Billie Eilish has become one of the world’s biggest stars at a young age. She has won the Oscar for Best Original Song twice. She’s won nine Grammy Awards. Her hits include, “bad guy”, “you should see me in a crown”, and “LUNCH” from her recent album. And yet? She knows how to have fun, too. Eilish shared some photos from a pool party on Instagram recently. She wore a pink swimsuit in one photo. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Billie Eilish stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Swims

As you can see in her Instagram post, Eilish likes to swim to stay in shape. According to Better Health, swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is a good all-round activity because it: keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body, builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness, helps you maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs, tones muscles and builds strength provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of your muscles are used during swimming.”

2. She’s Consistent With Skincare

Eilish makes sure to take care of her skin on a regular basis. She talked about this in an interview with Vogue. “I have to do a skin-care routine every single night. For me, I find a lot of peace in it and it brings me back down to myself; I feel like a person when I do it. Taking care of your skin is so, so important just as a person. There is no gender to it.”

3. She Works Out On A Consistent Basis

Eilish makes sure to work out regularly. She revealed to Apple Music that an injury made her take fitness seriously. “It started with 'I can't get injured anymore, can't do it, not going to let myself live like that,'” she said. “Because I lived like that for years. I know that's something a lot of people do, but that was not a thing I did. And it's become such an incredibly huge part of my life and it makes me feel so much better as a person and the way that I can move on stage now.”

4. She Makes Time For Herself

Happy,Pretty,Young,Woman,With,Closed,Eyes,In,Lingerie,WithShutterstock

Eilish makes time for herself by doing things she enjoys. She shared some of her favorites with Allure. “I watch things that bring me comfort, swim in my pool, but I feel best right out of the shower, with my lotions and my smells and I’m in a clean environment. When you’re in a shitty spot emotionally, when you change the things in front of you, it can help so much. I’m trying to prioritize. I wrote in a song years ago ‘to keep myself together and prioritize my pleasure,’ I said that three years ago, and then I didn’t do it! “So I’m doing it now. And I’ve made enough people feel good that I deserve to feel good too.”

5. She Lets Go Of The Hurt

Let,It,Go,,Affirmation.,View,Of,Empty,Asphalt,Highway,OutdoorsShutterstock

Eilish talked about letting go of her pain to Allure. “That’s the thing about diving into the hurt — I don’t need to do that. I’m starting to do better, but I’ve not been doing so great, to be honest. For a while. I have impending-doom feelings most of the day. When I think too much about it, how I can never have privacy again, it’s enough to make you want to do all sorts of crazy things. But you have to let it go.”

1. She Struggled with Body Image Issues

Screen Shot 2021-12-20 at 10.28.18 AMBillie Eilish/Instagram

Eilish recently confessed to Vogue UK that her body “was the initial reason for my depression when I was younger” – and the situation worsened when she quit dancing at 13 due to injury. She also started cutting. “I think that the people around me were more worried about it than I was, because the reason I used to cut myself was because of my body,” she told Vanity Fair. “To be quite honest with you, I only started wearing baggy clothes because of my body.”

2. She Lives in the Moment

10th Annual LACMA ART+FILM GALA Presented By GucciAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Billie believes people should do whatever makes them feel good about themselves. “It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing," OK "if you feel like you look good, you look good,” she told Vogue. “People always say, ‘How would your younger self feel about you now?’ And that’s a good thing to think about in some cases, but I also think you shouldn’t try to be a person that your old self would like, and you shouldn’t try to be a person that your future self is going to be. You should be exactly who you feel like you are and want to be in that moment, otherwise you’re going to go insane.”

3. She Wakes Up Early

Eilish used to sleep late, but now wakes up early. “It makes the day so much longer,” she told Vogue. If she can’t sleep, she uses a meditation app.

4. She Keeps Her Private Life Private

When it comes to her private life, she sets boundaries. When asked if she has a horse by Vogue, she wouldn’t respond. “Maybe, maybe not, who knows?” she said. “That’s a whole part of my life that I’m not interested in anybody having any info on.” The reason why she keeps her life on the DL is for her mental health. “It’s too much for them and it’s too much for me and it’s not healthy,” she said. “Everything comes in waves.”

