Ashley Ortega is living her best life on a beach vacation. In a new social media post the actress shows off her fantastic figure in a bathing suit during a getaway with friends in Cebu, Philippines. “Viva Pit Senyor and cheers to my sinulog heroes!” she captioned the Instagram photos and videos. "Hello Gorgeous!" commented a fan on one of her latest swimsuit photos. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are 5 habits responsible for her beach body.


Jogging

Ashley runs daily. "Everyday, I wake up early, and jog in U.P. oval around 6 a.m. As long as before 8 a.m., the medo is hot, I'm done. I do four rounds. And my heart is not really complete without it,” she told Pep.PH. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is excellent for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.

Marital Arts

Ashley is also a fan of martial arts. "I do Muay Thai for one to two hours. I do Balintawak training, where we use a stick. And I also do aerial hoop and pole dancing for flexibility naman,” she told Pep. Studies confirm that the practice helps balance, cognitive function, psychological health, weight loss, and physical fitness.

Parkour

She also enjoys fighting her way to a hot body. "Sometimes when I can, parkour," she said. The practice is inspired by military obstacle course training and is a full-body workout.

Workout Buddies

Ashley enlists the help of workout buddies. "When I don't really workout, I feel like I'm not productive,” she says. “Actually, it's more about fun and activity. I do it with friends. But sometimes, I do it alone too." Why should you workout with friends? Having workout buddies is an easy way to keep yourself accountable, especially when you don’t feel like exercising.

Healthy Diet

Ashley maintains a balanced diet and understands the importance of portion control. “I am not exactly health-conscious, but I know my limitation. I eat whatever I want, but I know how far to stop,” she said. "If I feel like I gained weight, I will get serious, I will reduce rice and carbs."

Ashley is clearly devoted to fitness. She puts her focus on “lifting heavy,” training six days a week, including five days of strength,” she told Muscle & Fitness.

2. She Pushes Herself

Ashley exercises, even when she doesn’t want to. “There will always be times when you don’t feel like hitting the gym—but those are the days you make the most improvements!” she tells Muscle & Fitness. “Attitude is a powerful thing, and you have to learn to strengthen the mind as well as the body.”

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring, says Ashley. “I believe in eating tasty foods during prep,” she says. “If you don’t like a certain food in your diet, then just make a substitution.” When she is competing she will remove additives like almond milk, coffee creamer, and other condiments and cut down on any extra food nibbling. To battle cravings she will snack on cucumber with stevia or drink decaf iced coffee sweetened with almond-flavored liquid stevia drops or cinnamon-apple tea and stevia or chew on sugar-free gum.

4. She Hydrates

Ashley is always hydrating, but when training she amps up her water intake to a whopping 1 ½ gallons per day. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.

5. She Does Cardio

Ashley also does three days of cardio. “Cardio is 20 minutes of high-intensity interval training, usually on a Stepmill,” she told Muscle & Fitness. She might also use the elliptical machine or treadmill.

I started skating kasi at the age of 4, and then I stopped when I was 12, before I entered showbiz.” While Ortega no longer competes, she does still find time to put her skates on today. Ortega loves to go to the beach and pool, and you can tell with just one look at her Instagram. One of the things she loves to do is swim, specifically forms of diving. Lately I have been on a health journey from eating more protein, lifting heavier weights, self love, proper sleep, therapy and focus. But, my digestion issues were still prominent. With new proteins and more nutrition dense foods going into my body, I needed an assist! I started drinking @tonicakombucha (to be honest) because I saw it at my grocery store. 🤣 I had tried other brands that I just didn’t love the taste of. After I tried @tonicakombucha I became obsessed not only with the taste and multiple flavor options but with the noticeable difference (I swear to you) in my digestion and gut health overall.”

She Lifts Weights

In the previous Instagram video, Bowman is seen doing exercises with weights. ACE Fitness says that this has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Does Squats

She Does Hip Thrusts

Bowman is also seen doing hip thrusts in the previous Instagram video. Bowman likes to surf to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself riding the waves on Instagram.
