There were lots of young models prancing down the runway of Miami Swim Week 2025, showing off their incredible bodies in barely-there bikinis and swimwear. However, it was 54-year-old Bethenny Frankel who attracted the most attention. The former Real Housewives of New York star defied age, looking decades younger and radiating happiness and self-confidence that was borderline infectious. How did the reality star and entrepreneur prepare for her big runway moment? Here is everything you need to know about her age-defying secrets.

She Doesn’t Lift Weights and Her Body Is “Natural”

“My body is natural,” Frankel said in an Instagram video shared on Monday, June 2.  “I don’t do weights. And the reason my body is natural is because the exercise I do and have always done for my body is natural. I’ll go months without exercise and definitely days without doing anything but I always come back to it.”

She Walked 6,000 to 10,000 Steps Per Day

Walking also helped tone and tighten her body. “Everyone keeps asking what my secret was for Sports Illustrated Swim Week, and honestly — it’s walking 6,000 to 10,000 steps when I can. I go weeks and months without it but summertime is when I’m fairly consistent. I don’t believe in extreme exercise but everyone’s body is different,” she told WWD.

Sleep and Massage

Leading up to the show, she also “focused” on sleep and massage. “I’m not sure if I believe that lymphatic massage debloats as I tried a few sessions, but didn’t notice any difference,” Frankel admitted.

She Did Three Sessions of a Body Tightening Treatment

She also got some aesthetic treatment. “I also tried three sessions of a body tightening treatment as an introduction, but I’m not sure how much of a physical difference it made. My team and I believe it was nominal but it made me feel intentional and I think consistency would make those treatments work,” she told WWD.

She Went on a “Supermodel” Diet

She also shared with WWD that “clean eating” was key, but “not to lose weight, but to feel clear, energized, and balanced.  In fact, I gained weight as my body was likely confused,” she said. In terms of her diet, “I self-regulate,” she added The Daily Mail. “Sometimes I’m super active and eat clean, and sometimes I rest and indulge. I go through phases, like everyone, but I always come back to center. It’s about balance, not extremes.” For 10 days leading up to the show, she made an extra “effort to care for herself.” On her TikTok account, she shared a “supermodel snacks” series documenting her eating journey. She consumed items such as cottage cheese, sliced turkey breast, vegetables, boiled eggs, and pickled vegetables. In one video, she shared a second snack recipe: a cucumber salad with Skinnygirl Caesar Dressing and Tajin seasoning. She also revealed that chocolate-flavored yogurt and Fruit Riot sour tart cherries were also on her menu.