5. She Is Vegan

In a 2018 Tumblr post Eilish explains why she went vegan in 2014. There were a lot of reasons,” she wrote. “I love animals and I just think there’s no point in creating something out of an animal when the animal is already there. Leave animals alone. Damn. Also, I’m lactose intolerant and dairy is horrible for your skin and my skin is VERY aware of that.”

6. She Is Sober

Eilish has never struggled with drugs or alcohol, but maintains a sober lifestyle. “When I was growing up and I was around my group of friends back then,” she said, “and they would all be drinking and smoking and doing drugs and whatever, I think because of the way that my personality is—I’m a very strong-willed person, and I think at the time I was very alpha—I’m coming to realize that I may have felt a feeling of superiority.”

7. She Had Eating Issues at a Young Age

When she was just 12, Billie started taking weight loss pills and developed a pattern of disordered eating. "Five years ago, I wasn’t really eating. I was, like, starving myself," she told Vanity Fair. "I remember taking a pill that told me that it would make me lose weight and it only made me pee the bed—when I was twelve."

Lisa is one of the most popular singers out there. She is a member of the successful K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK. She just shared some of her vacation highlights on Instagram this week. In them, she is seen by the ocean on a boat, at a resort, and on a plane. Lisa is seen wearing an orange patterned swimsuit and white t-shirt in the photos of her on a boat. She captioned the post, “Summer dump.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Lisa stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Dances

BLACKPINK is known for their choreography. Naturally, Lisa does a lot of dancing to stay in shape. Harvard Health states, “The evidence for the health benefits of exercise is indisputable. Physiologic studies have demonstrated that regular activity builds muscle and bone, reduces fat, increases aerobic capacity, lowers blood pressure, and improves the ratio of ‘good’ to ‘bad’ cholesterol. Dance has been shown to have all the benefits of other forms of exercise. Moreover, by incorporating music, dance may have benefits beyond those of exercise alone. Music stimulates the brain's reward centers, while dance activates its sensory and motor circuits. Dancing has improved balance, gait, and quality of life in people with Parkinson's disease and related movement disorders. And several — but not all — studies have indicated that mastering dance movements and patterns yields greater improvements in memory and problem-solving than walking does.”

2. She Pole Dances

Lisa loves to pole dance to stay in shape. She shared this set of photos on Instagram. In the first one, she is seen doing a pose on a pole. Lisa captioned the post, “Macau.” Insure4Sport states that pole dancing has a lot of benefits. “Many pole dancing manoeuvres require you to lift and hold your own body weight, so it’s ideal for building strength in your back muscles, biceps, triceps, and forearms. Even if you come to a class without much upper body strength, you’ll soon build it up through pole dancing.”

3. She Swims

Lisa likes to swim to stay in shape. She shares a lot of photos on Instagram of herself in the water. Lisa posted this pool photo on her page. Wake Forest University states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Unlike many other forms of cardio, swimming uses a wide range of muscles. In addition to toning your whole body, swimming builds both strength and endurance…If you have injuries or sore joints, swimming is great for your body. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or just looking for a low-impact alternative, swimming is much less jarring than other forms of exercise.”

4. She Hikes

Lisa likes to hike to keep herself in shape. She shared these photos on Instagram of herself hiking on the rocks by the beach. Harvard Health states that hiking has a lot of benefits. “A rigorous hike may offer many of the same physical benefits as interval training, which alternates low- and high-intensity exercise to increase cardiovascular fitness. During a hike, your heart rate goes up as you move up an incline and drops when you head downhill. Traversing an irregular landscape can also build strength.”

5. She Paddleboards

Swimming isn’t the only water-based workout that Lisa likes to do. She also likes to go paddleboarding. She shared these photos of herself paddleboarding in Honolulu on Instagram. Paddleboarding can help improve your balance. The American Heart Association states that balance is important. “Having good balance is important for many activities we do every day, such as walking and going up and down the stairs. Exercises that improve balance can help prevent falls, a common problem in older adults and stroke patients. They can also benefit those who are obese since weight is not always carried or distributed evenly throughout the body. A loss of balance can occur when standing or moving suddenly. Often we are not fully aware that we may have weak balance until we try balance exercises.”

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
