Bella Thorne has never been afraid to switch things up, whether it’s her style, her career, or her fitness routine. The actress and singer recently took a trip down memory lane, sharing throwback photos from last year’s Comic-Con. Posing in a sleek black outfit, she asked her followers, “Last year at Comic Con.. should I bring this hair back?” While her looks may change, her dedication to health and fitness remains constant. From boxing to strength training, here’s how Thorne stays in top shape.
She Boxes
Thorne shared some of her favorite workouts in an interview with HollywoodLife. One thing she likes to do is box. The Cleveland Clinic says that boxing has a lot of health benefits. “Regular physical activity, including boxing, can lower your blood pressure, your cholesterol and your risk of heart disease…When you’re boxing, you’re likely to exert moderate- to vigorous-intensity effort.”
She Does Yoga
Thorne tells HollywoodLife that she loves practicing yoga to stay in shape. Harvard Health says that yoga is very beneficial. “People who practice yoga and are mindful eaters are more in tune with their bodies. They may be more sensitive to hunger cues and feelings of fullness. Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years gained less weight during middle adulthood. People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
She Strength Trains
Thorne tells HollywoodLife that strength training is one of the things she does to keep herself in shape. The Mayo Clinic says that strength training has a lot of health benefits. “By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.”
She Doesn’t Weigh Herself
Thorne revealed on Twitter that she doesn’t like to weigh herself, and encouraged others to do the same. “Almost every day I have been to the gym in the last 6 weeks. Turns out I only lost one pound of fat and gained one pound of muscle.. throw away your scales ladies because they don’t mean shit. As long as YOU feel better and u like the way u look that’s all that matters.”
She Doesn’t Wash Her Face Too Much
Thorne shared some of her skincare secrets with Vogue. She says that she learned to not wash her face too much. “I don’t even know how many years I’ve had cystic acne, but it started off as dermatitis, and then I tried everything you can think of. There’s something called overwashing your face, and when I had really bad acne, that was one of the things I stopped, and it actually helped my skin.”
