Amy Schumer Opens Up About How She's Losing Weight—And What Didn't Work

Amy Schumer never fails to deliver instant comedic relief onstage or onscreen. She crushed it with her sketch show on Comedy Central, Inside Amy Schumer, which earned an Emmy Award. In 2015, the actress received praise for her film Trainwreck, alongside Bill Hader. She then went on to star in popular movies like I Feel Pretty and Kinda Pregnant, along with TV series Life & Beth. Amy has been incredibly open about her struggles with weight and recently revealed what has and hasn't helped her drop pounds.
Amy Schumer Takes Mounjaro
The Trainwreck star recently revealed in an Instagram video that she's been taking weight-loss drug, Mounjaro.
"Mounjaro's been great," she said. "I'm having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that."
The actress also pointed out that insurance doesn't cover the medication unless it's for a patient who has diabetes or is severely obese.

She Previously Took Wegovy
Mounjaro isn't the first weight-loss drug Amy's tried. In her Instagram video, she also revealed that, three years earlier, she took Wegovy. Unfortunately, the experience did not go well for the comedian, as it made her severely vomit.
"I was like puking, I couldn't handle it," Amy recalled. "I don't know if they've changed the formula."

She Tried Ozempic, Too
Amy also tried Ozempic, another popular weight-loss drug. At the time, she lost 30 pounds. The celeb revealed on Howard Stern's SiriusXM talk show, per Page Six, that Ozempic also didn't agree with her.
"I was like, vomiting—and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they're all good. God bless them," she said, dubbing it a "horrible experience."
She Got Liposuction
In January 2022, Amy revealed on Instagram that she got liposuction. She captioned her post, "I feel good. Finally. It's been a journey thanks for helping me get my strength back @seckinmd (endo) @jordanternermd (lipo) never thought I would do anything but talk to me after your uterus doesn't contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40. @paulvincent22 vickie Lee (acupuncture) my girl Nicole from the tox my friends and fam. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy weighed 170 pounds after the procedure. "It's not about needing to be slamming, because I've never been famous for being hot, but I'd reached a place where I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror," she told the outlet.
