Candice Swanpoel is one of the most successful models in the 21st century. She’s best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Swanpoel recently enjoyed a trip to Mykonos, and shared some photos on Instagram. In them, she and her friends enjoyed a day by the water and on a boat. She captioned the post, “Shenanigans pt. 1.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Candice Swanpoel stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Varies Her Diet

In an interview with UBeauty.com, Swanpoel talked about some of her wellness secrets, including how she approaches eating. “I don’t stick to a specific diet,” she says. “I eat whatever my body needs or craves. I have to eat a lot to maintain my weight, so I’m lucky I can eat anything, but I do focus on foods that make me feel good and give me more energy.”

2. She Varies Her Workouts

Swanpoel doesn’t just vary her diet, but also her workout. “My routine is constantly changing but depending on what is going on in my life, I am either allowing my body to rest or working out for a specific goal,” she told UBeauty.com. “My goals when working out are to build on my foundation. I am naturally extremely thin, so I need to add weights to keep my curves, which is how I feel my best and most beautiful. I don’t overdo it, as I like to keep a natural feminine figure. Thirty minutes a day, four times a week does the trick for me–if I can be consistent. Which is not always the case.”

3. She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Swanpoel has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She shared her routine with UBeauty.com. “Mornings, I cleanse, tone, and moisturize, and use a strong SPF. Nighttime, I double-cleanse, tone, and use a retinol or U Beauty's amazing Resurfacing Compound and moisturize with a thicker product. I love your hydrating moisturizer, The SUPER Hydrator, and I never forget my eye cream. If I have time, I use product on my body. I use The SCULPT Arm Compound on my entire body.”

4. She Uses A Cleanser

Drops,Of,Transparent,Cosmetic,Gel,Or,Serum,Yellow,With,AShutterstock

One skincare product Swanpoel likes to use is a cleanser. She tells ELLE that since she has oily skin, she has to cleanse on a regular basis. "I like a foaming cleanser because I have quite oily skin. I really like to feel like I'm getting all the dirt off. I have one that I get from Wholefoods that's green tea-based, it's super natural."

5. She Makes Time For Herself

Swanpoel has a busy life between her career and her family. However, she tells UBeauty.com that she makes sure to make time for herself. “I disappear from society. Haha. Avoid eating out and drinking alcohol and make sure I’m going to sleep early and exercising. Rest is extremely important for me to have the energy to do the things that help me reset.”

How did Nicole Scherzinger, Dua Lipa, Katharine McPhee, Sarah Michelle Gellar and many more spend their time—and how to they stay so fit? Read on to see 10 stars who have stayed in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole Scherzinger is always looking fit in her photos. And her boyfriend Thom Evans “is always there for the vibe checks,” she captioned one post near Christmas. In it, she and her partner are on the beach in bathing suits, dancing to the throbbing tune of MizOrMac’s Bites The Dust. Her wellness advice: "Not been feeling the greatest lately, so got outta my head and sweat it out…. No one is gonna do it for you. So DO YOU and DO IT FOR YOU. Stay strong family, find the good light and keep shining.”

2. Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa posted a series of swimsuit selfies from the beach, captioning them "see ya in 2022". Earlier this week, she posted more swimsuit photos, “living on island time.” She works out first thing in the morning and tries to remain authentic to herself. "Being a female pop artist, you have to spend a lot of time proving yourself. People think I’m just this ‘industry thing’ but every song I’ve written is real, authentic and mine,” she told Refinery29.

3. Savannah Guthrie

In honor of Guthrie’s 50th birthday, colleague Al Roker posted a photo of the two in the pool together. “I am so thrilled my dear friend @savannahguthrie is now halfway to a #smuckersjar I can’t wait to see what the next 50 bring!! #happybirthday Savvie G!!” he wrote. “I’ve never once felt good about how I looked on the outside,” she told Health for its May cover in 2019. “I think all of us women spend so much time not feeling like we measure up. And what a waste of energy. I’m not there yet, but that’s my goal.”

4. Katharine McPhee

McPhee made headlines this week twice—once when her husband, David Foster, posted a swimsuit picture of her with the caption “what baby”—a reference to her fit postpartum body—and then later when she clapped back at haters of his image and caption. She said: “ok the press around my husbands photo he posted of me is so dumb… so I hope this photo helps lol. I’m sorry but we are not sorry. And for all of you who can’t deal with it maybe this helps. I’ve struggled with weight my whole 20s and 30. I’ve gone up and down 10 times over. Does that make you feel better? There is nothing wrong with that -most people do. I lost this baby weight without dieting. Zero. Diets are the worst and I’ve had zero pressure from anyone. I’ve let me body do its thing and found a great workout. That’s it. And guess what? I’ll probably gain weight again at some point too. Who cares? BUT people freaking out about what my husband captioned seriously get a life... Stop being so offended by what people post who have zero impact on your life and move on. Maybe you should have more of an attitude of like, let’s say… “oh that’s nice he thinks his wife is hot.” I cannot with this overly sensitive society right now. But as Taylor Swift said haters gonna hate. byyeeee”

5. Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union seemed to be on an endless vacation in paradise, posting multiple images in swimsuits. “In addition to doing 15 to 20 minutes of cardio daily, Union credits her toned body to a regular combination of strength training and Pilates,” says Marie Claire. "I'm not a morning person, but I have to work out early because of my schedule.”

