from soldiers and their families who have fought in our more recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. And that they are, you know, thankful to see their trauma, post-war trauma portrayed, you know, is very meaningful to me. I feel very proud of that.”

14. Jennifer Morrison

Los,Angeles,_,Jun,4:,Jennifer,Morrison,At,The,LaShutterstock

Milana,Vayntrub,Attends,2019,Wondercon,-,Marvel,Animation’s,World,PremiereShutterstock

I place myself like that. And it’s because of the thousands of unwelcome comments I receive about my body. You’ve lost the privilege of looking at it until I feel safe again.”

It makes you think about who they are beneath the jobs. It connects you to them. I remember having to explain what my mum did when I was Tidiane’s age. When I told people she was a cleaner… Well, I went through different stages with that. For a long time I was ashamed. Then, growing up, explaining it over and over, something changed. In an interview with Red Online, Charlize Theron talked about how she was raised, and what she wants to instill in her children. “I was very lucky to be raised by a single parent who wanted that for me. I wouldn’t be where I am today without that kind of a backbone. I learnt that from a very young age…Look, nothing bad comes from telling your children to pick themselves up and use the things that happen to them as lessons, rather than things that will define then. I don’t want anything to ever define my children.”

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,19:,Kj,Apa,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

KJ Apa turned to trainer Alex Fine to get in shape for playing Archie Andrews Riverdale. Fine shared Apa’s workout routine to The New York Post, and he specifically did prison-style workouts with the actor. “With KJ, we did a lot of that, and weights with really high repetitions. We did a lot of chest and shoulders — with actors, you want to stick with chest and shoulders — since on-camera, it looks better.”

2. Lili Reinhart

Los,Angeles,,Ca.,January,06,,2019:,Lili,Reinhart,At,TheShutterstock

Lili Reinhart, who played Betty Cooper, talked about how she embraces acne in an interview with Byrdie. “It's just a matter of telling myself that the only person who's bothered by this is me. Once you can embrace that and accept that, it's easier to just let go of it. I also obsess and can't stop looking in the mirror at my breakout, so when I convince myself to put my phone away, stop looking at my reflection, stop looking at a mirror, you forget about it."

3. Camila Mendes

Los,Angeles,-,Mar,12:,Camila,Mendes,At,The,2023Shutterstock

Camila Mendes played Veronica Lodge on Riverdale. She shared some of her skincare tips in an interview with Glamour. Mendes says that she makes sure to remove all the makeup she wears on set. “I swear by Dr. Kay’s Wipe Away the Day Treatment Pads. They provide my skin with much needed exfoliation after a long day of wearing heavy makeup on set, and I’ll often follow that up with a soothing Loops mask like Night Shift. The Eminence Organics Stone Crop Hydrating Mist is also one of my recent favorites. I like to spray a few spritzes of that on a cotton pad and wipe my face with it after cleansing. Not only does it remove all the extra product residue on my skin, but it also smells incredible.”

4. Cole Sprouse

Los,Angeles,-,Mar,07:,Cole,Sprouse,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Cole Sprouse, who played Jughead Jones, took fitness advice from his co-star, KJ Apa. “It’s good being on a show with people like KJ who are monsters,” he said to People. “He’s ripped, he’s been ripped since he was like 10, so it’s nice going to the gym with dudes like that because I just mimic what they are doing and by proxy I get an exercise I never thought I would be able to get, which is one of the perks of being on a teen drama!”

5. Madelaine Petsch

Santa,Monica,,Ca,-,June,16,,2018:,Madelaine,Petsch,AtShutterstock

6. Ashleigh Murray

Los,Angeles,-,Aug,04:,Ashleigh,Murray,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie McCoy, shared her skincare routine with POPSugar. “I'm not married to any serum. Whatever works. For my moisturizer, I sometimes use a combination of essential oils, like jojoba and coconut and a little bit of juniper sometimes, a little bit of lavender; definitely tea tree for that acne. And if not that, than just any yummy thing from Lush. I love Lush. And sunscreen from Murad. This is good for all the brown girls that don't want to get that horrible ghost face or anyone that doesn't want ghost face — it's called Murad Invisablur Perfecting Shield. It's a clear chemical sunscreen and it has mattifying properties too. It doubles as a primer. It's bomb.”

