The Diet & Workout Routine That Keep Brooke Shields, 59, in Top Form

Brooke Shields is known for her roles in films like The Blue Lagoon, Pretty Baby, and Endless Love. She also made a name for herself with her iconic Calvin Klein jeans ads. Today, the model, actress, and author is 59 and still in fantastic shape thanks to the dedication she's put into her diet and workout routine.
Between working as the president of the Actors' Equity Association and the CEO of her haircare brand, Commence, writing books, and more, Brooke prioritizes regular exercise and healthy eating. The mom of two daughters, Rowan and Grier, used to turn to dancing as her primary form of fitness. But after breaking her femur, undergoing multiple surgeries, and completing years of rehab, she has changed her approach to working out significantly.
She Loves Pilates—the Nofar Method, to Be Exact
These days, Brooke Shields focuses on low-impact exercises. She is a huge fan of Pilates, particularly the Nofar Method, which incorporates cardio, strength training and elements of Pilates with the help of reformer machines.
"I never liked Pilates before," Brooke admitted during an interview with TODAY.com. However, today she wraps up a Nofar class "dripping wet" because she loves that it's "no impact" and the workout is "so specific."

She Prefers Group Fitness Classes Over a Personal Trainer
In September 2024, Brooke told Women's Health that, since her injuries, she prefers group fitness classes over working with a personal trainer. She explained that she has found that she likes to be "one of a group" and doesn't "love individual attention."
"I don't try to cheat during classes, but I don't feel like being scrutinized," the actress shared. "I know they say they're helping, but I'm just like, 'I don't want that kind of attention!'"
She Drinks Less and Doesn't Skip Cardio
During her chat with TODAY.com, Brooke revealed that she's cut back on her alcohol intake in recent years and makes sure to fit in some cardio. The model said she prefers SoulCycle or a rower with music to help maintain her physique.
"Do 10 minutes. Even just that, I'll start to see [results]," she explained.
Since decreasing alcohol and incorporating more cardio, Brooke said she's noticed a difference in more stubborn areas, such as her belly.
"It used to all just be in my butt, and now, that's lower, and it's shifted around," she shared. "It's moved to the other neighborhoods."

She Focuses on Balanced Meals
For Brooke, her diet is all about moderation. She often opts for "smaller, more balanced meals" each day to stay full instead of three bigger meals, she told Women's Health.
Listening to what her body needs is also a top priority.
"I'm really starting to realize that if I crave something, I probably need something in it," she told the publication. "I did it when I was pregnant—I just gave into all my cravings, because it was usually eggs, and protein, or pasta. But now I'm better off."
