Jogging
Ashley runs daily. "Everyday, I wake up early, and jog in U.P. oval around 6 a.m. As long as before 8 a.m., the medo is hot, I'm done. I do four rounds. And my heart is not really complete without it,” she told Pep.PH. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is excellent for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.
Marital Arts
Ashley is also a fan of martial arts. "I do Muay Thai for one to two hours. I do Balintawak training, where we use a stick. And I also do aerial hoop and pole dancing for flexibility naman,” she told Pep. Studies confirm that the practice helps balance, cognitive function, psychological health, weight loss, and physical fitness.
Parkour
She also enjoys fighting her way to a hot body. "Sometimes when I can, parkour," she said. The practice is inspired by military obstacle course training and is a full-body workout.
Workout Buddies
Ashley enlists the help of workout buddies. "When I don't really workout, I feel like I'm not productive,” she says. “Actually, it's more about fun and activity. I do it with friends. But sometimes, I do it alone too." Why should you workout with friends? Having workout buddies is an easy way to keep yourself accountable, especially when you don’t feel like exercising.
Healthy Diet
Ashley maintains a balanced diet and understands the importance of portion control. “I am not exactly health-conscious, but I know my limitation. I eat whatever I want, but I know how far to stop,” she said. "If I feel like I gained weight, I will get serious, I will reduce rice and carbs."
