Austin Butler Shows Off Ripped Body For Men’s Health

Austin Butler has become one of the top movie stars and heartthrobs over the past couple years. After his breakout role as the King of Rock & Roll in Elvis, he starred in Dune: Part Two, Eddington, and Masters Of The Air. Austin’s next role is in the film Caught Stealing, and he’s been doing a lot of press for it. One interview he gave was to Men’s Health, and he made sure to bare his abs on the cover. How does Austin Butler keep his amazing body in shape? Here are 5 of his secrets.
He Changed His Diet
For his role in Caught Stealing, Austin had to put on some weight. One way he did so was by changing his diet with the help of his trainer, Duffy Gaver. Austin shared some of the food he ate in his Men’s Health interview. “He just ramps up the weight, so you’re just getting heavier and heavier. I remember him telling me, ‘Chicken, broccoli, brown rice, and lift, motherfuckers.’ ”
He Works With A Trainer
As mentioned in the previous blurb, Austin works with Duffy Gaver to help him train. Duffy talked about working with the actor to GQ. “I can’t remember the logistics of how we got together, but we started in May 2022 and trained around Austin’s schedule. It’s funny, the busier an actor gets, the more in demand they are, so they might have to fly out to New York to meet a director, or fly to Cannes. It takes a dedicated actor like Austin to stick to a fitness routine when they’re flying about all over the place.”
He Lifts Weights
Duffy has all his clients, including Austin, lift weights. “If you can bench 200lbs, your goal should be benching 205 or 210,” he says to GQ. “And if you can bench 210 for four reps, your goal should be to bench 210 for eight reps, or ten reps. If you just keep pushing the numbers forward, you will grow.”
He Does Hip Thrusts
Austin tells Men’s Health that he does “a ton of hip thrusters” to keep himself in shape. According to Gymless, this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Hip thrusts are a great compound movement that targets the gluteal muscles (‘glutes’), and it’s crucial for improving lower body strength, power, and lower-body aesthetics.”
He Works Hard
When it comes to fitness, Austin makes sure to work hard. Duffy talked about the actor’s work ethic with GQ. “I enjoy training with him. He’s a very private person, so I don’t really want to speak into it too much, other than to say he works very hard. But then, if he didn’t have that work ethic and wasn’t highly dedicated to his craft, he wouldn’t be where he is. It shocks me when actors don’t care about the physicality of their role, and I feel like Austin is very much of that same mindset.”