6. Catherine Zeta-Jones

“Sun’s out,” Zeta-Jones captioned a photo of herself in a bathing suit. How does she stay fit? “We’re big on family meals ... we stop and we sit down and we have lunch,” she once said. "Something light that doesn't weigh me down too much." Such as: "A spinach-arugula mix of leaves, pine nuts, tomatoes…I sometimes put a little blue cheese…I like to throw some dried cranberries in," she says.

7. Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a few swimsuit photos this week, and why not; she looks fantastic at age 44, and she had “vacation mode activated.” “Sometimes, I’m so tired at the end of the day I just want to go to bed, but I have to take time for myself to take a bath, read a book, or catch up with my friends so I don’t lose myself in the minutiae of the day,” she tells Bustle. In the morning: “Coffee. Sometimes a little Stevia and that’s it. It makes up for my daughter. She orders those ridiculous Starbucks secret menu things and I’m, like, mortified. I’ll just take my iced coffee. I pretend I don’t know her at Starbucks.”

8. Molly Sims

The model frequently posts photos looking great in swimwear, and this week was no exception. She stays lean by keeping it green: "I'll do either a salmon salad with butter lettuce or mesclun greens and black olives plus, sweet potatoes for heartiness and roasted almonds for crunch," she tells Women’s Health. "I love a hearty salad."

9. Emma Hernan

Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan celebrated her birthday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She stays healthy by eating right, and launched her own vegan food company. “For many Americans, meals center around the meat. After all the Department of Agriculture reports that 222 pounds of meat are sold per person per year in the U.S. But when researchers asked nearly 70,000 volunteers about their diets, then tracked them over time, they found lower cancer rates among people who didn't eat meat at all,” reports the Mayo Clinic. “In fact, vegans — those who don't eat any animal products including fish, dairy or eggs — appeared to have the lowest rates of cancer of any diet. Next in line were vegetarians, who avoid meat but may eat fish or foods that come from animals, such as milk or eggs.”

10. Helena Christensen

The supermodel looked great in a bathing suit. Her secret? "Sprint, don't run, because that immediately sparks your metabolism and stuns your body by engaging your muscle groups in a very explosive way," she told Bazaar. "I can't run for 40 minutes at the same pace, listening to music. I will do 20 minutes and then I'm dying. I don't do the long, methodical routines of swimming 40 laps either. I want to be in the ocean fighting waves, not being in the pool staring at the clock and only seven minutes has passed when I'm already exhausted."

Ana Zelu is a professional model and social media influencer. She is known for her content in nature. Zelu recently shared a post on Instagram of herself on a surfboard in the ocean. She captioned it, “Yesterday was such a fun shoot, I just had to share these with you 🤍 🛥️But picture number #4?? That photobomb totally got me 😂 Which picture is your favorite ?🌊”

She Swims

As you can see from her post, Zelu likes to swim. The Mayo Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief.”

She Doesn't Compare Herself to Others

Zelu shares a lot of her thoughts on Instagram. In this post, she talked about no longer comparing herself to others. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today’s contemplation led me to a profound understanding of the detrimental impact comparison has on our lives. It’s like a silent intruder, subtly creeping into our thoughts and poisoning our perception of ourselves and others. It’s a universal struggle, one that weighs heavily on the hearts of many. I’ve come to realize that comparison is the ultimate thief of joy. It robs us of our ability to appreciate our own journey and achievements, as we constantly measure ourselves against an idealized version of others. I’ve resolved to break free from its grasp. We should choose to celebrate our own unique path, recognizing that each step forward is a triumph in itself. Rather than fixating on external benchmarks set by others, I’m focusing on personal growth and development. Whether it’s through learning new skills, cultivating gratitude, or simply practicing self-compassion, every effort counts.”

She Hikes

Zelu is seen on a hike in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that hiking is very beneficial. “Like brisk walking, hiking is a good way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, particularly if your route includes some hills, which will force your heart to work harder. Taking a hike on the slightly uneven surface of a trail also provides a natural way to engage the core muscles in your torso and to hone your balance skills.”

She’s Resilient

Resilience is another important thing to Zelu. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Dear Diary 💭📝, I witnessed something truly remarkable that touched my heart deeply. It’s amazing how people can go through the toughest storms in life and yet remain gentle, patient, and kind. I saw someone who faced challenges that would break most people, yet they chose to respond with grace and humility. Their ability to stay calm and compassionate in the face of adversity is nothing short of admirable. It made me realize the beauty of resilience – the strength to keep going even when life throws its hardest punches. These individuals not only endure the storms but also emerge from them with a spirit that shines brighter than before. Their example reminds me of the power of kindness and the importance of staying true to oneself, even in the darkest of times. It’s a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, there is beauty to be found 💕🫶”

She’s Accepted Herself

Zelu talked about the importance of acceptance in this Instagram post’s caption. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but amidst it all, I feel like I’ve taken a step closer to the right direction. Letting go of the past is like shedding a heavy coat I’ve been carrying for far too long. It’s not easy to release the memories, the pain, the regrets, but today, I made a choice to loosen the grip they had on me. It’s like taking a deep breath after being underwater for too long—refreshing and liberating. Forgiving myself has been a journey filled with tears and moments of self-doubt. But today, I finally understood that I deserve the same forgiveness and understanding I give to others. It’s like giving myself a warm hug, wrapping myself in kindness and acceptance.”
