Happy birthday, Caitlin O’Connor! This week, the model, TV host, and Winning Time actress celebrated her 36th birthday with boyfriend Joe Manganiello at Little Palm Island Resort and Spa, showing off her fantastic figure in many bathing suits. “Out of office ! Birthday festivities were had 👸🏼 Thank you to my love @joemanganiello for an amazing birthday (that seems to have started with a European vacation two months ago …❤️ the world tour continues…) #36,” she captioned one of the Instagram posts. She took time out of her tropical vacay to chat with Celebwell about her top five diet, fitness, and wellness tips for staying in shape.

1

Hydration

Caitlin O’Connor

The first healthy habit that Caitlin swears by is hydration. “I drink 2.5 liters of water a day,” she tells us. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

2

Strength Training

Strength training is responsible for her toned and taut figure. “I weight train in the gym three times a week,” she says. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and build lean muscle mass, and increase calorie burn. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills
3

Curated Meals

She also eats meals curated specifically for her. “I eat meals from Precision Food Works based on my blood work designed specifically for my health,” she tells us. “Joe spoke about this on Colbert a few weeks ago.”

4

Facials

If you want your skin to glow a la Caitlin’s, plan on getting facials. “I am a big skincare lover and I like to do facials at Richland Aesthetics in LA. I also love laser peels and swear they are keeping me young,” she says.

5

Incline Walking

She also does incline walking. “I hate cardio but I have to do it,” she admits. “45 minutes walking up incline or stairs, three times a week.” Walking on an incline burns more calories than walking fast or running on a flat surface, so many experts suggest upping your incline. A 2013 study even found that walking on a 2 to 7 percent incline increased heart rate by almost 10 percent compared to running on a flat surface.