7. Charles Melton

Los,Angeles,-,Dec,11:,Charles,Melton,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Charles Melton, who played Reggie Mantle, opened up about his wellness to GQ. “I’ve just finished three months of not eating any red meat, after I spoke to a nutritionist. The plan he put me on has been life-changing and improved my relationship with food. It sounds like it could be tedious but I take pictures of everything I eat, creating a food diary on my phone. I have yet to have any KBBQ, but when I do it has to be the best red meat.”

8. Vanessa Morgan

Santa,Monica,,Ca,-,June,16,,2018:,Vanessa,Morgan,AtShutterstock

Vanessa Morgan played Toni Topaz on Riverdale, and eventually became a larger character. She talked about her approach to skincare to WhoWhatWear. “It's key not to neglect your body. I always keep my face moist. The body moisturizer from Gold Bond is great for that because they have a lot of products that are good for dehydrated skin. So that's key when you're in the sun so even if I'm not the best with my sunscreen as long as my skin is moisturized, it doesn't flake or peel and I find I look young.”

9. Drew Ray Tanner

Los,Angeles,-,May,13:,Drew,Ray,Tanner,At,TheShutterstock

In addition to playing Fangs Fogarty on Riverdale, Drew Ray Tanner starred in the film Work It. He shared his training process in an interview with Men’s Health. "We called it a 21-Day No Days Off program," says Tanner. "Essentially it was cardio in the morning, then in the afternoon it would be strength and conditioning training. If there was a day off, it would be like a 15 mile run. Then I got to have a no run day the next day–but still did strength and conditioning."

10. Madchen Amick

Los,Angeles,-,Feb,24:,Madchen,Amick,At,The,EltonShutterstock

In addition to playing Alice Cooper, Madchen Amick also has her own website. She opened up about her diet in this post. “I spend so much time and energy on eating clean. Organic, pesticide-free, non-GMO, non-hormone, etc. We have medial grade air-filters in our house to keep the air we breath as clean as possible. We not only filter our drinking water but also our bathing water. Carefully choose non-toxic and environmentally friendly cleaning products. Use alternative building products for our home, like toxic-free milk paint, wood stains and insulation. And the list goes on.”

My daughter is wisely vegan, and I’m trying hard to join her… I love to cook. My favorite meal to cook is vegan lasagna with sweet potatoes and mushrooms.”

14. Molly Ringwald

New,York,,New,York,-,November,07:,Molly,Ringwald,AttendaShutterstock

Molly Ringwald, who played Mary Andrews, wrote an essay in Marie Claire about her beauty mark and what it taught her. “I like to imagine you were teaching me a lesson: Here is beauty, but don't get too attached. And that goes for all of it. One day, the same breasts whose arrival is first heralded with bewilderment, shyness, and excitement will grow and then shrink after babies. They'll become something else. Not bad, just different. Everything that's big will become smaller, and what we want to remain small will grow bigger. Even our ears will grow. Fingers will begin to become crooked from multiple injuries, and the arches in our feet will fall. Everything that we ever found beautiful about ourselves in the mirror, no matter how long we manage to delay it, will eventually go under the category of a ‘different kind of beauty.’ Every day I practice being OK with that.”

15. Robin Givens

Pasadena,-,May,5:,Robin,Givens,At,The,46th,DaytimeShutterstock

Robin Givens talked about playing Sierra McCoy in an interview with TooFab. "I think it is unbelievably important that people who look like me are represented on television," Givens said. "I used to be competitive in academics and there wasn't really division, but [racial division] is considered to be okay in this industry and I think it's important that everyone feels they are included and represented. I'm very proud to be a part of a show that represents diversity and America in every way."

If I don’t know what I’m talking about, the audience is going to have no idea what I’m talking about. So it’s just fleshing out that jargon and trying to find her joy in figuring these things out.”

At lunch, I might eat smoked salmon with a slice of Mozzarella di Bufala, made from the milk of domestic water buffalo, along with avocado.”

It was really interesting because Josephine was my first trainer, and she comes from a bit of a CrossFit background in power lifting. So she helped me shed a lot of body weight and to start to strengthen my skeletal muscles and build lean muscle. Then in Madrid, I had a trainer named Rafa and he was also a bit of a CrossFit guy, but as a male, he also was a bit of a heavier lifter, so he started to get my body lifting heavier weights. Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”
