Big Brother's Chanelle Hayes Shares Swimsuit Photo of Weight Loss

Here are her wellness tips.

Chanelle Hayes is one of the most well-known stars from Big Brother. Since then, she has become outspoken about her weight loss and struggles. Hayes shared a new video highlighting it on Instagram. In it, she posed in a pink swimsuit at two stages of her life. Hayes captioned the post, "(Re)touch my body." How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Chanelle Hayes stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1

She Raises Awareness

Hayes is all about raising awareness about eating disorders. In this Instagram post, she talked about the impact of binge eating disorder. "Binge eating disorder accounts for up-to 22% of eating disorders (Hay et al., 2017). I've never heard of a doctor diagnosing it so I would go out on a limb and suggest it's probable that many cases are unreported so this 22% could be much higher. Wanted to post this to raise awareness about this specific disordered way of eating and expressing that you don't always have to be super skinny to be struggling with eating issues."

2

She Avoids Stress

Hayes makes sure to take care of her mental health, which means avoiding stress. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. "I thought I would post this to try to remind you guys that SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT REAL and things are so easily edited so please try not to stress and compare yourself or your life. BE KIND TO YOUR MIND. It's something I have to remind myself daily because I subconsciously compare the chosen snapshot of life on people's social media to my whole life warts and all. It's unkind of me to do it to myself, but I do."

3

She's Consistent

Hayes is open about her decision to have bariatric surgery. She shared what she learned from this experience in this Instagram post. Hayes says that she has learned to be more consistent with wellness. "Bariatric surgery is only a tool, if I don't use it consistently and correctly it will fail. Addressing abnormal relationships with food is so important if I want to become healthier physically and mentally.

She Doesn't Compare Herself To Others

In the same post, Hayes writes that she has learned to not compare herself to others. Especially when it comes to weight. "Weight looks different on everybody. I am trying to stop focussing on other people's weights because my only competitor is myself. Ten people could weigh exactly the same but have completely different body compositions. Selfishly (but thankfully) I now only care about myself and mine."

5

She Spends Time Outside

Hayes has two sons, and she likes to do outdoor workouts with them. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. "One of the best things since my #gastricsleeve is being able to move more and spend more quality time with my boys. In the left pic, I sat sweating due to my excess body weight watching my son play football. In the right, I had just beaten him at a race of the Monsal trail, so I was sweating for the right reasons! Last weekend I took the kids trampolining, next week we are going swimming. None of these activities were something I could have done before. Partly, because I felt so much shame I didn't want to embarrass them but partly because I knew I would be in agony for days afterwards."
